4g is coming to my area in weeks and my GS3 gets poor reception at my house so I use a Airwave system from sprint. Will I be able to get 4g speeds with my Airwave On and also for people that have 4G in their area, has your 3g and and reception been improved?

No airave is mainly for calls. It can provide evdo speeds if your connection is 3mbs+ dl. But it will only be up to evdo speeds. Wifi will be faster.

I was told the airwave only works off your internet modem and that its only for those that are dropping calls not data

I got a 2.5. Maybe when 4G comes ill get better signal strength and be able to get rid of it. Called Sprint and said it will only let me get 3g speeds when it's turned on. He also said they are improving signal and data reception in areas that are getting LTE so I shouldn't need it much longer

I am unable to post a screenshot. But I have been getting speeds in kcmo up to 27mb. Usually around 10 mb normally.

Omg that sounds like a god send cause the speeds on 3g is just pathetic i hope Chicago and the surrounding areas get it soon. Sprint is ahead of schedule did your phone automatically connect to 4g

That is a number of different test results, but the bottom line is for 4G you should be hitting maybe around 20mbps depending on area and that is showing only kbps. Something definitely seems wrong. I hit over 20 in my area with no problem.

Thanks a lot.. He's not being throttled or anything, and tmobile said there's no problem with the towers In his area, you think it could be a problem with the phone? This has been going on over a week now..

Yeah seems weird. Is it possible anything could be interfering with the signal? Maybe try flashing a different radio if you're rooted.

Also you'll want to try switching the setting to read in mbps to see where you're at that way as well. I don't know what is consistent for your area so it may be that is all you'll get. I've gotten consistent readings between 17-21 mbps in my area.

I had him change the settings I attached a screen shot.. He's not rooted, and he's always had good speed in his area (Chicago) this just started about a week ago. I'm thinking it could be a problem with the phone as he's still sees a 4g signal? I'm gonna have him send it in for a replacement and see what happens.

20 is crazy for where I live. Best I got was 16 its usually around 12.

Ping is what is important. I stress it to everyone when looking for radio lol for latency. The lower the better. basically it's the amount of time it takes for data to travel to your target and for it to come back. It's a response time. You know how when you browse or go on fb sometimes it gets stuck for a few secs not doing anything... It's most likely do to high latency.
Another ex, when you lag during shooting games. They have high ping

Oh ok gotcha.. I never notice anything hanging ever though, actually everything loads VERY quick for me so I'm still a little confused lol, I attached a few more that I just ran. Is this any better?

Ok so I've seen alot of talk about prl and I wanted to see I'd changing mine would improve my data speeds. My current prl is 25006. I live in southeast Georgia in the 31313 zip code. No, changing PRLs will not get you 4G as the infrastructure is not yet active, and roaming on Verizon won't give you LTE.(At least from what i understand)

People reported faster 3G speed on Verizon towers.
A simple search in the above search bar could point you in the right direction

I'm in Fort Myers Also and a tech at best buy said 2 weeks max and we'll have 4G in southwest Florida. That was 8 days ago hopefully it will be in a few days since Central FL got it

Small area in Hollywood near I95. I Was amazed to see the icon. I was loss heading from miami to a friends house near Hollywood since there is nothing in Miami.

Can the Optimus G be flashed to Virgin Mobile? If it can will all the features be fully operational like 3g and 4g.

I'm not sure about Virgin. I have heard about it being flashed to Boost. But Boost uses Sprint's cell towers.

Should be able too. Just need the apns switched over. You could do it with some of the apn apps in the google play store.
