Cannot click install.... - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

This one has me confused..... I wiped out my phone for giggles and grins and flashed SGH-T989_UVLH1_Stock_Deodex_Rooted_signed.zip from my sd card cause kies ALWAYS seems to fail on install moving on so I flashed this Rom and had noticed an interesting effect. No matter what I do when I want to install software I cannot click the "install"button no matter how much I touch it, it fails to deal respond. Now I can click the cancel button no worries but not the install. No matter which way my screen is rotated. Any clues as to why and before anyone asks yes install non market apps is checked

Help, app installer troubles

I'm hoping someone can help.
Recently I started having troubles with my evo.
I am able to download apps from the market but they get stuck "installing".
This happened on Fresh 3.1
I then wiped and installed cm6 and again, same problem. On both I tried killing the downloader service as well as the market. I cleared the market data but could not clear its cache because it was stuck computing.
I tried installing apps from titanium backup and it gets stuck at 0%.
I then used another installer I got from when I installed tweet deck. It's an installer meant to allow you to install apk's received in emails.
That also got stuck.
Un installing also doesn't work. Gets stuck.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
I'm at a loss.

Hit cancel in the market and redownload. I find myself in the same position. Sometimes hangs on download or install..

Can't cancel, the button says "installing" and it is greyed out.

It started working. It's strange since it didn't work across different roms.

This has happened to me, sometimes it will install later after canceling the download. But I really think it has to do with titanium, not sure why, but I stopped using it and never have the problem anymore. I am good with starting fresh each time as long as I have my contacts saved to the sdcard.
It might be titanium..
I couldn't leave well enough alone..
I flashed cm6 back onto my phone then ran titanium.
At 16/100 app installs...the phone froze and rebooted. It wouldn't boot back into cm6.
I got stuck at the EVO splash.
I reflashed cm6 back on after wiping it, this time without the snap kernel, and the problem is back.. :\
If this ever happens again go to the /download directory on your memory card and you'll find the apk. You can then install from that. This happened to me a few times.
I'm not sure what you're referring to..but the installer doesn't work either way.
I tried installing some apk's I have in my sd card and the installer gets stuck at "installing" with the little bar under it continuously moving.

Market stuck on "downloading.."

Okay, this is slightly different from being stuck on 'starting download' My market will download just fine, up to 100% and just hang, it takes multiple cancels and restarts for it to actually INSTALL what i'm trying to install.
9/10 times it will stall on 100%, meaning the green bar will be filled up with progress, the amount downloaded will be equal to the file size, but it will never transition to "installing"
Also, my microSD card will have the download under the downloads folder, and depending on how many times i had to cancel and restart the download, it will have Download-1, download-2, download-3 etc etc filling up the folder.
Never happened on 2.1, but every FroYo ROM i've tried starts to get this behavior after a while. what gives?
Did you try to reinstall gapps? What version are you using?

I had the same problem had to go under Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>all> select market and clear data. you will have to when you go into the market next time you have to re agree to the market terms but that should fix the problem.
That was what mine was doing when I found out about the Talk bug, did you make sure that is logged in?

I log in to g-talk all the time :-\
Same problem here on Fresh 3.2, though I have experienced this on other 2.2 roms as well. I usually have to do like the OP said and cancel the download and restart. This seems random for me though. Half the time it downloads normal. No idea why.

Thanks for this post. I've had lots if trouble getting market downloads to start. Since reading your post I've found that as long as I'm signed into gtalk it works just fine.

Cannot Install anything from market

Let me start off by stating I am far from a newb. I have been rooting and flashing android ROMs since the G1. This is the first time I have run across this. My wife's DInc wont let her install any apps. Install unsuccessful each tome and started on stock ROM. I just rooted wiped and flashed cm7. Still same deal. I have never encountered this. Thinking corrupt internal memory. Anyone else have an idea? Tried wiping market cache data etc... tried signing into Google talk... funny thing is out of warranty by one day now. Awesome timing.

how new is the inc? have you checked that the PRL settings are correct? what message do you get when you try to install apps? it wouldn't hurt to do a *228 just to ensure all settings are written correctly.
I had the same problem but it turned out that the apps couldnt interact with my sd card. does it display a pop up error message when you try to install an app?
Last 2 DIncs I rooted, the SD that came with it was Not FAT32. Those had the same issue you describe, I reformatted SD, worked fine.

