Long story short I bought a SGH-I747 off of ebay and I was just going to look up my IMEI to unlock it and nothing showed up, so I went into the settings manually and it says unknown under IMEI...Of course the seller made no mention of this on the auction page.
Dont know whats wrong but it looks like something may have gone wrong while he was rooting it. I dont want to go through the trouble of shipping it back to him so I'm hoping this can be fixed I took some screenshots of which kernel hes using...Any help would be appreciated lt me know if you need more info

Yes it's possible to fix. Take out the battery and get the IMEI number on the sticker, then follow the IMEI injection steps in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801997
I backed up my IMEI following other steps in that thread no problem, so the injection steps should work.
Good luck!
Flash a different modem. It might be a Canadian sgs3 and he flashed an att modem. Try flashing a Canadian 747m modem and an att normal 747 modem and see if it restores it.

This is actually a good point too, because it says modem version unknown. I didn't see that before.

Yes, flash an AT&T modem first. You can find them all here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1831898
If that doesn't work, try to use Odin to restore to stock. There's a thread on that here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
And if that doesn't work, then try the thread on IMEI injection. As far as safe goes, about the worst thing that could happen is you lose your IMEI. And if you made it to this point, then that's already happened.
Just my 2 cents worth.

My rooting went horribly wrong.
I admit, I rushed it, was sleep deprived, and inpatient.
Right now, my phone looks very much like stock BUT
My issue is: I have no provider set on my phone. In other words, its as if my phone is unable to connect to Sprint's network.

When I try to update the PRL from system updates, below is the result...
I used some combination of the following files:
SuperOneClickv2.1.1-ShortFuse
S2Root_1.4.3_Release
Litening_Rom_v6-1.rar
acs-eb30-clockwork-epic-touch-4g-sep-20-4-00-pm.tar
EG30-Stock-OdexV2.zip
Stock-EG30.tar
Also tried calling sprint customer support...no help
At this point, what would be the fastest way to get my phone into a state in which it is once again recognized by Sprint
I don't think a prl update will populate the baseband version.
Have you tried starting over by flashing Stock-EG30.tar ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1282420 ) and then doing a factory reset?
After that, update both your profile and prl.
By the way...
some of the files you listed appear to be for the i9100. Despite the similar naming convention, the Epic Touch (D710) is different from the i9100 and cannot directly re-use i9100 roms, kernels, etc.

Um, you realize that the superclick instructions you followed are intended for international SGS2 users, not Epic Touch?
oops. still, one of u guys must be able to figure this out. I've been working on it a lot, first day with the droid, was trying to root my GF's phone and I pooped her new toy. I was all confident cause I knew how to JB iphones. I've got a sprint ticket to get it fixed.
By the way, in doing so I obtained my MSL...
I'm thinking you hosed your modem. The first three things you mentioned in the list you tried are, as was pointed out, for the International version. By flashing these you've put the wrong radio into your phone.
This thread has a link to a modem.bin download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17617227
Search the Dev thread (sorry, on my phone so I can't come up with the link) on how to flash it. Once you do that, flash "stock kernel pulled from unrooted phone" (you'll see a link to it in the thread I just gave you). Then I think you'll be ok.
And, even though it's the same basic phone, ONLY flash stuff you find in this forum.
.....
Why are all these people flashing things from another phone? Thyself like the first rule of flashing. Flash the eg30 tar and then the eg30 modem.bin for your baseband. Thy should fix it. Good luck.

