[Q] Better way for calibration - Samsung Galaxy Gio GT-S5660

Well thats the question . My original battery its "fat" so i buy a new one, but even in the last days of my old battery the duration of the 100% its like 2 or 3 hours
And only listen music, without wifi, bt, or 3g.
So i think its for the calibration but with the option in recovery theres no.difference :/
So theres another good option i can use?
Edit:
I have the SgsII Jb rom with the mod of Jelly statusbar
-Cf-root delanoister kernel
- And im a Rom-Flash-Addict :3

There is a app named battery calibration on google play but it's same as the option in recovery. You just calibrate the battery when full and discharge the phone, and recharge again and repeat.... You should feel the difference at second discharge.

I forget to say, calibrate only once on a freshly new installed rom, only repeat the charging steps

Well. I did all the parts and the battery stills drops
Mm if i install a stock rom from with odin, makes a difference? Or im going to go for the warranty of the battery? :/

ou are already rooted, right?your warrantly is already void. but sith flashing a complete stock rom they wont ever see it

Mm yes but. I refer to the warranty of my new BATTERY. not from the phone xP
..........
What i ask is if i install all the stock stuff with odin, it must be the same performance of stock isnt? With a right value of battery

Yeah, you don't need to calibrate battery when installing stock rom but make sure you're battery is full, and i think it does make difference with perfomance between a stock and a custom rom, it all depends on performance of the phone, brightness and which rom you are using. And the battery has nothing to do with flashing roms.

Granting applications Root access does absolutely nothing to effect your reception or your battery. Notice the Big period
Installing apps that constantly run in the background, will kill your battery.

You gotta get a ROM. You will find that they are improved with more battery life than stock. And Jangst is absolutely right. Rooting.will have no affect on your battery life other than your display being up so bright.or running applications in background.

I feel ya there. I'm the same way. I am using the deodex stock rom from Bubby though. Just in case I want to do stuff later on.
I also tried different kernels and am now back with the stock one. I got worse battery with non stock kernels. People will say otherwise, but I use my phone the same daily, and I can easily tell.
"Omg 28 hours battery on one charge" <- Nope, ain't happening if you actually use your phone like I do....

Which root method did you use?
You may have inadvertently screwed up the battery stats while rooting!
So you may need to recalibrate the battery.
I resisted rooting for the 1st two weeks and I can say I definitely get better battery like with Juggernaut and Bullet.
So give this a try.
Here ya go
Try charging to 100% then
Shut off, Pull battery for about 1 minute, replace, and charge to 100% and with the charger still plugged in
Boot to recovery
Wipe cache partition, then in advance wipe Dalvik and wipe Battery Status
Reboot after 5 to 10 min, unplug the charger and reboot
Or before Flashing a ROM or Kernel
My personal theory is that flashing on something other than 100% full battery screws up the calibration! So,,
Charge to 100% before Flashing
Then only wipe Wipe cache partition, then in advance wipe Dalvik and DO NOT wipe Battery Status
Works for me
If you don't have recovery!
Try charging to 100% then
Shut off, Pull battery for about 1 minute, replace, and charge to 100% and with the charger still plugged in
Reboot and try the following posted by explodingboy70
Calibrate your battery!
- There seems to be a safety feature in Gingerbread or Samsung's version of Gingerbread that causes the battery to start draining when it reaches 100%. That said to calibrate your battery properly you must do it as soon as the battery full pop up appears.
- Download the app found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1024867 and follow the on screen instructions.

You should give the custom kernels at least a week to set in. I didn't get amazing battery until like 5-6 days after I flashed bullet kernel. I'm on stock rom as well....

Might be a coincidence but tmpbile might be messing with the towers in your area which gives u bad low reception. Low reception = fastest way to kill battery

Try debiandroid by mmb it is the best rom for performance and battery right now...
Sent from my GT-S5660 using xda app-developers app
maybe lower the cpu settings. setting the min cpu to 122mhz and the max cput to 672mhz will decrease the performance a lot but the battery life will extend also a lot. combine this with debiandroid by mmb and you have your solution. don't know exactly which governor you should use..

cm 10.1 awfull battery life

i installed cm 10.1 last night on my phone.... i unplugged it before exactly 4 hours tha batery is to 56%.... what is going on here???? is it usual?? im with open wifi and no other hard apps running... with the stock rom and open wifi i had 70-75% after 4 hours....

Although CM's battery file has never been as good as stock' due to high android_system usage, it shouldn't be %44 in just 4 hours.
Install "Better Battery Stats" and see what is keeping your cpu awake.
At 43% now after 7h 29m.
Screen 37.99%
Android os 25.61%
Chrome 6.26%
Google backup transport 4.99%
Media server 3.84%
So where is my problem?

Don't expect more with aosp/cm roms in terms of battery performance. I've tried various roms from carbon, Slim Bean to sentinel with all three kernels from Redpill, uneak and the stock kernel. I even tried to Greenify and I had almost no partial wake locks, and the most I could get out of it was 5hours screen time and maximum 12hours between each charge cycle. They still need a lot more. At the moment I've switched back to a stock based ROM giving me upto 7hours screen time on auto brightness and 24hours between charge cycle. And although, I lose all those exciting features from aosp, battery life is one of the most important factor why I got it in the first place.

Me too
If you compare cpu usage of 'system_server' process in CM based roms and Stock, you'll see there is a huge difference.
With a simple battery calibration i did last night now i am at 45% after 16 hours... Same use as yesterday!

M'Rage by MatZ69. Although I've grown rather tired of the Orange pseudo-MIUI look, it's the fastest ROM with the best battery life you can find on this site for Gio. Battery on display is mostly between 5 - 6h. No less than that.
