I know there's a few general discussion threads already but thought it might be useful to have a clean thread that just lists the bugs of the OTA leaks so that Elevate users can easily see some they may have missed and report to HTC
If reporting a bug, please state your software and Hboot version
Bug List
1. WiFi connection cripples other connected devices on the same network
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1939630
All OTA leaks to-date are affected
Fixed with hboot 1.31
2. Recent App list sometimes shows a blank image for the last app
To replicate: Open an app, drag down notification window, press recent apps.
All OTA leaks to-date are affected
Still present with hboot 1.31
3. Proximity and light sensors not working on some batches after JB firmware update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922203
Early reports indicate fixed with hboot 1.33 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=33754165#post33754165
4. NFC not working on some handsets
Introduced from hboot 1.31 - Only isolated reports of this at the moment
Please vote in the poll: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1976249
Proximity and light sensors not working on some batches after JB firmware update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922203
After swiping up an app from recent apps, sometimes it goes up REALLY slow.
Power saving option doesn't reduce brightness at times.
As I know, HTC will release JB for our HOX in Asia on 26th this month (Just tomorrow in my time-zone).
I hope the new hboot in the coming release will fix the sensors problem。
And I will test it in the first time.
You guys, just wait my report since I have a HOX with s-off
Cool! Print a screen and paste in xda once you have the update pop up.

Only issue with mine is issue 1 and it's a nightmare. Network is crippled badly. But I just leave mine on edge to make sure I can use my wifi and not to eat through my 3G.

My issues
Sometimes I have a heavy battery drain from 100% to 80% in 3 hours with 15 min screen time (and no Wifi) which is too much. Its like it doesnt actually charge to 100%. After that it consumes the battery more properly.
Also I have issues with MTP and Windows showing driver error. If I get this error again I'll update with an screenshot.
Another bug (I think) is that you can't remove google dictation from keyboard input methods.
I confirm the Wifi and recent apps issues.
Per your request, I pull some info from taiwanese forum 'Mobile01'. I had asia wwe variant still waiting OTA now, so these are all my observations not personal experiences.
So far there are no problem 2 & 3 revealed yet.
Yes, there are reports on One X wifi cripples connected devices on the same network. Routers involved are from Dink and Asus.
---------- Post added at 04:38 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:13 AM ----------
Updates: ipads has been mention for a few times as the victims of the issue.
People who facing wifi probs somes had try to reset AP some had AP running on custom firmware. While others who owned the same router model was not facing the problem.
Media link isn't currently working yet with JB Sense. As it's now being officially rolled out I'm hoping they'll resolve that soon.

Yes, taiwanese users who tasted JB had reported this too.
BTW, AP meant for Access Point..
Hey someone here with wifi issue may wanna try this..
Turn of WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) setting in your AP.
This may solve the problems, please kindly report back your result too.

Question
Hi. i'm new around here and i have a rather simple question for a maybe big problem. Help me please.
I have a htc one x with unlocked bootloader, and mi friend told me that jelly bean update won't be installed. So i relocked it. So there is a question, is it better to recieve and try to install update with unlocked bootloader or relocked. And yes i know for custom roms but i'd like this way better.đ
Thank you.

Makes no difference for OTA.
However, you will need stock ROM and stock recovery.
I've update the op
Can anyone verify if their NFC is working ok with hboot 1.31. Mine is ok but I've seen a couple of reports.

Also looks like the info was put on there before the 1.29 OTA was released ^_^ not 100% sure as i have not long found it..
excellent thanks a lot we finally have a changelog

Awesome, i guess i won't have to skim through every thread now just to check if there's anything out yet
thanks!
As most of Europe already havve this update is it fair to say the UK will not get it
Sent from the Beast that is the HTC One X in white......
Unless some admin at HTC did not do their job correctly causing the update to fail to become available for the UK I must say, I am starting to think the same...1.28 never took this long & doubt they only have one or two servers dishing out the update...the wifi is the only issue I have & would like to see if this fixes it! I might actually never buy HTC again if I don't get any joy.
*UPDATE: Just called HTC & they confirmed that the update (1.29) is scheduled for the UK but their "server" is on automatic rotation so they can't confirmed when I will get it - either way they asked me to dial in *#*#CHECKIN#*#* which forces your phone to check in with the update server and queue in for the update itself. It's been 10-15 mins and got nothing yet but if it comes in anytime today then this feature might be worth trying - will keep this post updated if I get an update before end of today.
Better get this update.. no reasons for us not.to get it in the UK!

You type in the numbers, so:
*#*#CHECKIN#*#*
will be typed as:
*#*#2432546#*#*
If you do it right, the keypad will vanish after the last * and "checkin succeeded" will appear on your status bar.
PS Are you any relation to Simon and if so, can I have Cheryl Cole's number please?

