I don't know how credible this information is, but the manager at my local Radioshack (in DFW) said that no retailer is getting the Sprint GNII before the 11th. Considering that the Note 2 is not being pushed heavily by any carrier and that even most Sprint stores only get a few at a time, this does sound pretty reasonable.
My distribution channel only has the Tmo version. I thought since they synced the launch day for Tmo theyd do the same with Sprint. Turns out there is a snafu with Sprint pushing out to third party distros. All my customers are waiting though because they know I have the best price anywhere. :highfive:

That's strange, I picked mine up at my Sprint store on 10/25 at 9 am, they had 15. I brought it to work, a coworker saw it and immediately wanted one. He erred and waited until he got off at 6:30 pm and visited three different stores who were all sold out for the day. He was pissed and ended up ordering it online. Its interesting because if you check other forums, folks have been picking them up at stores all over the country on 10/25.

BTW, my store is a Corporate store, don't know if that defeats your concern?
Two locations in the Milwaukee area only had 1-2 of the white left as of about 2PM. I had the last gray held for me at another store, visiting my closest one that I had set up an appointment for online.
I don't think Sprint realized how popular these would be.. Two nearby corporate stores sold out within 10 minutes of opening - Luckily, a third party store in my area received a shipment and held one for me.
Our local store is OOS today. I had to see it first before deciding to get one, so I ordered online.

Tele_sales at Sprint confirmed the 11th as well as the accounts management dept. They said the phone wasn't going to even be released until then. Weird to have 2 release dates. They obviously had no idea that this device is the best thing they have out, by a long shot.

Weird. I just ordered mine through telesales yesterday and it shipped. It is scheduled for delivery on Monday. I can't wait.

My understanding is that Sprint wanted first dibs before selling through 3rd party retailers. I called my local sprint store (nashville) and was told that I could go in the store and have it shipped by Monday/Tuesday if I went today. I'm gonna hold out so I can go through Best Buy and not have to deal with mail-in rebates.

Tasks AOKP ROM is nice. I use it as my daily driver, but it has a few little bugs.
Most of which I can live with. My only real complaint with it is that the Voice Dialer doesn't work through bluetooth.
Other than that its superb.
I bought mine for $199 from the att store, nice red one btw then called two days later and said my cousin bought one at best buy for $99 (complete lie) and they credited my account $114

I saw it at radio Shack for $99 after I paid $199 at at&t, called them up and told them about it. They informed me that they don't offer price matching.
I informed them I would just return the phone and go buy it from the shack.
They promptly credited my account $100.
So apparently anyone can get it for $99 if they are willing to work with a customer service representative.

Tell me how it goes, because I really want this phone but I need it to be $99.
There was a thread about someone getting a gs3 for $99 from actually calling att and talking to a rep. I read this and called att myself. I bought mine for 199 at the store. So I called 611 and talked to someone. Told them I have been with att for a long time and felt I deserve the same price treatment as the person who got it for 99. Lady said how about 100 credit on bill. I said cool. Next thing I know it was only a 25 dollar credit. Week later I called again cause had issues with activating wife's new iPhone. After getting that resolved I told them about when I called last time and thought I was getting 100 dollar credit but only got 25. Somehow the guy this time hooked me up and gave me 2 different credits. An 80 and 28.50. And my other 25 he didn't take off. Said he wasn't going to. So all three credits took effect and I got 133.50 credit on my bill. So its like I got my gs3 for 66.50. Can't complain about that.

I got mine from at&t for 99.99 I called in and told them I saw people getting it for a 99.99 and asked if I could get the same deal, the csr had to get a manager/supervisor override but was very nice and helpful.

I bought mine from Frys Electronics last week for $150. Then I called AT&T and complained about the trouble I had activating it (spent 2 hours in the store on the phone, eventually had to go to an actual AT&T store). Even though there were no notes on the account, they issued me a $25 loyalty credit and waived the $36 upgrade fee. I didn't ask for anything more than waiving the upgrade fee, but they were very understanding of what I went through. I would highly recommend calling customer service if you aren't afraid to complain.

Ok so here's what I was able to find out. The first store i called said that the phone was in the computer but not in stock could possibly come in tonights or Wednesdays shipment. The second store said that Sprint isn't going to release the phone till the 11th to which I replied they released it Thursday and she was like oh well that's weired. So I called the Reward Zone Premier Silver customer service and they weren't able to tell me exactly what I needed to know so I was transferred to .com support. This is what they said. The phone is available to order NOT PREORDER. Where it says "coming soon" that means it's coming soon in stores. When you add the phone to your cart you add all of your plan info and then pay for it. They said it ships in 5-7 days.

mine said backordered too. i really wanted to keep it - 18mo no interest, $10 in bb rewards, and $88 credit on my account. but i cancelled it. i don't want to have to fight for the $150 price match on the retail price and picked one up a sprint today. they just got a new shipment in when i got there.

