Reflashing stock rom

Hi all...
My WFS was hard bricked when i flashed this "RUU_Marvel_S_HTC_Europe_2.26.401.3_Radio_47.23e.35.3038H_7.57.39.10M_release_261695_signed"
Then i send it for JTAG repair, and they has successfully recover my phone's bootloader.
Because my phone was flashed with a higher version of firmware which is 2.26.401.3 and it cannot accept any lower version.
Is there any way that i can flash a firmware to it?
Do i need to S-OFF the device ?
Plz give any comments and any way to flash it....
Thanks...

You have to update your boot loader to 1.08.xxx or later version to root your device and then flash any custom ROM as you wish.
You don't need to S-OFF when you unlock the bootloader. (Since it will cost you to buy XTC Clip and then S-OFF with it).
Just go thru this Guide which will help you to Root your device.
http://androidforums.com/wildfire-s-all-things-root/480954-guide-how-root-wildfire-s-s-finally.html
Hope this may be useful !! If you have any doubts post it back.....
Ok thanks... Will try that...

Basically my phone doesn't has any firmware inside, because it is not accepting any lower version...
Can u guide me on which of the tutorial i should follow?
Thanks...
Follow carefully CafeKampuchia's Guide.
Update and unlock Boot loader thru Htcdev.com and root your device as in the guide. Then flash ClockworkMod recovery thereby can flash any other ROMs.
Hope this may be useful.
Ok thanks...
Will let you if it is successful...

YEAH, you are right. Rooting is definitely not for you. Just watch Jersey Shore as the Hack Kit tells you....
this is a development site and not android 101, while we can point you in the right direction and give you all the tools you need to do it yourself, we can not do it for you.
If you are not able to go pass the key, then donĀ“t try anything with your phone. You will get stuck and will come back asking how to unbrick it.
Take time to read and read thoroughly for comprehension, otherwise you will mess YOUR phone and nobody will care about it but you. Rooting is not for everybody and of course implies risks, so you are warned.

I don't know about rooting, but you are definitely S-OFF. That triangle means that you have stock recovery and not a custom one. Probably before selling it, the owner flashed a RUU, so I am guessing that you don't have root access either.
Yes, being S-OFF allows you to flash CWM or 4ext recovery. From there you can flash whatever you want. :good:

[Q] Trying & Failing to root HTC Desire HD! Please Help

Hi Everybody
I found this guide to root the HTC Desire HD.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2221039

I have rom version: 3.12.405.1
any ideas why i cant get past err191 ?
You've already got the updated hboot hence why its says 2.xxx.029 and also says locked. The word locked should have been abvious if you read that guide...
Ok so now you need to unlock your boot loader. You need to goto htcdev and follow the steps for getting unlock token then follow the steps that will be sent to the email address you signed up with.
Next flash custom recovery, I recommend only 4ext.
Then either flash super user zip found somewhere on xda (search)
Or flash custom rom in 4ext then flash boot.img found inside custom rom zip file.
Instructions for those steps are here on dhd forums just go find them.

Tried HTC Bootloader but that didnt' work so tried the AAHK2 and after a downgrade it rooted it.
Now I assume that if I want ICS on the DHD I simply download the ROM and slap it on the SDCard the hboot to install it?

Well putting the ROM file on the SD card is correct but you'll need a custom recovery to install it.

[Q] Help Needed Regarding S-OFF.

Hey all members of this forum.
So, I am a newbie in rooting. The last phone I rooted was the Samsung Galaxy Y and it was pretty darn easy! All I had to do was download the files on the device itself.
Now, as you might have guessed, I am using the HTC Wildfire S and rooting it is a pain!
Here's what I have done till now:
1, Unlocked bootloader via htcdev.com
Now this is what my bootloader shows right now:
***UNLOCKED***
MARVEL PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-1.09.0099
MICROP-0451
RADIO-7.57.39.15M
Now, I tried rooting via this forum: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195275
However, when I place the PG76IMG.zip file in the root folder of my SD card, and open bootloader, this happens:
MODEL ID INCORRECT!
UPDATE FAILED!
PRESS <POWER> TO REBOOT.
I have tried this a lot of times but every time the same thing happens. :/
Please can anyone guide me to obtain S-OFF or root without having to obtain S-OFF? I really need your help :/
P.S: I found this process to root via the HTC SuperTool v3. Should I give it a try? Will I be able to install custom ROMs after that (specifically this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183509) ??
PLEASE HELP!!
