i've been trying numerous CM builds in my dinc including PONS builds, condemned, and the newest nightlys. i still havent been able to really solidify that one is better than the other. anyone wanna share some experience on which might be better? specifically ive been deciding between the newest nightlys and condemned's stable build. which do you guys think is better?
I've always like Pons' kangs for the open commits. Maybe if you ask really nicely, he'll update his build. However there may not be any changes worth rebuilding for.

Try all of Pons ROMs even his JB ROMs are mega stable.

another big question is, do you guys all use adrenaline mod? if so, with what rom? i found that adrenaline didnt have much of an effect on condemned, whereas on the new nightlys (like the one posted today), it seems to make a big difference. is this because of the tweaks done to condemned? are they better tweaks? sorry if i sound like some college girl who knows nothing but this has been rocking my mind a bit
Which ROM is best/most stable is subjective depending on who you talk to, ask 10 different people, get 10 different answers. These types of threads aren't encouraged and hence closed but you can read and join in with the discussion in the General forum here as this was left to stop further threads being opened.

So i come from the Optimus V which has the greatest dev community ive had yet to see and there was tons of ROMS, tweaks, etc.
Now I have the T-989 and there arent many ROMS,etc... And those that exist need radios or zips or fixs to be flashed after them...
Are there not that many things for this phone? And do all ROMS need some kind of fix afterwards?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
First, not flashing a radio is no big deal. You keep the one you have currently. Your free to choose a different one if you like. Second what are you looking for, ICS or GB? They are some great ROMS for both
Third, questions belong in [email protected]

Whats the difference of the radios then?
Id prefer ICS, but not too picky. All the ROMS Ive seen have issues.
And lmao yeah, sorry, Im not dumb enough to notice that.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk 2
Different radios may provide better data/signal in your area. You will have to try a few out and see which one works for you. Make sure you are flashing the correct one. Ics radio on ics rooms only. GB radios on GB roms.

Depending where you live, some radios can give you better reception and data speeds. If the one you have works, stick with that one. We only recently gotten ICS source, the devs are still ironing out the bugs. As for GB, Juggernaut and Darkside Digital warfare are the way to go. Those are very stable, established ROMS with few bugs. Find them in the development thread.

What rom were you running on the OV? I also came from the Optimus.

Thanks for the radio info. & Darkside and Juggernaut seem like the only real options. But they each have issues, no?
On the OV I switched alot, but I ended up just keeping a backup of Backside and Harmonia. Id switch between the two when ever I want. I couldnt decide between the two. When my OV kicked the bucket i was on Harmonia. Id flash CM9 once in a blue to play too.

Darksides are great, but still based on Samsung TouchWiz. CM9 and AOKP are built from ground up but require a little more knowledge and research to get setup correctly. If you just want it to just work no messing around , go with Darkside for now, if you want to have a true Android rom go with AOKP of CM9(but you really need to know what you are doing and follow their respective threads if using these CM9 or AOKP)
Jugg 5.0 is by far the best GB ROM for t989...but who wants the old ROM...ICS is the only way to fly

Yeah backside was my favorite rom for the OV. I would suggest either CM9 or AOKP. We have official support for both of them. Unfortunately ICS source has only been out about 2 weeks, so both have some bugs. They are quickly getting fixed though. Read through the last few pages of their respective threads to get an idea of what's up.

Bug fixes mostly. There are daily changes. But if you want to use CM9 there is an unofficial nightly you should use that has call audio fixed. These fixes haven't been incorporated into CM yet so they aren't in the nightlies

AOKP and CM9 are both officially supported now that source is out.
I'm not sure what "setup" is involved in them though. They were like setting up any other ROM for me.
Hey everyone, simple question!
Will CM9 stop development now that CM10 is out? Ive ran CM10 for like 5 hours, loved it. And noticed its a lot like CM9. No new tweaks for anything. New interface (Due to jellybean) but other than that its pretty much a lot like CM9. So will they stop making CM9 builds? Like will they stop making RC's or a stable build and just focus on CM10?
Once they officially move to CM10, yes, CM9 development will stop. They will then maintain CM10 and CM7 for older devices. I'm too lazy to look, but I'm sure some Googling would find for you where they said that.

There isnt much about ceasing development for CM9 to better focus on CM10. I was hoping someone on the CM team could give me a definite answer. I mean there is so much work done for CM9 i cant see them just dropping it. Maybe after a Stable build is confirmed they will focus on CM10. There are lots of bugs in CM9 yet.

I think the bugs your referring to on 9 will eventually get worked out on 10. JB is basically a refinement of ICS.
The only reason I say this is because a few of the bugs I had in 9 are gone now that I'm using 10. Even though I have way more bugs now using 10...lol.

