Root the official JellyBean update possible ? - LG Nitro HD

Hi people,
I have just bought a nice Nitro HD. He still under the original stock rom ( Gingerbread 2.3.5 )
So I want upgrade to Jellybean, I see that the official release is unleashed HERE but if i do the update trough this official release, will be able again to root it ?
or is best to upgrade to CyanogenMod ?
Thanks a lot Folk's

Hummm it's seem the link from LG do not provide JellyBean but ICS
http://www.lg.com/us/mobile-phones/ATT_Update/index.jsp
on that page they don't tell you what you will get
So i guess i will install CM10, if someone have a good tutorial to do so it will be :good:
Thx peoples

Yeah, you are better off rooting, installing CWM, then flashing a ROM from there. Even if you want to use LG's official ICS, you may as well use the flashable version by HO!NO! instead of the official release, since you will retain CWM and root that way.

Ok I will install CM10 Trough CWM, so before install CWM it's not require to root the phone ?

You must root first.

that's what I thought
did you know this method -> http://theunlockr.com/2012/04/23/how-to-root-lg-nitro-hd/ ?

As long as you are still on stock Gingerbread that is fine. If you update to official ICS you must go through the unbricking guide (to the best of my knowledge at least).
Sent from my LG-P930 using xda app-developers app

It's appear it even simpler for me
because it allready Rooted !
first i saw that (SuperUser)
Then to be sure i have installed RootCheckPro
and he confirm that, so now just need to update to CM10

DAMN ! not working
I have a error when i try with CWM :crying:

How to get back to stock rom

Hi 2 all!
I just flashed my device with android 2.2
But how can I get back to stock rom (RUU_Bravo_HTC_Europe_1.15.405.3_Radio_32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11_release_121865)?
The update program does not recognize my phone?
thanks
If you have flashed 2.2 then you have obviously rooted. It is just a matter of finding the rom you want. Put it on your SD card, and then use rom manager to flash it.
What exactly is not recognised?

...the htc rom update util does not recognice my handset...but I finally managed it. I had a backup and restored it with the rom manager.
How can I add the stock rom to the sd card. I looked at the files included in the stock rom (when it was extracted when entering setup) - do I need all files? Must I zip them??

Check the stickies. There's a thread full of stock ROMs (as .zips). Put it on your card, backup existing ROM, flash from zip (via ROM Manager or recovery).

I know this is for another thread but ROM manager is a tad temperamental on my phone. Won't let me install clockwork and Won't boot into recovery. All other tasks are greyed out. I do have ROOT and I am running a debranded ROM on an Orange phone.
Will take a look at the link above

Thank you very much!! :good:
I'm not good in Chinese (null, really ) So, whether I understood right that 1,22 clockworkmod.rar is an official ROM?
I have one more question to you considering bootloader unlock. Your wrote in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2697994 "1.Unlock bootloader at http://www.htcdev.com/bootloader/(Model selection: HTC one)". Can you tell me, please, will it give UNLOCKED status with S-ON or S-OFF? Cause I made this unlocking procedure through Kingo HTC Bootloader Unlock... and it gave me UNLOCKED with S-ON... Then, with ROOT, it added TEMPERED to HBOOT screen... I'm not sure, what does it mean. Before I had Huawei... it was much simpler to customize it... as long as I'm pretty new to Android.
kinghunki, I used your ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2712315 I'm sorry that I ask in this theme... but I have no right to write in the development section. And I have a question to you concerning this ROM. Why I cannot change installation options? Well, I can change them in the installer. However, when installed, ROM doesn't reflect my choice... but install only those apps that were predefined instead... I tried to re-install 3 times... but have no result.... Only predefined options were installed each time.
Thank you very much for your time and understanding!

Well I think you can just flash stock recovery back before you do that make a backup with twrp and if you have removed system apps or froze them restore them before flashing stock recovery back & then apply the updates if that is successful just flash twrp back

Clockwork mod is custom recovery if you have s-off it will install it but if your s-on you will have to flash it via htboot with the Adb commands. Good guide here to have a look at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2711073

Not being funny there is plenty of guides on xda to help you. If you don't know if you have s-off you shouldn't even attempt the Adb commands or flashing anything as you could end up with a expensive paper weight. Before you do anything else read the XDA threads on the m8

Problem with CWM and Flashing Custom Roms

Hey guys i need some help. I took out my old Galaxy Grand Duos and thought about rooting it to get Android Kitkat ( I have an International version which has never been rooted before ). I rooted it successfully however I am facing problem with the CWM recovery. When i first installed it I was getting the 'No Command" error. I read on XDA that I need to perform a battery pull in order to get the CWM working. I did that and it worked but it only works when I use odin to flash it. Otherwise when ever I enter recovery I get the 'No Command' error. What should I do?
Secondly im trying to install this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563557 . When i get the CWM working (by flashing it with Odin) there seems to be an error which prevents me from flashing this rom. The message I get is *Cant install this package on top of incapable data. Please try another package or run a factory reset. Error in (the file location and name) (Status 7) Installation aborted*
Thanks in advance

You need to have latest recovery to flash.
Any latest recovery has SE Linux support. Choose latest version or build of your choice from below threads and flash it using your recovery..

Help is on the way Which firmware is actually installed? Which method to you use to root your phone? Please post the exact way you try it and the files you use for it.
EDIT:
Okay, lets shorten this a little bit.
Flash "Temporary CWM" and then flash SuperSU from your INTERNAL sd card using Temporary CWM.

Great idea. Youtube tutorials are kinda crappy. You should be able to FIND and READ the solution on your own or at least post the right request/question before you start modding your phone.
BTW
Ace II has kernel/recovery on the same partition. So if you want to use a permanent custom recovery you will need to flash another kernel (compatible with your stock rom) or a custom rom (probably the best you can do to your phone).
