Hi, i have the htc__622 cid phone, and as i won't be able to use a computer for long time i want to revert to stock and than some time to get the ota.
I have read the guides but there were some things i didn't understand:
in this guide:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1859714
what stock recovery do i need? the 1.28 or the other one? the ruu i've downloaded is 1.29.708.15.
I tryed to do that method while flashing the recovery from mike (non 1.28) but the ruu did nothing, just loaded the file and then seems like it got closed, i did all the necesery steps, and i installed htc sync.
in this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1660807
I just didn't find a way to extract the zip from the ruu.
Thanks for the help.

If you had taken a Nandroid Backup of your stock ROM, restore it.
If you hadn't,Run an RUU's from here:

One more alternative - Flash a Safe Zip RUU from here: (Post #1. Point 5A)

thanx for the help
Beware !
Do keep in the mind that the latest 2.2 official RUU floating around might turn the S-ON on ur device.
Effectively unrooting it.
And then you would have to resort to Clip or Alpha method to root it again.
Ask me, it's a pain in you-know-where

Agreed. Here's a safe update.zip, both rooted & not rooted : (disclaimer: I didn't test it) :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=877977
Alternatively, you can extract system.img and boot.img from the rom.zip you can find in your %TEMP% after you exec an official RUU, an flash those with the flash_image command-line tool in clockworkmod.

i have downloaded two ROMs from the link 2 (Post #1. Point 5A)
1- Buzz_Froyo_hTC_Asia_India_2.25.720.1 -
2- Repack of the chinese RUU, Android 2.2 Froyo Rooted Chinese apps removed
after extracting the zip file i didnt see any exe file to run. i can only see folders named "META-INF" and "system" and boot.img file.
do i need to install this ROM the same way i did for installing CyanogenMod or is there any other way to do so.
thanx
Flash that .zip file, don't extract it.
Install like Cyanogenmod, and, I personally dont recommend using the Chinese RUU.
how about this link
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows mobile&model=Buzz
can i install any of the ROMs by running RUU exe file only.
Yes, you can. Any RUU beginning with 1.x is an Eclair ROM, and with 2.x is a Froyo ROM. Just choose a WWE ROM and not any carrier branded one.
i have downloaded and installed the following ROM
RUU_Buzz_Froyo_hTC_Asia_TW_2.24.709.1_Radio_13.55.55.24H_3.35.20.10_release_161114_signed
but its wifi is not working. wildfire detects wifi router and shows connectivity but there isnt any browsing, email, youtube doenst work.

Hi Everyone, sorry for the noob question here but I need to take my phone in for warranty so I'm looking for some help on putting my phone back to stock.
Currently my Desire is running CM7.1 RC1, Radio 5.11.05.14, S-OFF with AlphaRev, HBOOT 0.93.1000, and rooted with unRevoked3
From what I've been reading online I should be able to flash the RUU at the following link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667 however I'm not sure which one is the correct one for Telus?
I do have a nandroid backup from before I did S-OFF and I think even before I did root it. Not sure if that helps me out or not.
If someone could point me in the right direction that would be awesome.
Thanks!
Telus is this one:
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151557_signed.exe
If you used the latest alpharev to S-OFF, you may need to flash the downgrader hboot for the RUU to work.
Thanks for the link, when I go to run it I get the following error.
ERROR[152]: IMAGE UPDATE ERROR
From reading the ReadMe it says "One of these error messages will appear when you use the incorrect RUU to update and the image file size is larger than the Flash ROM size. In this case, download the correct RUU version and try again."
You should read posts completely:

You will have to extract rom.zip from ruu.exe from windows "temp" folders. Then relock, install stock recovery and flash it. You will find endless posts on this topic if you take 15 mins to read enough tutorials and stickies.
Hi there ,
Thanks for the quick reply. How do I extra a rom.zip from an .exe file I tried running the RUU.exe and then doing %temp% but the folder that come up is empty.
What am I doing wrong.
Thanks,
Dave.
btw I have in fact spent all last night looking for solutions, but could not find a post that indicated that any had a problem in actually running the RUU.exe file
wrong boot utility
Hi there again,

Thanks,

Hello, been looking for a way to return to stock xx.xxx.709.xx with cid_621. I'm on developer firmware atm and the only way to return is by flashing a RUU, but unfortunatly I've not been able to find any. Any help would be highly appriciated. Doesn't matter which version just a RUU for 709 works. Thanks
I assume your device is S-Off, if not how can you have Developer Edition firmware on it, right ?
Why do you need a RUU to revert to stock ? You can simply restore a 4.24.709.3 backup and its stock recovery then do OTA to 6.12.709.4
You can get all the needed files here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/tutorial-how-to-stock-stock-twrp-t3086860
If you insist to install RUU, there is one untested but a very old RUU, means if it is successful installed .. you need to do a lot .. a lot of OTA up to 6.12.709.4
You can find it here, it listed on top and it's a RUU zip, not exe - http://androidruu.com/?developer=M8

Yeah .. don't need RUU .. you need a non-rooted stock ROM and stock recovery.
Hi people, this is my first time posting on a forum. I've always fixed my problem by googling them but now i failed.
I fixed the problem mentioned in the title and now i'm back to the original problem.
I followed a guide on the web to root my HTC 10. What i did was unlocking the bootloader and then flashing TWRP and till then things went good.
Then i tried to root it by flashing superSU and after that my phone went in bootloop and i found out i didnt have a system image anymore.
I tried to flash the RUU with my cid but i got the following error "RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL...".
This is my situation:
-i can access download, recovery and bootloader
-I've TWRP installed and my internal storage is blank, it only has an empty TWRP folder.
-My external memory has the following folders: Android, TWRP, .android_secure, LOST.DIR
What is my problem? I even tried to restore a TWRP backup without succeeding from https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-10/how-to/stock-stock-collection-recovery-ruu-ota-t3359297
Please help me!!

No I meant you can flash a custom rom instead of stock. If you want stock you'll have to run a stock ruu. What's your current software number and which ruu are you trying to run?

I've used this ruu 1.90.401.5 that has same mid and cid as my phone. And before wiping my internaL storage i had nougat, 7.0 i think. This ruu thing is really twisting my mind, never heard about it before today... maybe that's because i got in trouble. I've installed viper and the phone seems to work now but i have my doubts on whether to keep it or not. I'll try this so rom for a week, i want to see if it has battery or overheating issues.
But in case i wanted to go back to stock, i dont know what went wrong and why the ruu i've picked failed to install even if it had the same cid and mid.

If you had Nougat before, that means your firmware version is 2.x.x.x. This is newer than the ruu you're trying to flash. You can only run an ruu that is at the same version as or above your current firmware version, and you cannot downgrade. That's what I mean by "run an ruu that's the same version as your phone."
Get your software info by doing fastboot getvar all from download mode. Then find an ruu that is for your CID/mid and at the same or higher version that you have. That'll take you to stock.
