Well since we have a thread about the nightly I wanted to created a thread on the M series that is released every month that is suppose to be a daily driver.
I installed M2 yesterday and its very stable but am starting to notice a few bugs which i will list below.
1.) Alarm app works but did not ring until i pressed the volume up button and changed the alarm volume and then it started to work.
2.) Proximity sensor did not work with the first call but worked the second time.
3.) Home button does not always work and sometimes needs a double tap.

The alarm but was still on the latest nightly so it hasn't been resolved yet. I switched back to rooted stock firmware and have found my phone to be much more functional and have better battery life.

I was using Corn and thought the same thing. I wish I could incorporate Corn kernel into CM10 but it doesn't seem likely. So many options yet a smooth running stock rom. Been debating going back for days.

I have been running M2 for 2 weeks and love it, except for battery life which is about 75% as good as stock was. I might try a nightly, as I am only getting 10-16 hrs right now. Anybody else having battery life similar to this?

Audio is works.
Bluetooth and Wifi works.
Settings fixed.

No more screen lag
Red around screen is sometimes present at start up.
MTP USB To computer has issues

I will fix any camera issues. It should not quit but I can see where it might and it's a small fix. I'll get on it. I'm working on a new build right now with a ton of fixes to make this more of a stable build because this is just for testing right now but I know we want a daily driver. I'm currently trying to fix the errors I've come across.
Should be soon and I'll have a new build. But I'll try and do nightlies.

So I flashed the aokp rom on my s3 i747. But it still has touch wiz motion settings on.
Its really annoying because if I get close to the proximity sensor when I'm texting it tries to call them.
This is my fist post ever so if I'm missing anything of value tell me and I'll post it.
Which version of AOKP are you running? (release date) An earlier release of AOKP had a MMS.apk which did that and it was removed from later releases. A new release was posted just a little while ago. You may want to flash that and see if the problem persists.

Well, on my current setup, I flashed everything one by one, and I'm stable. Not a single SOD/RR. Great battery life. However, AOKP JB is fragile, the only way to know is to test it. I'm making a nandroid right now, so I myself can test at around 3:00 PM eastern and report back by dinner time, lol.

Any RR or SODs?
I promised I would get back to you, so I am. So let me start off by saying that it is SUPER smooth. When I first booted it up, it was really smooth. One bug i found though is that data doesn't work. It says in the notification drawer that it is on, but when try to go onto the internet, it doesn't work. Also, there were no SODs or RRs. I also liked the fact that is a like a "lite" ROM. You didn't add too many extra applications. The data is a big problem for me, so once that is fixed, I will use it as my DD. I went back to the ROM I was running before. I am really impressed that on your first release, it only had one bug.

Thanks guys. I'm gonna test it out this afternoon and hopefully figure it out from there.
Edit : I have a educated guess into what the data problem could be, so I'm going to remove speed tweaks for the net.
As for the auto-rotation not working, not sure what to say about that at all. I'll review it when I get back, I'm highly curious to see if I can resolve these bugs. Thanks guys for testing! Hopefully no SOD/RRs yet for anyone!

Hello Dev, I think you should remove the word "stable" from your heading. It is misleading. But hey, I am sure you will have this rom up and running nicely. great work.
Why do people keep complaining that is isn't stable? It is pretty stable. I used it for around 20 min. earlier today and no lag, no issues (besides data). It is really nice like I said earlier. Perfect for people who want a ROM without any extra apps.

Edit : Rev 01 should fix the problems. If not, I should have it all fixed by tonight. I'm typing this from college right now, can't wait to go flash it though. AOKP is buttery smooth with great battery life. CPUSleeper + tweaks = even more performance.
However, the biggest two killers you should be wary of are 4G/3G (data) and high screen brightness.
OK thanks.. downloading now..

Because it is based on source that has SOD and RR. There have been no core framework or kernel changes, so it inherently has the same issues as the source it is based on.

Great, you can compile a ROM from source that's got broken kernel problems and patch mods in. Well, seeing as up until very recently team_kang was only releasing builds on a NO ETA cycle. The nightlies give people something to flash and tinker with. Code is merged every night from the team, so we (people lik erik, myself) release nightlies for the community. Now, Sidekick has taken things a step further by providing yet another option for the thankful members of XDA to flash. If you have no intentions on flashing the rom in the OP, i would suggest you move along.
Choice is yours, but I doubt that OP appreciates someone trolling in his thread.
OP updated. Fixed most bugs.

It is too early to tell since it just came out yesterday. I flashed it last night and noticed that the CPU was much busier at idle than the CM10.1M2 release is, and it did not sleep as well. With mobile data AND wifi off I lost 10% overnight. WIth the M2 I lose 1-2%. Perhaps a 3rd party kernel will help.
I got greedy this morning and attempted to use the Wind kernel with it... it worked for about 20min and then bootlooped lol
I'm back on M2 now, but I'll try AOKP again soon. I love that it has very few frills, and the optional transparent status bar is sexy.
I don't see the Navigation Ring on the lock screen.
I only get it when I enable Navigation Bar.

IMO:
CM10.1 M2 + Wind 1.5 > CM10.1 M2> AOKP JB-MR1
This is after about 12 hours with AOKP JB-MR1.
Once again it is only my opinion.

Yeah.. I meant like, in general. It kinda sounded like maybe you'd been waiting for it or something so I thought maybe AOPK was better or something. I just got this phone around the time cm9 came out. It came with GB and it's my first "superphone" (previously using a Sony Ericsson W810i), so I'm pretty new to modding.. only ever used CM roms..
It took like 7 minutes to boot aopk the first time, and then it rebooted during setup and wouldn't boot again..
CM10.1 and AOPK wont sleep.. but reading the comments I guess that's a known issue I missed.. Was that fixed on the next nightly?
Build 6 is out, (maybe we should remove build 5 from subject?)

Very smooth, and apps don't crash as they do in CM10.1
But battery life is slightly worse... guess I can't have everything! Antutu score is just below CM10.1 stable.

It's called nightly for a reason. They're unstable builds that gradually progress. If you can't handle the bugs, stick with the stable build.

Nobody said that they get progressively better. They progress as they add new features or tweaks that tend to break other things. Fixing one problem may cause another to show up. If every build was to improve the rom, it would be stable in a month, but that's not how it works.
The bluetooth issue has been beat to death in the i747 cyanogenmod development thread. All you can do is wait till they fix the issue. Just flash back to a build with the bt working and follow the development thread. I'm sorry if this comes out in the wrong way.