I'm having the same issue.. I thought it was from me messing around with the provider #'s like 310004 310012 etc.. im on verizon... cant install anything... get a popup of can install on usb or usb storage.... pic attached. ( http://db.tt/0aLvpMJ )
Well... it let me update these... http://db.tt/wCkP1we
But not these.... http://db.tt/NtTKVRc
I'm stumped... all permissions are set correctly. I've erased data and cache multiple times from the market... I've *228'd... and rebooted MANY TIMES!

Thats the exact same problem i had.
Use root explorer and navigate to /sdcard/.android_secure and delete the file "smdl2tmp1.asec" if it is not in that location then it could be in /mnt/secure/asec/
After i deleted the file it worked just fine with no errors.
Does it install if you unmount the SDcard with the system settings first?
I tried doing that but it didn't work for me. But it doesn't hurt to try.
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Ahh, I had an issue with it a while back that was fixed by unmounting the sdcard before installing them. I'd read about it in this article before, maybe it will help someone here: http://lifehacker.com/5714300/how-to-fix-installation-unsuccessful-errors-in-the-android-market
Seems like it mostly covers problems with updates, though.

Download unsuccessful

I'm breaking my cherry here. Long time follower, reader, but never signed up for XDA. Now I need you!
VZW Droid Incredible 2. Stock rom. Rooted. Tried to download a short artistic video from an app I got off of Snappz (not sure if the video is going to internal storage or SD.) Anyways, thing keeps saying 'download unsuccessful.' I don't care about the download anymore. It won't stop trying to download this video. I've tried a reboot, I force stopped the process that I got the artistic video from. Out of ideas. Tried searching google and XDA. No luck. How do I stop this thing?
Edit: Deleted the app that was causing the issue. Don't know why I didn't think of that first.

Try going into downloads and cancelling it? Reboot not stopping it is odd, if that doesn't work kill and clear data on the downloads app.
Edit: also, welcome to xda

I could reformat my hard drive and reinstall Windows every time I get some malware too but obviously that's a last resort.

Reflashing a ROM is different than formatting a hard drive , but hey if you can find a solution better than a 5 min reflash cuz I dont know what else you can do to stop the download that won't download, wish I could have been more help

Could be server issues with the app or the app itself. It possibly makes a folder with the app name or something on the SD card that it saves to.

The app says that it saves to SD/downloadmanager. The folder was empty. The app didn't have a folder I could easily identify either. Didn't even think to try uninstalling the app (slaps palm against forehead.) So I did that. We'll see.

Can't press Google Play update or install button

HTC One X here had weird pixelating and freezing problems couple of weeks ago so we took it to the repair. They replaced almost everything, including the main board and we got it back just now. Works fine, but there's problems with Google Play. When trying to press update, it presses to the app. If trying to press update (just above the "remove" button) it presses remove instead and asks for the app removal. If trying to install new app and to press install, it doesn't do anything.
Is this because of the new android version they just rolled on to HTC One X or if they repaired it wrong, or replaced screen bits wrong or something? Really clueless here.
The phone is onrooted and on stock ROM, if that helps. Tried clearing data and the typical stuff, reboot, no luck. Before trying root and another ROM just asking if someone has similar problem, if not maybe we can take it back to the repair without unrooting work and such...
Did you try factory reset? If you don't want to do that then root, install titanium backup and uninstall the app, reboot then reinstall.

Hi, tried factory reset, didn't change a thing. Can't press update all, open or update buttons, it always chooses the space below it... for example in "My apps" view it selects the first app when trying to click "update all". In the app view, it selects "remove" when trying to click "update"... This issue seems to be only on Google Play, other apps work fine, even when tapping that same spot that is problematic in Google Play.
I don't know if I want to root yet, because if I'm going to send it to repair I have to do lots of work to unroot it (to remain warranty). But if it's the only option so be it. I wish the repair guys didn't mess something up last time. Other thing I'm guessing that the new stock ROM has some issues, but haven't seen reported them anywhere else...
What's the latest version of Google Play and where to get it? can I install new version of Google Play to unrooted system? Thanks in advance!

Gapps download: http://goo.im/gapps/
Make a backup first! Before you do anything made sure you can get back to this point. I think Google play is a part of the system partition so you can't uninstall without root. Bee careful, messing with that stuff can really make your life miserable if you can't troubleshoot!

Thanks! Without root, backupping is not that simple I guess. Ended up using this. Trying the latest gapps for 4.2.2 right now.
I have the same problem, the Install/update button can not be pressed.
Have no effect.
Miui v5 4.2.28. SGS2 I9100.
