Can fastboot use over wifi? - HTC One X

My phone can't connect with usb port even in bootloader so I can't flash boot.img.
Now USB completely dead and the htc repaire center want to charge $350
So I want to try to flash a new rom without USB cable is there any solution?
Or there is the way back to all stock rom include lock bootloader without USB cable

Why make 2 threads and the only way to flash boot.img is with a pc unless you have s-off

You need usb cable for things you described.
When you boot your phone into bootloader without the cable attached, and then attach the cable, do you see fastboot usb on the phone? If you do, then first upgrade your recovery to cwm 5.8.4.0. Then reboot to recovery. Under mounts and storage you will see mount sdcard.

Look at this previous post of mine, but ignore the part about boot.img unless you are going to flash that as well.

My phone still not have a driver when I select cancel in the installation pdanet.

Maybe the install didn't go far enough. If that doesn't work then maybe you just have to do the normal installation of the Android SDK to get a driver unless someone else knows a better shortcut.

In this case my phone doesn't show the USB mass storage also in recovery 5.8.4(lastest version).
I try to re flash recovery but it's doesn't work.
In bootloader when I plug the cable it's will be show FASTBOOT USB.
But when I try to fastboot there just waiting for devices.
Do my phone brick? HTC said I have to pay $330 for change the main board.
Everything still work except USB and fastboot command(to flash new rom).
May be this problem cause is I forgot to erase cache while I install faux kernel from ncx kernel.
Can anybody tell me this is hardware or software fault if it's still fix by self please let me know I wanna learn and then
One day I can share to other thank you.

if fastboot doesn't work you are stuck...

Before you spend money I would try everything to make sure you have the correct diver installed on your Windows system. Maybe you need to delete whatever Android devices you find in Device Manager and let them try to reinstall when you plug in the phone.
Also, it's a longshot, but you might just try rebooting your PC. I usually do my work on Linux, but I had a situation (twice) where an Android tablet caused a problem on my system such that adb and fastboot no longer worked with my HOX until I rebooted the system.

That's mean I'm brick? only way to fix is changing mainboard?.
Do have another way to back to all stock?

How about wireless adb? Do this way can flash something or re install the system?

Still cant fix this problem.
Do someone have some advance solution to fix USB not response with fastboot?
I still can get in to recovery but can't mount the usb and adb doesn't work with USB debug is always on and all driver are re-install.
Ps.My windows not recognize my device but FASTBOOT USB still show up in bootloader when I plug it.

[Q] Charging but USB not recognized

I have been using my HTC Desire for a while and have flashed multiple ROMs in the past. Having got the new Galaxy Nexus, passing on the desire to the family.
On the procedure on the flashing RUU I started with flashing a Sense based ROM but my phone after the sense-based ROM phone does charge on USB but there no USB notification neither does the computer recognizes the device.
Again, on flashing CM7 or ICS, USB is detected and phone works fine.
Is there an explanation, please help.
Thanks

Hi,
Have you tried the pre-rooted stock froyo ROM from teppic74? Give that a try and see if it gives the same issue.
You seem aware of all the processes so I assume full wipes and correct hboots have been used etc.

Use adb from bootlooping screen. The command is "adb reboot recovery". Adb is part of android SDK. There are plenty of guides on how to set up adb out there and its easy.

You don´t to have be in hboot to use adb. You have to be with the phone on normally or from the splash screen itself. If you are in hboot then choose fastboot and try from there but using fastboot devices command instead.
As long as you have not factory reseted the phone the usb debugging drivers will stay in the phone.

USB debugging should always be enabled by default in any custom Rom. The thing that will disable it is doing factory reset from hboot screen. But you can't get there anyways so it should be enabled. Start the phone as normal and let it go to splash screen. Plug into pc and be sure to check that pc sees the phone. If not, unplug phone. Uninstall drivers. Re install drivers and then plug phone back in. From adb type "adb devices". You should see your device. After that run the "adb reboot recovery". If it still doesn't see it plug phone into different port. Preferably one that goes straight into mother board and remove any other USB devices that are plugged in.

any other way to enable it ?
I did a factory reset.
i just installed a new rom.
thank you for trying to help any way/
Go to settings>Applications>development and check USB debugging.
If you're still getting device not recognized, you should reinstall HTC drivers by reinstalling HTC sync. ( if you haven't installed those in the first place, then you won't be able to use adb unless you do)

When you say "factory reset," do you mean that you ran a RUU? Or that you chose "factory reset" in recovery, so you still have a custom ROM installed? If the answer is the latter, you probably have USB Debugging enabled. Just give ADB a try.

[Q] Nexus stuck in boot loop. how get to install drivers?

