WYSIWYG App Builder - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Guys,
Anybody know of a good WYSIWYG app builder for somebody with limited programing knowledge, preferably offline. Bit like Dreamweaver for websites?
Come across iappbuild but it's online.

Eclipse has a graphic design interface for Android apps although you are better off expanding your limited knowledge.

It's tough to find time to become a good app developer when you spend most of your time doing other things that happen to create app ideas. A canned app builder would be nice for at least a proof of concept.
I often wished there was something slick like that. I came up dry in my previous searches. I recall some questionable character named Amish Shah, who sounded like a huckster, promised everything, and yet said nothing. Buyer beware.

There's that MIT app builder. I think it's **** and would prefer Eclipse, but for proof of concept it just might work.
MIT took over Google's "anyone can make an app" project and expanded it a bit... there's a learning curve, no doubt.

Thanks guys, will have a look at eclipse and the mit

I thought the Google App builder was taken in by MIT. It wasn't bad. I used it to make an app the texted my husband that I was leaving for home whenever I launched it. (Yeah, I'm that lazy.) If I were to update it, I'd just put an NFC tag on my desk. (Yeah, I'm that lazy.)

Edit: I just saw that Jimmy posted more about it. It isn't the best editor in the world but for super simple apps, it's OK.

Illumination softtware creator....used to be free and you can export your work to eclipse.

Sprint Releasing Security Update that Cripples SGSIII

I knew it would come! Since im on T-Mobile, it won't effect me right away but:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/2590...security_update_bye_bye_universal_search.html
Which takes away a basic core service that's been around before ISO even existed. Remember desktop search from Windows 95?
I COMPLETELY DEPEND on the global search mechanism on the Google widget because i keep everything sorted using keywords. I have over a thousand contacts separated by keywords, linked together with emails and pics (im in the building trade industry).
Google is known for their awesome search capabilities using keywords, how can they strip something like this away.
I need this search ability. The iphone is very tempting now.

Its really said because I think its a great feature and I use it all the time. Is there a way yet to keep our phone from installing this update? I think someone needs to pull the app off the phone right now and make a .apk file that we can install again

it's not Sprint's thing, it's Apple forcing Google to do this. I'm sure it'll only be temporary, once the judge involved figures out Apple never had it first.

Dude is a troll plain and simple. His replies betray his genuineness .
meanwhile, trolls aside, I really don't understand how Apple won the injunction with the overwhelming prior art of Google Desktop Search [released Oct 2004] and (I really dislike using this as an example of anything, but it applies) BonziBUDDY [released 1999].
to lesser extents, we have:
ISYS
- prototyped as "Homer" in 1987
- released in 1988
---- was actually a tool to search documents and databases on a private network, searched locally as well
Copernic Search
- released in 1996
---- web multi-search tool, local search functions added well before iPhone (I don't remember when though)
Microsoft Actors/Agents
- released originally as MS Bob in Mar 1995
Windows Desktop Search
- as of v4, included with WinVista, RTM Nov, 2006

Im not trying to troll, however i do agree i sounded a little trolly.
Im just pissed at Google for caving into Apple.
I own SGSII, i bought a SGSIII for my wife.
I just updated the Starbucks app, and now they have a widget. I LOVE WIDGETS. The iphone doesn't have widgets. So it would be crazy for me to wanna buy an iphone. Just a little angry, that's all. See, i still want to get ME my SGSIII the pebble while my wife has the white.
You think its a little wishful thinking if this is only a temporary thing?

Slide to unlock.apk duplicate from iPhone?

Anyone has it? Not talking about the default android slide to unlock feature, but the iPhone one which looks better and more real
widget locker. go buy it.
The iPhone slide-to-unlock looks "more real" than Androids? Last I heard the guys over at http://breadfish.co.uk/ are working on extracting the iPhone's unlock.apk. But they seem pretty busy so not sure how much progress they have made..

