Hi is there a mod or app when we detach the stylus to use a menu button and back button can appear @ the bottom of the screen, because you can't use the s-pen with the hardware buttons at the moment.
Thanks for any help.

what if I want a button (or a soft button) for "rotate" if the button is pressed ?
any tools or configuration can do that ?
Not sure what "retate" means but if you are looking for button remapping look up AE Button Plus.

how come you reply so fast ... I have just corrected the typo ..
what I mean is a soft key button on screen that only if I need a rotate screen then I press that button.
Hmm. Don't know of any soft-button way to do it... but if you enable screen rotation in HD Tweak or Advanced Config you can remap a hard-button through the Button settings to do it...

You can use this solution. Cabs at the end of the post, giving you the option to use either the left or right softkey on the home page to rotate.
Hi, I recently got a galaxy note. I am trying to take screenshots with the help of stylus. I am not sure if it is working. How do i use it actually?
Press down the button and hold the pen on the screen for a moment.

Press the button on the stylus and tap and hold the stylus on the screen. You should see the result.
Do you hate the physical home button like I do?
Do you wish you could use the capacitive menu key instead of home, and assign much rarely used menu key to the physical button?
Just flash the attached file in Recovery.
The second file is for returning to the original setup if you wish.
awesome gonna try this

I especially like how the physical button still wakes the device. so I can hit it to wake the device, then double tap menu for svoice
i wonder if there is a way to make the "back" button long press = context menu. then can avoid the physical button all together
Hey I tried it on my vzw gs3 and it didn't work. :O

This is for the international Galaxy S3. For the USA versions, there is a separate forum on XDA since most things aren't compatible.

I think context menu might slow things down. But I understand where you're coming from, we have 5 options for 2 capacitive buttons so 1 option will have to be assigned to the physical button. I guess it depends on individuals on which button is the least used. For me is the Search button. Maybe a proposal like this :
Capacitive Menu Button
Short Press : Home
Long Press : Menu
Physical Home Button
Short Press : Home and Wake
Long Press : Search
Capacitive Back Button
Short Press : Back
Long Press : Recent

Love this. Does this mean that long press menu brings up 'Recents Menu' ?

Yes! Both keys are completely switched with all functionality, except that the physical button will still wake the device.
To other suggestions about more functionality, unfortunately I can only switch keys, I can't change the long press functions and such.
Great. Thanks
Does this work with cm9 or only sammy roms?
Works flawlessly with my device. Thank you OP.:good:
Awesome!

Hopefully one day it can be done like the HTC ONE X!
thanks, it works. but now my menu button does not vibrate anymore. it vibrates only in long press....
Installed it, running perfect!
This is how Samsung should do it.
Thanks a lot!!
Edit:
Short press menu button open menu
long predd menu button open taskmanager would be perfect!

I hate the home button but I hate more the lack of recents button.
Is there any way to swap the menu button functionality with that of "show recents"?

I was actually annoyed that I couldnt tap on the menu button and back button with the s-pen and found that there is a command for back and menu.
Open the help from your apps and choose s-pen and then commands to see it. You basically have to click on the button on the s-pen and while holding it down draw a command which is from right to left diagonally down and then to the right again for back. For menu if I recall its the top of a triangle from bottom left diagonally up then down right...I should have used my note to respond and paste an image in here

I dont think you understood me, but thanks anyway.
My question was, when i'm writing with my s-pen, i always accidentaly touch the back button, or the home or the menu button (physical and sensitive) . IS there any way to lock these buttons???????? like when watching a video and locking with power button, you canot anymore touch the home/back button, is there any way to do that in s-note? or any other apps
When I use the S Pen, the menu and back buttons are automatically disabled.
As a test, just on your home screen, hover the pen so the blue circle appears, then try and press the back and home buttons, they should not work.
Move the pen away, and they work again.
I too would prefer a way to lock the hard menu any back buttons. It is true that they don't work when the pen is in hover range but the moment it is out of hover range there is a high possibility that you hit them and they respond. It is impossible to always stay in that small range.
This feature would be really of great help when using the camera also. I keep accidentally touch the back button when trying to use the camera.

I understood the opposite of what you wanted
Mainly because as other member posted these buttons are locked while using the s pen. . However, if the s pen is not in range then they can still be pressed so you do have a point. . Maybe a customization feature in a rom. . ?? Feature request from the dev of the rom you are using?!
Well if you didn't know the s-pen shortcuts. . Now you do. .

I'm not sure if that's possible but i know there's a post in the" how satisfied are you with your note 2" (or something like that) thread which has instructions on how to enable the on screen keys and disable the capacitative ones.

the problem is for me that my hand touches the back button before the pen is close enough to the screen...
stupid that there is no real setting in S-Note to disable the back + menu completly...
yeah I want that option too

yeah stupid, I'm just looking all over to solve this, but nothing yet. I also post two threads on other forums, maybe someone from SAMSUNG realize this is pretty stupid issue here,
that in writing phone, you have problems with writing.
Anyway to get the menu overflow button into all apps and disable menu key or make it multitask key? Xposed modules or Roms? I loathe the menu key. All of my other devices have software buttons so I'm always thrown off when going to my note. Thanks

xposed module: 3-dot menu mod do the job(add soft menu key). Install it, activate in xposed and restart.
PS. And Samsung did it again wrong, because the menus are ugly in all their apps (light grey icons on a white background).

Good stuff. This restored the 3 dot menu in Chrome after Google yanked it out in the last update.

Now to find a way to turn the menu button into a task switcher button and set long press home to google now
Youre right ... Listen to me get xposed modules install gravity box jellybean version... and use their pie controls.... make them appear on left side.... so use ur left thumb to acces home button and recent task on pie.... and your right thumb for the return button ... i know the feels... since that threw me off too ... this way you can comfortably navigate without sacrificing screen estate... .. trust me it rocks... contact me if you have more questions .. youre welcome

Long press home to Google Now can be done with Xposed. Both my phone and tablet work like that. I use Switchr for task switching with the activator in the bottom left and Button Savior Pro on the bottom right.
mine does that automatically. it also tried opening dolphin for some reason LoL