Hey guys i've been looking through alot of google and can't seem to come up with anything so i turn to you awesome people.
My friend got a Galaxy Nexus GSM and he bought it with a boot loop problem. The phone is rooted and bootloader unlocked. I know because i can go to CWM recovery and also theres the unlock sign on it. However I can't get my computer to recognize it what so ever not even mount the storage. I figure i need to get the drivers to install but i need it to be recognized in device manager to do it through a rootkit. I tried to install the ADB drivers but also got no luck. I then tried to get to ODIN for it to work but ODIN won't recognize it either. Is there any way to install the drivers so i can put on a ROM on this. I think the person he bought it from formatted everything and messed it up. Is there anyway i can install the drivers without getting it to recognize first? I tried it in windows 7 and in windows 8. ANY HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!

The phone is completely wiped and no OS is on it. Is there any way i can get a ROM on the phone?! This is one idea i have but i don't know if it'll work, I was thinking of buying a another working nexus install the drivers with that one and then i can get the bootloop one to get recognized? and return the new one. Will that work?

You need to get adb to work with your device, which you can do in a custom recovery. You don't need to have USB debugging enabled, you would if you were booting into the OS, but not the recovery.
You can get drivers setup while in recovery or fastboot just as easy as if you were booted into the OS, so no you don't need another device.

again, read the thread i gave you. if you're still asking this question, read it again.
Isn't that for the nexus 4? And I did pay attention to section A but it told me how to install the drivers which is the same way as every other tutorial I've looked at. My device doesn't show up on my computer and I can't install their way. As for the fastboot driver installation idk what their talking about. I followed the instructions though and got no results. I didn't do the whole thing cause for part C I need the original rom for galaxy nexus and also I don't know if the platform tools zip is for my device so I haven't gone through with it just yet. I'm sorry it's not my phone so I don't want to mess it up even further. I've read about the part with it being in recovery mode with the volume up + power option but I'm at work and haven't tried that yet but I doubt that will work since the phone is clean. Can u please be a little more specific there's 99 pages that I have to go through for that sticky. If u can't it's ok I'll just have to go through it next week. Once again thanks for pointing me in the right direction and giving me some hope.

Am i missing something here? i did everything in the other steps such as downloading all the files into the same directory and everything. You reboot the device into bootloader/fastboot mode, then you connect the USB, and there's no sign at all that a USB device has been installed?
Remove all drivers, reboot, and start over. Get a tool for Windows that allows you to really dig on all of the installed drivers and remove all Nexus devices drivers permanently. Rant: Umm, Windows sucks bad. Thanks Linus!

I did a little looking up about omapflash and from what i can see so far there needs to be drivers installed first. I may be wrong but i have to do some more research on it and i dont have a linux pc my laptop is down thanks to a power pin connector pin being pulled out. and i dont know if the device port is good or bad i can get a charge but that doesnt mean its fine. What if i get another device and install drivers via that and then try to get it to recognize? would that work?

To really make sure that the issue isn't on the host side but rather the USB port on the device? Yeah, that would rule it out.
Also, I just remembered: you're not using the USB ports of your PC case are you? Make sure you're using the motherboards' own USB ports.

even I am stuck on the same roadblock. have my GNex stuck on the google logo. can access recovery mode though (TWRP 2.5.0.0). Now i just upgraded my PC to Windows 8 64-bit and cant seem to be able to install drivers.
the problem is that almost all the methods require:
1. GNex to be connected with USB Debugging ON
2. install ADB Drivers
3. get into Fastboot or Recovery
4. install Bootloader Drivers
since i cant get past the Google logo on my GNex...i cant perform Steps 1 & 2.
and if i directly try to install the bootloader drivers the OS returns an error (yellow exclamation next to the installed driver)
Added pictures to help explain better.
Thnx in advance.

SOLVED (Dont know how but it worked):
1. Factory reset (TWRP)
2. Installed an old ROM which was already on the GNex
3. Restart...it gets stuck at the Google logo...remove battery
4. TWRP - Factory reset
5. reboot...

