Official JB rom? Question for developers - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

before I start to get in to deep with my phone, Is there a developer working on the Official JB release for our phones? I know I hate the stock look lol, i love me some blueness.

Pretty sure every LJ7 based rom in the dev section is based off the ota, they got a leak of the ota a week or so before it was officially released.

[Q] Will we see an AOSP build of 4.0 anytime on our device?

Since the SDK is out, can someone try to build an AOSP rom that can be used to just explore ICS? Are there instructions on how to do it? More importantly is it possible on the PLAY ?
This piece of news seems clear: http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/19/google-confirms-nexus-s-will-get-ice-cream-sandwich-for-real/
In fact, both he and Matias Duarte think most Gingerbread devices will see an upgrade, saying: "Currently in the process for releasing Ice Cream Sandwich for Nexus S. Theoretically should work for any 2.3 device."

In PRese that means "any GB device can be updated but companies will update if they feel like it".
Yes I saw that. I meant a quick AOSP build in the coming weeks. Not an official update

Any custom GB roms based on EI22 or is it too early?

I am guessing some of the devs here got hold of the rom a little before the rest of us.
I am currently running Simply AOSP EC05 which has been pretty stable for me.
Want to upgrade to GB for an extremely stable bloatware free ROM. Is there anything now or should I wait a bit to give devs time to play with the new official release?
Thanks!

Haven't seen anything custom yet. But I have seen a pre rooted deodexed version i believe. Looks like a few devs have indicated they will have working custom versions up by tomorrow.
LOL wow. The OTA just started and already asking for custom.
If this community is to learn just 1 thing out of all our update situations... please be it patience.
Waiting patiently, excited to see what will come of this update
There are custom roms in the works, but you could always play with the modded stock roms that are popping up..

that's why I ended the subject with the question "is it too early"... so I'm guessing your answer to that is yes. I just figured some devs got hold beforehhand.
I saw the ERA thread for the Hurricane stockyish rom...looks promising...
Anxious for aclean simple rom...but patient =)
Hurricane is based on the pre release. It's been out for a while. It's good, but id wait till later. You want the best right?

There's an update to Hurricane coming soon..
Should be in testing in the next day or so..
Has anybody heard if acs is working on srf 1.3 or whatever it will be called?
My phone has been pretty stable running Simply AOSP. I installed the flashable EC05 to EI22 modem yesterday. Only issue is have been getting some random shutdowns. Not sure if it started before modem update - but looking to flash soon nevertheless.
So I noticed in the dev forum there are two interesting looking EI22 based ROMS... ACS ICS and also ERA's Legendary.
I realize each rom has its respective dedicated thread but is there a major difference between them that could help me decide between the two...
Best way to find out about custom ROMs is look in Development. The newest ones will always be at the top and simply read the OP of each.

What's the latest GB Miui ROM for DHD?

Hi,
I have been looking for the latest MIUI Rom with GB not ICS. I have tried looking in the obvious places.. any idea?
Thanks.
Your best bet is to look in the MIUI site. No real MIUI development is done here

Thats what I have been doing, but I cant seem to find which version is the latest, only by date with description whether they are ICS or GB ROMS. I think they are no longer updating their GB ROMS so thats why I wanted the most stable.
I would start topic on their forums but for some reason the email confirmation never reaches me.

They stopped deving for gb. Ics is being worked on. The dates are when the rom was released. Bliind is working on an ics miui which you can find in the dev section. From there it will take you to miui.us.

Try Sci Muiu... Thats a really good one. :victory:

[Q] What will happen when JB get's officially released?

I'm wondering about the hboot incompatibility thing. Will devs over at Original Android Development start making kernels and roms for the hboot that will come with JB?
Well JB has been officially released in some parts of the world with hboot 1.36 and 1.33 and there hasn't been any issues with custom ROMs yet. Can't say the same for kernels because source hasn't been released yet.
Yes, once the source is released for the JB kernel, the kernels will be updated too.
But will HTC ever release the kernel sources for JB ?

Yes, it usually takes them around 30 days, I beleive, so they should start appearing for the released Taiwanese (HTC__621) OTA pretty soon.

So with this the GPS Bug in Kernels can be fixed ?
Yep
So you are saying that most of the devs at Original Android Development (CM10, AOKP, AOSP) will start making kernels for newer hboots?

Well technically if we can build the 4.4 kernel from source then we could port it. Although I am sure it will require devs to fix the posted source before it can compile properly.
So waiting for an official release will be easier and less problematic. It will mot be very much longer before the official version is out. Two months tops.