Thanks, got the notification, I'm in South Africa.
I think our service providers need to verify it or test it or something prior to us getting it so I think we'll be in for a long wait still...
Hopefully it fixes the wifi bug, I have 5 days to return the phone for one that will connect to WPA enabled wifi, maybe I should just do it?
Ah it worked.
Just hoping the final goal is achieved...
The thing that i don't understand is, I got this update the day that i bought my HOX, a little bit over 2 weeks ago!
Which is as you can guess before 1 May 2012.... which makes me think that am I going to get another update or that was it?
Cuz if this is the power management update i can tell you guys that it sucks big time, since i cannot get more than 2+ hours screen on time, no matter what i do!!! Never got even close to 3 hours.
For the flickering: it's almost not visible, only if i use it with full brightness in dark places you can see it apart from that my phone was perfect in every way from day one and it still is.
My only problem is battery...

anyways I'll wait for the future updates for some improvements in the battery life.
Don't get me wrong, i ain't complaining cuz by my standards the instant OTA update was waaaay too cool when i got the phone and especially after seeing/reading lots of software related issues here on XDA (which i don't have any!) Love the phone and after seeing the ugly sammy S3 i can't keep smiling every time i hold this beauty in my hands...

I have sent earlier a complaint to HTC about WiFi issue with the option of 'Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep'.
Today I received the following reply:
"Thank you for contacting our Customer Support Center.
With regards to your inquiry,
Kindly note that if the WIFI issue still persist please backup your data and remove the SIM card and put the phone in a safe box not the original one and refer it to the service center in the address below and please take copy of proof of purchase and please check with them about the warranty status of your phone and please note that you have to have Proof of purchase from UK from authorized retailer to make the phone in warranty"
I will take my HOX to them today and see if they will fix it or replace it with a new one, and will let you know.

Wow this is strange. So it is not as intended?
That WiFi "issue" is absolutely software dependent. Furthermore I'm almost certain its by design and not a glitch. Back on my DHD all Runnymede ported roms behaved the same way. I guess that means that the Sensation XL also behaves the same way.
i just hope HTC dont tell everyone to return his device because of that ... if so, they could get 1 mil. devices returned this month lol
I have the same issue with wifi after i root my phone before root no have this issue. Last night i flash official ruu

Ofcourse it doesn't.. This app MAY work if under a specific battery level (i'm saying MAY because it has never worked for me).
The following is the solution u all want but u jave to be rooted.
Otherwise just wait for HTC to release a fix. It is ICS related.

I have a small problem guys....when my phone is in sleep mode i don't get my text messages....as soon as i get the phone awake instantly i receive the texts....what seems to be the problem? need help cz i need to manually wake the phone and look for text messages....
P.S i am on stock with 1.29 latest update.....not rooted or flashed....
I already had a thread but im deleting it and refreshing my question as i have not had any response from anyone except for 1 which is downloading power saver settings but that didn't do anything.....Please help...Thanx....
UPDATE: On some other forum which i was searching for on Google, someone had posted to clear the cache and do a factory reset which i did and still i have the problem...i mean as soon as i manually wake the phone from sleep....i hear the tone and text message light appears....but if there are two texts for example another one coming immediately after the first one, then it notifies for both the texts....
***UPDATE (Possible Fix)*****
After searching thousands of forums i have found the problem to be that of software. Couldn't find a fix for it but found an app on the Play Store that does the trick...The app is call SMSAwake. Write it exactly like this in Play Store and you will find that it works and actually wakes the phone up and text is received. Glad i found something..... Do respond if you find it helpful.....THANKS.....
Yeah I have simmer on my phone if i receive a text phone do not notify me when I get one sometimes it do but loads of times it don't.
I will get the text if i go look in my sms inbox then they show up iv had once where someone sent me a pic and it just disappeared from my messages before I could receive it.
Im on stock untouched this started happening after the ota update from O2 very annoying that this happens think it's a software fault thou.

I often had this problem on an HTC Touch Diamond with Windows Mobile. What was happening in that case was the text messages were received, but the interrupt from the radio to the CPU didn't always work, or the phone was waking up, but going to sleep a split second before the alert had time to sound.
To the OP, what have you installed by way of applications? Things like battery savers or shutting down tasks using task killers could be the cause.
Regards
Phil

Assuming you guys are using stock ROMs and radios it has to be something specific to the One X and the carrier you're using. It happens all the time because one universal radio designed to work everywhere is bound to have issues occasionally on specific networks. HTC just pushed an update to the Nordic countries that updated their radio so I'm guessing there must have been some specific issues identified. 2.X when it's released will have a new radio so that might help.
I assume the One X has fast dormancy enabled by default. That can be a problem on certain networks that don't support it correctly. Here's a link to a thread on fast dormancy from the SGS3 forum that might help. Beyond that, I'm not sure what else to tell you. All phones don't work equally well on all networks.

Do any of u get this bug and are on o2 UK? I think it may be because of the recent signal problems o2 have been having, as I've only started getting the bug occasionally the past few days and weeks.

