I used the search engine and could not find a similar topic. Please excuse if this has already been asked.
Is there a way to use the alarm on the Artemis even when I have the "Silent" or "Vibrate only" profile selected.
I don't want to get woken up by incoming calls before my alarm sounds
Thanks in advance for some nice answers
PS: What exactly is the "automatic" profile ? What's its function ?
You may need 3rd party software for the job. Try PocketWakeup (freeware), that'll over write the volume settings and. give you a increase volume alarm. Takes a while to get used to it, but it is nice with a big snooze button, mp3 support etc.

Hi,
the autamatic profile function disable all sounds if you have an appointment, and switch back the sounds after the end of the appointment. Obviously this activity is regarding to the calendar entries.
Why don't you switch off the phone during the night? Not the whole pda, just the phone function of it? In this case you don't have to change to silent or vibrate mode. The alarm will work and you don't have to wake up if a call is coming, because no call will coming...

Thats a nice idea
But I have made the experience that some short messages don't make their way when you shut off the phone. Sometimes they come some days later. But I'll give it a shot . Thanks !!
You should try PhoneAlarm. It's seems to be a little frowned upon, but my experiences are good. It has the option to turn off phone and message sounds but still enable notification.
Another (supposedly more stable) solution to your needs could be "Profiles for Windows Mobile" which is offering the same options like Phonealarm without skin support.

Alarm tool
After a lot of alarm tools I found pTravelAlarm to be the best choice for me. Clean interface, snooze function with big snooze button, also works when device is locked (yes, some don't ). Big advantage is that you can use mp3's for your alarm sound and you can set the volume to wake you up, independent of the current volume.

use the alarm i attached to artemis touch 2.1 thread - first post - it works when phone is in silent mode!
Hi everyone,
I finally decided to pick one up (in the next few days) and have some questions for those of you who already have one.
First, I want to be able to shut off notifications at night (text, email) but keep the ringtone on for calls. I currently use Quick Profiles on my Charge. Does it work on the GN? If not, is there a way to shut notifications off easily in ICS?
Secondly, I use the desktop charger at night and use the phone as my alarm clock. Is there an app in ICS to do this as well. I know there isn't a desktop charger for the GN as of now but I am sure they will be making one.
I played with the GN numerous times in the store and I could not seem to get an answer from any of the workers (no one seems to have one yet).
Thanks

Plenty of apps to accomplish both. There have actually been threads on this already.
You can get apps to turn off specific notifications (even from specific callers or accounts) for specific hours of the day or days.
There is a desktop dock, not exactly widely available right now. Word is January. Pair that with some kinda clock app (or just the default one), there you go.

Thanks for the reply. Last time I read a thread about the notifications, I had not seen a reply about which apps work in ICS. Good to know it works.
I can wait for the dock. I read somewhere they would be making one some time in the future so that is not such a big deal.
There is currently no way to unlink your notifications volume from your phone ringer volume.
You have to find a silent mp3 file for notifications and use an app to set a profile that would set that as your notification ringtone for when you only want to hear the phone ring and not notifications.

The apps that handle this shouldn't just be silencing volumes, they should be filtering my traffic type (SMS/MMS, Mail, contacts) and choosing to ring or not based on your criteria, AFAIK. Guess it depends on the app.

Thanks for the idea Josh. That sounds like a good solution. I did read about an app called Ringleader Pro on another forum which is supposed to do the job in ICS.
I have another related ICS question about notifications. Is it true you can only have one sound for notifications? As of now, I have one sound for text messages and another tone for e-mails.

It should be the same as android always was. For example in Gmail set a certain notification sound, then in text you set a different sound. Pretty sure this still works.
Hi there.
As i asked in the title, is there a way to manage sound profiles? I'm looking for and app, widget or anything else that can easly switch from an "outside" profile, which means high volume in notification and vibration for incoming calls, sms, whatsapp and so, to an "inside" profile, lower volume and vibration OFF, and others. Do you know if is there anything like what i'm looking for?
I have 5.1.1 rooted on my z1c.
Thank you!
This is pretty much what you need
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fancy01.myprofiles.lite
I just tried this and i've already tried others similar, like profile scheluder and sounds profile, but no one can control the vibration, only volume and ringtones. Nothing else?
Thanks.
I'm almost sure it allows to turn vibration on or off. Have you delved fully in to the settings?
Yes i did, and it allows to turn vibration on or off, like all other apps, but it only works with incoming calls, vibration doesn't change for sms, whatsapp and other notification.
I as well as many other previous Nexus 6p owners have been noticing that ringtones / notifications only come out of the bottom speaker of the Pixel 2 XL. The irony of this is that any app besides the "Settings" app has all sound coming out of both speakers. Is there a program / workaround anyone knows of? I don't care if I have to root my phone; I want to use my dual front facing speakers!
Thanks,
~Mike
Too bad this apparently is not considered a bug, its just how its suposed to work. In my opinion its pretty dumb not to allow both speakers on incoming calls/notifications from Google.
I'm getting sounds out of both speakers when my phone rings. Not sure if this happened before I updated to 8.1, but I don't think so. Tested it with more than one ringtone, stock and custom. Now, my problem is the screen won't come on when the phone rings. I hope an update to the phone app fixes this soon.
Yes my also only the bottom one firing. Any solution?
Bumping this up, any solution?
Can someone please make a mod to enable dual speakers for ringtones?
Currently.. i am studying about sound mod on pixel 2 oreo 8.1.
My main objective is to fix the crackling issue.. btw.. i will look into this one too

I use a Tasker profile to get around this issue. Basically, I monitor the status of calls, and when the phone is ringing, I play my ringtone as media. Then as soon as the call is answered or ignored (offhook or idle), the exit task stops the media. I just set my actual ringtone in settings to "none". Other than that, it behaves exactly like a ringtone should. My task also matches the media volume to the ringtone volume while ringing, then restores the previous media volume setting. That way, if your phone is on vibrate, it won't still ring out loud. I can do a detailed write up on how I did it if anyone needs it.

That sounds like a great idea that I'd like to try. Can you please share that profile?
Like I said in other posts, sound does come out of both speakers with calls and notifications. When you're choosing a sound in settings, it does indeed only come out of the bottom speaker. I can't believe I'm the only one who has sounds coming out of both speakers when a call comes in. I've tested it with multiple sounds, too.

Confused with what you are saying. Are you saying that when you choose a ringtone in settings you no longer have it coming out of only the bottom speaker?

Yes. It only comes out of the bottom speaker when I'm picking the sound. When someone calls, I hear it from both speakers. I've tried this with both custom and system sounds.

Thanks a lot! I've only used profiles and tasks in Tasker before, but your project imported just fine. All I had to do was change your task's ringtone to mine and set my phone's ringtone to none. Now to wait for someone to call me.

ccoulterjg1 - please provide detailed instructions on how to get tasker profile to resolve the issue of the ring volume using the ring speaker configuration instead of the media speaker configuration, which should resolve the issue, as media volume is quite loud and ring volume is not (I need to be able to hear my phone ring when I am sleeping, and on-call).

Which rom do u use? Anyway go to settings, sound and notifications, and change ringtone for notifications. Maybe for some reason the ringtone file doesn't exist anymore.
And make shure to turn off all "do not disturb" modes.
