Hboot 1.28 and AOSP Roms - HTC One X

So, I'm a giant fan of Lord's Ice Cold Jelly, but lately I wanted to try out Sense Jellybean for the hell of it. So I go and put hboot 1.28 on my phone and try a few sense roms. Well, I want to get back to Ice Cold Jelly now, but I find that when I flash my kernel and rom my One X gets stuck on the HTC white screen. That's fairly disconcerting for me. Am I unable to flash AOSP roms now because my phone is on hboot 1.28? If that's so, how the hell do I get rid of the new hboot because that sucks. If there are any other alternatives, ideas, anything that could help please let me know, I'd really appreciate it!!
Thanks!

There are only a limited number of kernels that work with aosp based ROMs and hboot 1.28.
You can't get rid of hboot 1.28 without S-Off, which can't be done.

Is it possible to revert to HBOOT 1.23 if you're on 1.28?
Pretty odd question if it is common to someone, though I have been reading that it isn't, so I wanted a clear answer.

You read correctly, it isn't.

You cant put GB directly into the Desire, as update for the Desire GB is not ready yet, instead try GB port ROMS, like Oxygen or Ginger Villain
Here is the Desire Index, and go to links in Ginger Bread ROM section:

Ok Thank you for your answer
So, can you tell me, please, what about S-OFF, root and unlocking in case to put stock GB on my device (I found some ways how to put stock GB )?
And if I loose all of that, can I make it again as on Froyo?

S-Off information Here.
Root, unlock information Here
AdamG's DevNull rom is probably the closest thing to stock GB there is. To make it Froyo again you could Nandroid restore to your original Froyo rom, Flash on a froyo rom, or run an RUU and restore your device to an official Froyo build.

Its weird, that you have managed to do S-OFF and ROOT(ok, its not difficult) and then not sure how to do reflash of new ROM?
Anyway, if you reflash, your ROOT and S-OFF will stay, so not to worry

So, if I can have some suggestion, if you want clean, fast and most importantly stable Gingerbread, go for REDUX, its so far the best GB ROM I have tried.
But if you want Sense(I understand, I love Sense as well and it took me a while to get used on Sense free roms) then I'd recommend ReflexTSense, which unfortunately, still is 2.2, but its great HD rom, very nice, designed for big screen and everything looks smaller on original Desire(and better)

Custom rom suggestions

What is the best custom rom for the wildfire s?
Stable enough with a lot of features, a lot of internal memory for apps, visual customizable, long battery life, and doesn't lag much.. Any suggestions..
"Cyanogenmod 7 by alquez" It's the Best there is.
For Sense: Stock Euro 2.3.5 rooted with HTC Tools 3 and new Jikantaru kernel
For Other: CM7.2 by Alquez
Check my sig for my preference.
can't say that i reccommend this CM7 :s
i'm having nothing but trouble after i've installed it, and i can't seem to even get back to stock, it just gives errors :\
anyone who's not "upgraded" yet, i'd be very careful before going ahead with it for the moment :s
I had trouble with CM7 too.Installed it few times and always there was some bugs.
The most annoying was screen freezing and only battery removal helped.
but suddenly all that stopped and everything is working.
I will sure try some other ROMs,just to compare with this one.I am looking for roms without sense.

The ROM getting more exposure is going to likely show some things that need fixing.
If you can get it back on there your logcat logs and kernel logs will be of help to Alquez to address any issues with it.
I personally had an issue with my Wifi and had to use the radio lib from HTC Stock 2.3.5 to resolve it.
These things are experimental to say the least.

What was your problem with the Wifi ? I'm not seeing all the accesspoints around here... Not sure what's causing it.
Where do I get the radio from the HTC stock and how do I flash it ?

I think you need to try a little 180 on looking at things here.
The fun of this is trying new things and overcoming challenges to have something off the beaten path, custom and cool.
Sometimes it takes some trial and error but have fun with it! See it as a puzzle or a challenge to overcome.

[q] Upgrading hboot? Worth it?

Hi all!
I've seen a lot of talk about new versions of hboot around lately but what I'm not seeing is what they bring, and if it's worth going through the rigmarole to get the updated version installed and then having to modify my boot.img for CM10 nightlies to work etc. etc.
In short:
What do new version of hboot do for us?
The ability to install JB ROMs with Sense.

I wanted to try a jb rom but i was thinking if i upgrade my hboot to 1.31 or higher can i downgrade easily to 1.12.0000 again?
ALSO IF I UPGRADED DOES THIS EFFECT MY WARRENTY IF I WAS TO UNROOT?
Thanks in advance.
No you can't downgrade anymore ! Unlocking the bootloader is already part of voiding the warranty for some part...
Ok thanks but..

Thanks can i install and use cm10 if i upgrade hboot and can i use viperx?

Within 6 hours ! You can run all sense based ics roms on the higher Hboots, that's not a problem. You just can't downgrade the Hboot !
Ok sorry just understanding now..

Ok didnt relies 6hrs and this means i can run any ics rom like viperx (could u give a yes or no answer if i can use viperx) and i can also use jelly bean roms. right?
Also can i use cm10?
Sorry for asking but need to be sure to check if i want to update or not?
One more thing when u unroot and relock bootloader u can then return the HOX for warranty but if i update hboot to 1.31 can i still unroot and lock bootloader and still get warranty.
Thanks sorry for messing around :good:
You can run any sense ics rom, cm10/aosp roms don't know for sure.I have seen reports that gps is not working. And yes you can run JB roms
And yes you can return to viper x, I'm running it on my 1.36 Hboot
Warranty yes and no, real hardware defects should be on warranty, but they will try to shove it up your a** because you unlocked the bootloader....so warranty is a bit of a grey area !
ok thanks

Won't Jellybean ROM would be too much for specs of One V? I am just fed up with this phone being so slow and almost instantly starts lagging after a month's use. I need something lighter which will make sure this phone will run without noticeable lag.

Ok. Thanks mate. Sorry I am new to rooting and flashing ROM. When I try to search link for steps to install CM9 on HTC One V, I find too many results and can't decide which one is stable with minimum bugs. If you can PM me any link which I can follow to accomplish this, it would be great.