Screen record / multi window / screen record rant

All missing. Really? I will donate to whoever fixes that lameness.
/Rant over
edit....sigh...typo
second screen record was supposed to be Google wallet
But....you already donated to Samsung...
All kidding aside, shoehorning this into the OS that I don't believe (please correct me if I'm wrong) has been officially released (kernel and all) yet will be an ugly endeavor.
I applaud the ROM cooks for their hard work, and agree. I've done my share of donations to the Evo3D gurus, and will continue to for the future the Note2 wizards. I really doubt we'll see these features, at least seamlessly as we'd like, prior to Samsung releasing them.
While I can honestly say I'm disappointed for the same reasons, along with the fact that inductive charging on the Sprint models has been made almost impossible. (I've recently learned you may be able to physically mod the phone)
I also must admit, over all, this is the single best smart phone I've had, the only other phone I've been this excited about was the Palm Pre when it was first released (zomg true [email protected]#)
So, /rant signed, added to, and amended with a pat on the back to Samsung for delivering an awesome phone on it's own standing even with flaws. :good:
Palm pre. I'm a die hard palm lover.
I was on treocentral and pre central most of my days.
Love the palm. Wish it. Had better hardware

Screen record will probably need to be a hack as some rumors are going around about a patent in the US vs. Europe.
Why Multi-App view is not working is unknown.
Google Wallet is dependent on Sprint allowing it, from what I hear.
Inductive charging has something to do with the outside case contacts with the internal battery contacts. the hardware my be causing this limitation although there is a rumor of a hardware hack for this going around as well.

I can't believe Google has evolved so much in a relatively short time and taken up such a huge portion of my life! They have always been one of my favorite companies, and now they may be at the top. I've used their search engine as long as I can remember, of course it's my fave. They give me a free minimalist browser that even my ****ty old HP laptop can run. I bought a Google phone and fell in love with Google's mobile OS, that's free too. Then Google thinks, hey, lets automate search.. And they give me Google Now! Baked in is the best damn mobile voice recognition system I've ever used. I cant believe Google was able to pretty much master the art of talking to a phone, I seriously ask my phone several questions a day, and do it around people with confidence that my phone will understand me and speak back relevant information. It does. Throw in all the different "cloud" storage options they have for free: gmail, contacts, voice, g+ instant upload, drive, etc.. I love Google. I'll never have to enter my contact numbers in a phone again. I have to pause, smile and reflect on that for a second. Or how about freaking satellite pictures of the earth wherever you want, or 360 views from the street. All free again.
Google isn't perfect, sometimes they make me throw my hands up wondering wtf they are thinking, he'll sometimes I complain about it to other XDA members thinking the same things. I know Google makes good money off us (and businesses) through its services.. But from the consumers standpoint, Google offers an almost infinite plethora of options for FREE DOLLARS. And since Google is moving towards all those services being much more tightly integrated, I can't wait to see what they have in store for the future!
... has made my personal information so useful for everyday life!

I'm definitely interested in taking Ubuntu for a test drive, but I do have a few concerns:
1 - There is no lock screen, but the phone is still somehow secure. I don't feel great about that. Having a lock screen in place gives me the added peace of mind that if my phone is lost or stolen, I know that my data will be initially secure, and will probably remain secure until I remotely wipe the device.
2 - I'm not sure how I feel about a completely gesture-driven device. I had the original Palm Pre at the time, and I didn't find myself using the gestures unless I absolutely needed to (i.e. closing out cards, going back in the browser, etc.). Thankfully, the phone was a hybrid of gestures and physical hardware buttons. There won't be any hardware buttons on any Ubuntu phone.
3 - The device unity selling point doesn't sell me. I'd never use my phone as my home computer. My desktop and laptop are far more robust in terms of capability than any phone, and I'd rather just use those.
4 - I'm having a hard time believing that desktop-grade applications will run smoothly on a phone. Sure, developers will be encouraged to bundle a mobile interface, but I'm not sold on the notion that someday in the near future I'll be playing Portal 2 on my phone.
5 - The home screen looks crazy. I'm not a huge fan of the hodgepodge that will be files, media, and apps strewn about the home screen. In hindsight, I like the process existing mobile OS's take to reduce clutter. Open the app, then open media recognized by the app. That process keeps things clean.
Ubuntu isn't exactly easy on the eyes, either. That magenta-y, orange-ish theme is hideous. Even the font that they use sucks. Undoubtedly, however, that can be fixed through themeing the rom. However, I love stock rom experiences, so I know that a theme would irk me. Just my OCD, I guess.
It's core strength is multi-tasking, of which I'm very interested in. It seems to be very intuitive. I'd love to play around with that.
Web-based apps on the phone are definitely intriguing.
I didn't really care for the dig that they made on Android regarding Java. Java was put in place for rapid application development. On lower-end phones, I can see a Java environment being overhead on the operating system, but with my Optimus G, it hardly even knows its there. The OG is a beast.
I'm definitely going to be paying attention to the developments made with Ubuntu Mobile. I'll be dusting off my GNex when the image does get released.