Am I the first person to report this on an M8?
My stock software version is 1.54.707.7 (Asia Phone) & stock radio is 1.16.2133156.UA10G.
In my own opinion (& I have no proof to back it up), I guess the clicking/popping noise from the speaker happens after upgrading to 1.54.401.10_firmware which has the radio 1.16.2133156.UA15G.
The noise comes & goes. It's hard to replicate it. It is quite obvious in poor reception areas & I get drop calls too.
My wife's m8 is still running stock radio & she says she doesn't have this issue. So I've just pulled her radio.img & flashed it on my phone.
I will give it a few days to see if it's the radio or not.
The next step is probably warranty it.
I had this issue so badly on the m7, so when I first bought the m8 I tested it thoroughly to make sure it doesn't happen to me. & now it does
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Same problem here. After last OTA I hear popping during calls. Bad job HTC.

Do you have Bluetooth enabled while this is happening?

Does the OTA have radio update?
Did you note down your stock baseband? & fastboot getvar all after the update to see if there's any difference?
Could you try to roll back to your stock radio see if the problem goes away.
I tested 1 phone call this morning & all is well with the stock radio from my wife's m8.
Keeping my finger crossed.

No bluetooth here.
But Yes, your thought is correct. Some people have this problem while using some kind of bluetooth devices.
For my case, it *seems* like the firmware update did it.
Believe it or not, before I flashed 1.54.401.10_firmware, I was thinking "would it cause the clicking/popping noise" & it's sneaking up on me slowly.
I've rolled back to stock radio & 1 phone call this morning showed no issue. Good sign, but this thing comes & goes...it's not a fix yet...
I'll give it a few days & update you guys.
Thank you.
Any advice & input is appreciated !
Hey All was just update to 24.31.22. I think I am in a beta group. Anyhow Wifi calling is now part of the Droid 2 along with unspecified security and bug fixes..
Cool. Looking forward to it. Still just 6.0? Or 6.0.1?
Is there a new modem to go with the update? My biggest complaint ATM with my Turbo 2 is random hang-ups with the radio where nothing wants to load, or random stutters in audio when streaming music.

Yes just tried it
Have anyone experienced problem updating to the latest ota ? Mine stops with error and restarts after then it shows update not successful!
It's showing available for me now, I saw something posted about it over the weekend. Latest security patches and WiFi calling. 623 MB's, update it on WiFi.

Update installed ok for me, up to the Sept patches and 6.0.1 as mentioned. I can't get WiFi calling to enable yet.
Edit: I had to re-enable the disabled Verizon apps I shut down when I "debloated" the phone to get the WiFi set up to work. I read you just need Verizon Login but that didn't work so I turned everything back on, set it up and disabled them again. Just a tip if you disabled apps.
Update installed fine here as well. I don't care about it too much ATM though because my Nexus 6 just got 7.0.0
Just updated myself and activated wifi calling. I get marginal service at my house so it's a plus for me

It seems updating fine with everyone, my dt2 won't update for some reason.
For some reason I haven't even gotten the update ftw?

Anything happen if you tell the phone to check for updates under Settings, System Updates?
The radio issues that I was hoping were fixed are still there. Random times where there is no network connectivity despite having a decent 4G signal. I've also had times where I just randomly loose 4G and go back to 3G for a short period for no reason, then 4G just magically comes back. Never had the same issues with my Nexus 6, so I know it is a phone issue. Wife has the T2 as well, and she has random network issues as well.
I have noticed with mine yesterday that it wouldn't send a text while it had good 4g service a few times. A reboot fixed it. Only issue, besides battery life not being as good as I feel a phone like this should be, is when I am in my car either playing a podcast/music over Bluetooth and I pull into my driveway and connect to my wifi network my Bluetooth disconnects from my car and then after like 20 seconds reconnects. Not a huge issue. Just annoying. It's happened since the original marshmallow install though and FDR doesn't fix it.

I got the update like a week before my wives phone. It's that that called a soak test?
I finally got the update today. But then again I have found OTA updates very inconsistent.
Not sure if it's because my Turbo 2 knows that it's getting replaced or what, but I've had several radio related issues over the past 2-3 days. Loosing network connectivity, slow connectivity, bluetooth skips, etc. Issues I've never expected to have from a Motorola device. Thankfully my backup Motorola phone, the Nexus 6 works fine without these issues. Just need to hold myself over until my Pixel XL shows up.
I have had some weird issues after the update also. I took the update and could not get Wi-Fi calling to work. So Verizon told me to factory reset the phone. Now my Wi-Fi calling is enabled however the call Quality is poor with or without HD voice, and everytime I reboot my phone it boots to the AP fastboot screen. Then I have to press the power button to start and it will Start Up Normally.
Any thoughts on this one.
BTW, they are sending me a replacement device and I'm probably going to be upgrading to the Pixel XL anyways
