Back to stock for HTC_622 HK 2.17.708.7 - HTC One X

I'm running custom ROM and as there is no RUU for 2.17.708, what would be the best way to go back to stock before the JB OTA shows up ?

A nandroid backup you should of made before flashing a custom Rom, if you haven't got a nandroid you will have to wait for the ruu to get leaked

No unfortunately I don't have a nandroid backup. But I'm that must be another way. No leaked RUUs recently.

It's either RUU or backup, not necessarily yours.

And put this in the right section next time ....
There is a Q&A for a reason :banghead:

What I did was restored my original back up, then flashed stock recovery then relocked bootloader then ran the ruu and it wiped everything.
At a guess you'll need the 2.17 stock recovery, not sure where you'll find it unless its on the forum somewhere and the generic 2.17.401 ruu from the filefactory website.

At this time, you can't simply flash a lower ROM version as you might have. But you can "restore" an ICS ROM though. Flashing an ICS ROM over a JB ROM would cause an error during flash progress. This is what I learned so far and I even tried it> bad result
-----------------------------EDIT on 12.11.12--------------------------
My fault. As you said, step 5-12 weren't required. I've edited the Guide an now it should fit^^ Thank you
Why would i downgrade my rom from jb to ics?
Incase it has to be repaired of for warranty purposes.

It might be nice if you can put up what needs to be put in the adb or cmd. I for one aren't supremely confident what it comes to this.

There are several reasons why someone would do that. One of 'em is e.g. warranty claim.
Some users report about issues with the JB ROM's, for example the WiFi issue. Those people are surely grateful for any kind of help for reverting to their old familiar ICS enviroment
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Would be nice if someone can report if it worked for him
So let me get this straight, once I've done all this, will I be able to install the 2.17 RUU or will I still get the error that I need to use the correct updater tool?

No, you still can't use a RUU. The RUU's out there will try to flash a lower hboot version and as we all know, this is not possible unless you have s-off. There aren't RUU's for hboot 1.23 or higher. But if you do it as I described it in the first Post, there won't be any difference to a RUU flashed Device.

I'm not sure but it should be possible. I'm referring to mike1968.'s thread about the stock ROM he's providing. Its the same ROM I am referring in the HowTo. With that ROM you can receive OTA's. BUT; if you recive an update, containing a lower hboot version than at least 1.23 you might not be able to flash it.

Although I'm not sure why we need this, we know which RUU works.
Try

So I tried flashing twrp recovery and its knocked out my sensors again. I've updated to 4.04 and when I tried installing my ruu I downloaded it said wrong version but its the same one I used before I updated to 4.04. What ruu version am I supposed to have now?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
The ruu updated your hboot. The old ruu has a lower hboot version. I think you have a ruu on the 1.29 base you need a 2.17 base ruu now.....please correct me if i'm wrong here mates !

Ok So I used the ruu to find out what version I should download. It is my current version is 2.17.980.6 and it wanted to downgrade it to 1.29........ So obviously that won't work. I went to the same thread I used when downloading the last ruu but can't find the 2.17.980.6 ruu anywhere. I'll keep searching but has anyone seen it??

Are you on stock or custom ROM? Stock should have received the update by now.
If RUU is not available, search for nandroid. You could flash your current version nandroid, and then regularly update OTA.

Oke do this then :
Download here the 1.29.415 nandroid backup. Make a full wipe and restore the nandroid backup. After that you flash the 1.29 stock recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i98j4bhffkzwovp/Stock recovery 1.29.img
Then start updating to 2.17 »» 3.14
Edit : you have your own nandroid, use it and update. The won't leak soon. And this way you don't have to relock the bootloader

I think j15 requires a 415.x ruu. If so, one of these might help:

Not yet. There's no 100% stock rom out, nor is there an RUU available.
That's what you'd want to wait for, since the RUU is a complete stock rom. No ETA on that unfortunately.

Look in that same thread where you did the gpe ruu. Post 2 has instructions on how to get back to sense. The two have different partitions so you can't simply flash a sense ROM after running gpe full conversion