Note to self: Do NOT flash my Epic 4G Touch using international versions of firmware...
I got my galaxy note ii from Canada Rogers network just yesterday. In order to add more language option, I falshed a N7100 ROM to my I317M. After that I got no signal on the phone, and I check into the 'about device' option, I see unknown baseband, IMEI, network and so on. I had backup the efs file, but when I trying to flash back to my phone, just nothing happen.
I did research on that, find out that to flash a stock ROM maybe have a chance to fix the problem. however, I can not find a Rogers stock ROM anywhere, so I am writing to ask if someone can help me about to fix the phone. Thanks very much.
Consider yourself LUCKY you don't have a brick right now. There is a reason there are different threads on here for each of the galaxy note 2 variants. There was talk about being able to flash roms of one variant on to another but I don't think much lead way was made. My suggestion to you is, 1. find a stock i317M rom and flash it using pc odin and then stick only to the thread corresponding to the variant you have to flash custom roms!

If you hunt around in the different variants development forums, you'll see that it's possible to flash roms from one variant to another. The catch is, if the variants have different radios (LTE/HSPA vs just HSPA), you'll lose all cell functions, which is exactly what happened to the OP. That's probably not a trade-off most people are willing to make, but I'm hopeful this is an easy issue for devs to overcome.

Sadly, it seems my IMEI has been set to zero.
I can still make calls and text, but my data is on Edge network only.
I've been doing some searching and reading (by some I mean a lot) and I guess I'm getting a little confused in it all.
Would using ODIN to reset my phone to stock fix the IMEI?
I have the IMEI on a sticker on the phone, could TMobile reset the IMEI for me?
Thanks in advance.
Swap it if you have insurance. If not search xda for fix.
Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
Yes Odin will fix the Issue. Please choose correct firmware to flash via Odin.
Thanks for the response.
Trying to confirm I get the RIGHT rom for my device.
Went to sammobile.com/firmwares/
Looking at all the options for SGH-T999, do I have to made basebands to what I have now (T999UVDLJA) which is dated Oct 2012, or is that something that gets "updated" if I apply the latest rom (March 2014)?
Depends on what you had before all these problems. You must choose that same version otherwise you may hard brick the phone.
*sigh*
And I suppose there's no way to know that? I don't have a back up or anything...
Is there anyway to determine?
Thanks for your help and direction thus far!
Oh Sure. There are other ways to determine. If possible post a photo of the download screen. Otherwise type out exactly what you see when the phone is in download mode.

Excellent.
So follow directions and get files from here?: http://www.androidayos.com/2013/05/...y-bean-without-binary-flash-counter-increase/
Well. Yes. I'd direct you to the Thread here under Android Development.
Yeap. The link I posted actually takes you back to the link you provided.
Both bookmarked.
I hope to do this tonight.
If I understand this correctly, this should flash my phone back to stock with my valid IMEI
Using this Route66 I will have root on the phone and should then be able to do a CM install if I choose?
Yes and yes.
If that is your desire, then while you are in Odin, flash a custom Recovery such as TWRP or CWM as well.

... I will have to research on how to do that too then.
First concern is getting the IMEI back so that I can actually USE the phone with data -- regardless if it's CM or stock OS.
As the UVDMD5 will have correct modem, hopefully that will restore IMEI. Otherwise we may have to see what happens.
hmmm sort of seems to have worked... stuck at the "SAMSUNG" screen though.
Reading other links says I should have cleared cache before doing?
Hmmm cleared cache.
Did factory reset.
Still stuck at pulsating "SAMSUNG" logo...
Ok got into phone... ugh is stock ROM just painful. Who designs these things?!?!
Sadly, IMEI is still set at 0
this doesn't seem to have worked

Can't TMobile just restore the IMEI if I take it to one of their stores?

Flashing the modem again did nothing to fix.
One question before I flash the stock ROM, will I need to do anything besides flashing? I'm not sure how it goes, since it is an older version (4.0.3 I believe?).
I know I need to do it in Odin, but nothing else besides that. Flashing an AOSP ROM after that won't be a problem?
Sorry for the questions, just wanna make sure before trying this out.

Unfortunately no backup and my original motherboard was replaced about a year ago, and from then on I don't know the exact IMEI.
If you had the original IMEI, you could take it to a cell repair shop to change back to the original imei.
Not sure how to fix the issue since you don't have a EFS backup.
