I recently found out that I can use voice commands for things like taking pictures or snoozing my alarm. Problem is I don't have the voice commands option in my settings under language. I'm running stock att but I did remove s voice with titanium and a few other bloatwares.
Is there a way to get this feature back without having to re set up my entire phone from stock flash?
If I made a nandroid backup of my phone as it is now and flashed stock image, could I do a data restore only to keep anything I'm flashing to get back and minimize my restore time?

So,
everytime I flash a ROM, I have to manually delete and merge my contacts. Is there any way to preserve what I've already done? Will Titanium do this?
Also, is there any way to preserve where I have placed apps on my home pages? I can never remember which apps I put where, and I always get confused for a few days after flashing when I can't find apps.
Thanks
if your contacts are saved through Google, it will automatically sync them every time you log in to your Google account when you flash a new rom.
Not sure about the stock launcher, but I use ADWlauncher which has the ability to back up the screen configuration and launcher settings to SD, and restore them in the new rom. Works flawlessly

Yes! Titanium back up will do it. just make sure that you do all apps and system data.
Thanks all, tit pro worked perfectly and even restored home screens minus widgets.

So I am using the latest build of MikFroyo (4.5) and I am using the stock kernel that comes with it (stock htc kernel I believe). Well, I have had people call my phone and they say when it should go to voicemail it says that the "number is out of service." I have gone through my settings to make sure my phone number was right and it was. Then I tried using Google Voice and that didn't work either..apparently my area code for my phone number was not supported. I need help from someone quick, I use my voicemail for work. I know I am somewhat of a noob but I reallly need some help. Thanks in advance.
Do you have sprints visual voice mail.apk installed? I'm assuming it came with the rom. I would try to delete it and manually install the apk floating around here. Otherwise try to do a complete wipe and flash another rom.
I have done all of that. I even did the formatall.zip and then flashed MIUI and went back
Did you find a solution? I am having the same issue. It was saying that my number was disconnected. Now the person calling my phone hears my phone ringing, but my actual phone does not ring. I am having issues with my Sprint number as well as the one designated by Google.
Go to google voice. Like the website and call the number to deactivate your google voice accoujt
I had this same problem. Not sure how I fixed it, but after a bunch of trying stuff I'm now using google voice on cm7 nightlys.

strange issue for a sense rom? but try this..
2 questions: what recovery are you using? and did you nanroid backup the rom that the voicemail was working on? if so do a nanroid restore back to it and use titanium backup and back up the voicemail service apk, then do your wipes reflash mik4.5 redownload titanium backup from market go into manage all applications delete data and info for voicemail services then do a restore from titanium backup should work i use this method when i flash nonsense roms. hope this helps
So about 3 days ago, I installed SyndicateROM Frozen (excellent work ACS!), and while it has worked superbly (beyond the ever-looming fear that Vision Kernel 1.2 will brick it...), I have lost my MSL. For whatever reason, using Connectbot and getprop no longer brings up the MSL. I used to have it saved in the stock Memo app, however in the bloatware purge that comes with installing SFR, this was deleted. As this stupid stock app stored all the memos somewhere within the app itself, my question is this:
Though I didn't nandroid backup prior to flashing SFR, is the memo app backed up somewhere so that I might flash back to the version I had and thereby regain my MSL?
Thanks.
Only if it stored the memos on the data partition. If so load the apk back on and they should still be there.. if not I can help you get your msl with cdmaworkshop or qxdm no problem

I rummaged through, and no luck, not in the data partition. Or anywhere for that matter... So, what's this I hear about cdmaworkshop and qxdm?
Did you use Titanium or Mybackup? The data will be there and just restore the app then you can restore the data. The data is stored like all others and restoring just the app won't help if you didn't backup all the data. Let me know if you need the apk.
Hey,
I've been on holiday and the new version of ARHD is out, but requires (well, recommends) a full wipe, but I'll take that recommendation considering how long it's been since a full wipe and my phone could probably do with it.
So my question is really, what should I backup before a full wipe, and how?
I've got app apks + data with titanium backup, and seo's sense3 sms can backup and restore texts (also I get them saved to gmail), but what else?
Thanks

Hello,
use the Titanium Backup app and back up all user applications with data and system data.
With this method you back up everything, what you can move to the new rom.
Best regards,
Herold
Also, you can "nandroid backup" from clockwork recovery just in case rom flashing fails.
Edit: which is not the case really with arhd. Only themes flashed wrong got me into bootloops

i usually do "adb pull /data/app C:/random_folder" and "adb pull /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf C:/random_folder/wpa_supplicant.conf". This copies all of your apps and your wifi networks to your harddrive.
Titanium backup, apps and data only, manual everything else

any suggestions..??????????
I have got many apps including...........F secure.......
thanks in advance...........
This was also something I wondered about before I rooted.
First, if you are connected to your gmail account, all of your contacts, emails, sms, phone log etc will be synced by Google (backed up). Even better, if you are connected to htc sense, it will save all of your WiFi passwords!
Second, you won't be able to take backup of your apps and data without root, although Android market will try to restore every app that you have downloaded from it (still without data). Remember I said try, because it doesn't always work. Therefore I recommend that you use an app called "app list backup" by pun software
to make a list of them.
Third, make a note of all your home screen elements and where they are placed.
Fourth, download bookmark sort & backup by happydroid a to make a backup of your bookmarks.
That's about it, if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Might sound like a stupid question. I just unlocked, rooted, and flashed Jelly Belly, and was wondering if there was a quick way to recover your apps. The only way I've known is to login to play.google.com and send all the apps I want manually through the web interface. Is it possible to have your apps auto sync once you login to your Google account for the first time upon setup? Maybe some other way. It just pains me to manually have to go to the Google Play Store web interface from my computer and send each app one at a time to my phone. Thanks guys.
during the time when you set it up and logged into google it should of asked you to restore apps if it didnt well then your going to have to do them one by one unless of course you had titanium backup or something
I think while I was still on stock ICS and did a full wipe for a new kernel when I rebooted all my apps started downloading instantly as soon as I signed into Google. Since then thought that hasn't happened. I just go to the play store and look at my app purchase history and download the ones I had. Would like to know how to set up the auto feature, I think it might have to do with the Currents folder I have that is being backed up to Google now.

Yeah, that's the issue I'm having. I know a friend of mine doesn't have this issue. Everytime he flashes a new ROM his apps are restored automatically. On the other hand, when I sign into my Google account for the first time, my apps aren't synced and downloaded automatically. Everything else is, like contacts, etc get restored, but not apps for some reason. Any idea why my Google account isn't syncing my apps?
Just backup user apps and data through adb or a toolkit and restore when done. I've flashed all of the stock update leaks using this method, up and running in no time with everything back to normal. Don't backup system apps and data unless are reflashing the same ROM.

Can Titanium Backup do this?