It wasnt an actual card, it was the promo they had back in feb. you sign up with your email. My brother lost the email, but it will show up if we order in store. Im not sure it will show up if I order online?

Ooooh, yes you'll get it, the promo is attached to the phone number they you upgrade. Might try calling to order it so you might be able to apply the fifty directly to the purchase,

Called two Best Buy's this morning in the North Dallas area. Still not in the inventory system (don't know if their inventory system is national) - so none in stock at the store. They are taking pre-orders though.
Couldn't hazard a guess on which channel is actually faster.
i've called 15+ stores twice a day since the phone launched. the responses have been mixed, but over time the general consensus is now shifting to "it won't be available in store until Nov 11." i've pre-ordered it at a store, but in the meantime, i also bought one on their website. original delivery was 10/31-11/1, but just got updated to 11/8-11/19. if they start showing up in store before i get mine, i might just grab one there and cancel my online order. but i figure i've already missed launch day and have been waiting anyways, so what's a couple more days?
Called around to several stores today and wasn't able to find any phones or anyone who could tell me when it's going to released.

If I didn't have all those Best Buy gift cards from my Photon trade-in - I would've gone to the corporate store by now.

I'm able to upgrade on December 1st and was wondering if there will be any other places to buy the note from. Black Friday is coming soon and if stores like amazon carry it I'm sure they'll dampen the $300 price a bit, but if it's only available on sprint and best buy it doesn't look like it will happen.

You can buy it from Wirefly and other online retailers right now for a discounted price.
If you mean brick and Mortar stores, Radioshack should be selling (On their website) and maybe WalMart too.
It's great that there are other carriers. I think I'll buy black friday. Does anyone know how long you have until you can activate the phone? My upgrade is available December 1. I was wondering if it's possible to buy the phone and wait a week before activating it. When I first signed up for sprint I know it was about 2 weeks after receiving my phone from amazon, I'm not sure if what the policy is with other stores and upgrades though.

It's a link to Wirefly that is technically designated for Friends and Family of Simplexity employees. But the link has been easily accessed by the public for some time now. I bought my last 2 phones from that link, including my Note II that I just ordered this weekend.

Our local best buy said they would price match the wirefly friends and family price. ymmv. radioshack is supposed to have it for 249.99, but our local store doesnt have any stock yet.

Yes it's $649 unless you're able to get the store manager to cut you a deal like I've had done once or twice in the past. I'll be returning my IP5 tomorrow in exchange for the Note 2. I hope they aren't too mad at me. Battery life on the IP5 leaves a lot to be desired.

When I purchased my last S3, the manager went in the system and marked it down to $399 since I'd purchased so many phones. Just have to be nice to people sometimes.
Im hoping bestbuy will price match it for me in a coupla hours here.

I ended going to att because bestbuy didnt even have it. $697 out the door titanium gray. I got there 5 min before they opened to discover a line, I thought my chances were gone only to find out the line was for the lumina 920. Thank goodness!

How did you guys manage to get one off contract? I showed up early this morning and was the first into one store and they would no sell me one without signing a new contract. I even called customer service who called the store to clarify and told me it was up to the manager to decide whether or not they would sell it to me without contract because they are in limited supply. I called another store thinking maybe it was just that one at&t store and I was told the exact same thing by the other store. It's driving me crazy because I was ready to fork over $650 + for this phone. Customer support wouldnt even let me order over the phone because they claim that the phone isn't even in their system yet. Very disappointing day so far...

I had an account already but I just told the guy I was paying the no commitment price and he didnt question it. Rang me up in about 3 or 4 minutes and I was done. I have no idea why they wouldnt sell it to you off contract. My best friend has simple mobile and he went in t mobile to buy his and they let him get his too with no problem.

I literally walked in and said I was buying for the off contract price and that was it, guy rang me up and gave me my phone. My brother works for bestbuy mobile and he said that sometimes stores will do that to maximize sales because thats how they will make there money, off the contract instead of the phone. So if you were off contract i can see why they would be pricks about it.