Soft Bricked LG G3 D855, Please Help

I am not new to rooting and unlocking Androids. My LG G3's UI would randomly freeze where I had to reboot the device to have it working again. Today I decided to flash the vanilla unicorn rom in recovery. I downloaded the rom and copied it over to the phone but the copy process kept getting stuck at some point, that I always had to cancel it.
So I decided to wipe cache and data to just reinstall the official d855 CM13 rom I had earlier on the device's storage, the wipe got stuck for at least 20 mins. I got impatient and removed the battery trying to reboot into recovery, but I was stunned and stuck on the LG Splash screen logo, I kept trying to reboot into recovery but couldn't get past the LG splash screen.
I then decided to try rebooting into fastboot, I was able to boot into fastboot the normal way without any issues but every attempt at getting TWRP just wasn't yielding anything useful. The closest I've gotten to seeing TWRP since then was with the fastboot command
Code:
fastboot boot recovery.img
which reboots showing the TWRP splash screen image without actually showing TWRP, but I've noticed I can access adb while the screen is stuck on the TWRP splash screen image.
I can't do any sideload of the zips on my computer because TWRP just stays there stuck on the splash screen so I can't enable sideloading. I have spent hours with this and it has taken too much of my time, attempts at
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
just returns with an error in cmd with FAILED (remote: flash write failure).
I can't figure out what to do anymore, I'm left with a phone that can't boot into the rom and recovery, only the fastboot and download mode works. I just need the phone to let me boot into recovery so I can flash the files I need to and have my phone back to its earlier state.
I'll really appreciate everyone's support, thanks!

I have tried using the flash tool, but I can't get into Download mode to use the LG Flash tool to get back to stock. All I get is fastboot.
There was a tutorial about using two wires on the emmc, but I haven't been able to get the Qualcomm HD_USB 9008 to show up in Device manager.

I have the same case with my old LG L90. I spent a lot of time trying to get it back to life without success . I have read another post similar to this but the wire thing worked. I really don't know then.

I saw people unbrick devices that way we propably did somenthing wrong. For the wires i would use copper wires.
Do you have Qualcomm drivers installed in pc?
I have unbricked many mobile using this pin shortening trick.it's simple.just make sure you are shortening the right pins.

I can't get the Qualcomm drivers to show up in Device Manager, even after installing the Qualcomm drivers and I have enabled test mode and all that. My com ports don't show anything Qualcomm at all.

Does it also matter that I am using a USB 3.0 port? My laptop has no 2.0 ports.

Thanks for that post. I'll give it a try again tonight, I just need the Qualcomm 9008 drivers to come up.
Cause I noticed every time attach the wire to the board, windows recognizes the phone with an error "USB device not recognized" and in device manager a yellow warning mark next to one of the USB device icons.

I that case right click chose update drivers and chose drivers manualy. Something like that should help you get device recognized

What directory will I choose to install the drivers from, the Qualcomm installation directory doesn't seem to contain the actual driver files.

I'll try to get a USB 2.0 laptop to try this on. I just hope it works this time.

Need Some Clarifications

Hi all,
After reading many posts i got a little confused and i'm not getting any result. Please help.
What i want?: Flash stock rom and later consider rooting, and flashing haden or lineagos. (already found guidance but..)
The issue?: It doesn't get recognized through USB with my PC. (drivers installed, cable connected but...)
My questions? (correct me if wished):
1) In Odin mode (which i enter) is the usb port enabled by default? or it depends on the phone configuration.
2) In recovery mode i still cannot see the phone through the USB so is it open by default on stock recovery?
3) Finally can i flash stock rom i downloaded from sammobile through SD card? i found that to be my last resort but i think odin actual proper way or not?
I first thought it was the cable...since is not the original but it seems not be the case...which leads me to think its the phone's usb port....but with the cable i can charge the phone although i cannot see it through my PC.
So bottom line if the answer to my questions are that is always open (accesible through usb port) then it HAS to be the cable right?
If last quesiton is possible then i will conclude my searchings to be ended for now.
Thanks to all the posts within this tree.
Findings
Is it normal that when boot to bootloader from stock recovery the ADB console keeps <waiting for device> while phone actually boots normaly?
I found that bootloader booting is accesible through fastboot independently from USB debugging option...
I'm considering buying official usb cable but store guy confirmed it works for data/power uses...
There definitely is a way to flash stock via TWRP, i once did that myself. However you need a dedicated tool on the PC to create a flashable zip, because the firmware can't be flashed by itself
Edit: i saw that you have FRP-lock enabled. Search for a guide on how to disable it and try again

Are you on Samsung? If so, they don't have fastboot. Nor can you boot to bootloader. Do
Do you have the drivers installed? I have yet to see an unofficial cable not work for data transfer. Excepting damaged ones.

Thanks PMFRTT!! I finally disabled FRP-lock and phone is usable again. I now will try to unlock OEM bootloader and enable USB debugging to see what happens. Thanks

To answer your question yes its SMSUNG. I didn't know about that Thx.
The cable is brand knew but i noticed now that the phone is usable that is claims its on slow charge...may be my PC is quite old now....
Like i said i will try to unlock bootloader and make it accesible to odin to later see what to do.

And to unlock the bootloader, just enable OEM unlock in the dev settings and it's ready to flash twrp. I remember when I got my Samsung and I was trying to fastboot unlock it lol.
Thanks to both of you! I will keep the thread on just in case...anyway may be it helps someone else.