You know just some little bugs, but some were very obvious like, audio & system sounds are much improved. In fact I couldn't even here system sounds at all, but now they're clear as day. On 9 my audio would mute when I received a notification while listening to music/podcasts, now it resumes like it should. My soft key lights function all the time now and don't just come in when they want to.
Now this is just my opinion, but I think since 9 & 10 are so closely related, that they'll just incorporate any remaining bugs from 9 and focus on JB. ICS will naturally benefit from all the work on JB. Again, just my opinion

I've been running 10 for a few days now and it's pretty sweet. Definitely has a ways to go, but CM9 RC2 is quite stable, so I almost think CM9 & 10 will in essence become just CM10, and that's were all the focus will be.
Personally, I'd be very happy with that. I can't believe how far cm10 has come in such a short amount of time. Team Chopsticks have done an amazing job with ICS and now JB.

I finally had enough of the stock rom and would like to try a custom rom. CM9 or CM10 based. However, looks like MURI has this video playing bug and the other one has the wifi issue.
For me, most important things are :
1, wifi,
2, camera/camcorder
3, battery
4, video
so, any recommendation? what is the most stable, bug-free rom?
Thanks,
Well first off this should be in Q&A....
Dkstunnas cm9 has it all

I just got out of dk's cm9 because the camera works sometimes and doesent some other times so i went back to ViperInc even though it has a strange performance issue and now overclocking
Evervolv is as smooth as it gets but its a work in progress, the camera doesn't work at all yet and bluetooth is also not working. You have to add the ssid manually in order to use wifi but it's smooth as butter.
Wow, now not only has the Q&A section merged with the general section, it has merged with the Dev section as well. Pretty soon, the incredible 2 forums will be nothing but a mosh pit of questions.
Results vary. Try and see.

To the OP. Just go for ViperINC 1.2.0 or better.
Make sure you wipe about 5 times and remove all traces of any previous ROMs (including hidden folders on your SDcard.
Camera issues = ZERO once you open the camera and uncheck "Face Detection" under camera settings.
Beef it up a bit with V6 SuperCharger
VERY zippy ROM with no lag now.
Your mileage may vary, but for me.... it is the BEST Rom for the Dinc2 period.
I'm gonna recommend miui. It has fixed video playing bug. So zero bugs I think. Amazing camera.
Try that

running the last aeorvan cm10 version, very solid, but still some issues and wondering if there are any more up to date / more stable roms?
Stability is my main thing.
Has anyone switched from aerovan to the paranoid chillybean rom, thoughts?
Thanks and happy new year!

I ran CM10 for a long time. I think Pacman rom is at least as stable as CM10, and I don't get the multi-boot problem I always had on CM10. I love having the AOKP tweaks and the CM10 power widgets. It's worth a flash.

Been looking to make the move from Stock ROM to a Custom ROM. Really like the looks and features of LiquidSmooth but don't know which version would be a fairly stable build. V2.1, V2.2, RCs, Officals, Nightly, etc. I'll be using AT&T or i747 (d2att).
What would you recommend.
I recommend you trying them out for yourself and you decide.
Your likes are different from others and what works in your phone may not work for others...
Get anything with "stable" or "official" in the name.
Anything with "nightly" will have a couple of bugs in the rom.

I'll do some more reading. Did see that on RC2 but thought I'd ask in the hopes someone might have had something not yet posted.
I put this on my device yesterday and very glad that I did.
Previously I had Hellybean, and cyanogen 10.1.3 on phone. Helly crashed too often and cyanogen was a battery hog. Plus, cyanogen is not nearly as stable as one would expect from it being such a popular Rom.
Butt I've found that carbon has all the right tweaks, battery life, etc etc.
Any thoughts on this Rom? Should I be updating it daily since it is a nightly our can I just stay with the one I have right now?

firstly, this is the wrong thread to ask something this thread is specific for development purposes, asking questions about a rom in their specific thread is ok, but for general questions there's a different part of this device's forum
secondly, its not needed to update on a daily basis, nightlies do tend to fix some sort of issue or bring some sort of improvement to the rom, its basically depending on what has changed (see the changelogs for that) in order to decide to update or not.
If the rom works as it should, then just update whenever you feel the need to update, but what i mostly do with roms like pac and such who release a new nightly every day is to download it, wait for a while and see if anyone starts complaining about issues coming with the new release, if there's none i simply flash it myself. And sometimes i simply don't feel like updating it every day and i'll wait a week or so (depending on if i'm still on that rom or if i'm trying out a new one )
nightlies don't necesarily mean that everything works as it should, instead something might get broken while something else has been fixed.
speaking of cm, there's a lot of custom roms a lot more stable than cm is, and i'm honestly not expecting for that rom to get any better with a lot of the devs leaving and starting the omnirom project
i do have high hopes for omnirom though
I'll check out ommirom.
I didn't see any listings for a section specifically for Carbon ROM. If you have a link that would be awesome.