Man this sucks for me. I am still under contract but the guy didn't even ask. I have called about 10 stores and the story has been the same except for one guy who offered to sell me one for $750 cash only!! I laughed in his face before I hung up that phone. I have a business account and I finally got off the phone with someone who was willing to help me order it, but get this, they charge businesses $100 more for the no contract price...$650 vs $750. That is so close to Best Buy's price of $800 that I stop from ordering it. I will speak with my company's account rep next week but this is really shady business even from At&t. Without my grandfathered unlimited plan I would be walking out the door at this point.

Yeah, you got that right. South Florida = Scumbag Land. This is the shady dealings I have had with a major company in a while. There shouldnt be this big of an issue buying off contract. It clearly lets you do it on the website, although when I tried that it makes me set up a new line of service or I have to act like a new customer. I even thought about buying it as a new customer and then canceling the line, etc. but that it just way to much work for a cell phone. Why they can't just shut up and take my money....I'll never know!

Hey Note2 owners (and soon to be owners),
I tried all afternoon on launch day to pick up one at non-commitment price, but all the AT&T stores here in Los Angeles area wouldn't let me as they were in "limited stock" and reserved for new or upgrade accounts. I even called a friend who knew a manager but he said the same thing. The only way was to order it online as it ships from warehouse.
I do have an issue though and I was wondering if anyone else is in the same shoes as I am.
I placed an order online that same afternoon, but ever since and until now it still shows "Status: Attention" on my order status page. I did call AT&T Premier to make sure, and the rep told me that it's still being processed and take anywhere from 24-48 hrs to finish processing the order, considering that the weekend was non-business days.
Is anyone else who ordered online on launch day still show that status? I've been stuck on my old flip RAZR phone for a month now since my issue with my S3 being fraudulently reported stolen (a story I might like to tell someday).
Just wondering if it's just bad luck with me or something. I just want my Note 2 and carrying this RAZR is kinda embarrassing lol

My online (pre-)order status went from "Pending" or "Processing" to "Shipped". I never saw an "Attention" status, and I believe others here who did said it indicated that there was a problem that was holding up the order. Probably good to check with them again.

Why not order it online? That seems to have worked smoothly for most people. I did that (for the full no-contract $650) and kept my grandfathered unlimited data plan (although initially AT&T changed it to a 3GB plan, and I had to call and have the unlimited plan restored).
I have called two stores and one store says they have stock, but won't sell me a Note 2 until 10/3. I thought 10/2 was the release date. Heck I scheduled to be off tomorrow since Tmo wouldn't let me preorder since I was prepaid.
Can anyone confirm or deny the 10/3 release date?

You need to call them back because 10/2 is launch day.
I called them back...no dice. The manager is supposed to call me at 1230 central.
Dont know if you can tell, but I want rhis phone.

I called several different stores in my area and some tell me tomorrow and some give different dates. The ones that said I can get it tomorrow already have the units in stock but can't sell it to me yet. Maybe the store you are talking to didn't get their shipment yet so they won't have it until the third. Just a guess.
Both stores in my area say the 3rd. One has them and one doesnt. 27mins til I talk to the manager.

I called a store in Stamford, CT and they said it should be available in store around the ninth(I don't think that employee knew much of anything anyway). I went to a different T-Mobile store in Queens, N.Y. and the guys there thought it was a joke and said some silly date. Come on how long have we seen the headlines "10/2" ?! . Luckily I read this blog and decided to give it another shot and call some T-Mobile stores in CT. I called first one in Norwalk, CT and the girl that picked up the phone confirmed they have the Note 3 in stock, black and white....ready for purchase tomorrow 10/2 !
I did look at tmo fb page and saw 10/2. Will push the issue.

I couldn't get them to sell me one today as they are in stock...Had to at least try
All the West LA stores I've called have said tomorrow. The last store I called put me down on a list, with 8 people ahead of me. I'll be there at 10am.

I went instore today (SC area) and I will return tomorrow October 2nd to buy my note 3.

im in nyc. i walked across the street at 10am and said i wanted to buy a sgn3 and the guy sais he will get them today but sell them tomorrow. i then walked around the block to the next tmobile store, said exactly the same thing to the guy and he sold me a sgn3 on the spot. apparently some stores get them and some do not. you need to be a little diligent...they are out there and the stores are empty.
Just bought mine a little bit ago in Laurel, MD. Writing this post from it.

Went to one store in Hempstead NY and they told me the 3rd (tomorrow) and then I went to the store in Freeport NY and got it.
i got mine too. :good:
I was told that it was tomorrow by store on 3rd ave in New York but called the one on Madison and they had one walked there and got my black note 3.
Walked into the store just down from my house, and grabbed one with no issues. Looks like the shipments to Ok came through with out and issue.
