How can 4g get good signal but I have no service

Think of 4G like Wifi...(it is in fact Wifi's humongous younger brother, built for wide scale) Wifi and Wimax and 2G/3G and Bluetooth are different radios. The 2G/3G radio is the one all mucked up.

because 4g service is from Clearwire , and not sprint

I think I also hag a 3g signal happens two times today .last night I installed a Archidroid don't know if that caused my no service also I don't get a roaming warning anymore .I'm all stock

Had that happen to me except I had full bars but no cell service. When I turned 4g off, the 3g symbol would cone back but no data. Reset fixed. damn los.

3G Icon

I've had my S2 since last year November, and today was the first time I've ever seen the 3G icon on the status bar. Has that always been there on a stock rom!? I'm usually always on a 4g icon or Edge on a low signal area. I have never seen the 3G icon ever pop up on my phone

I wouldn't mind it too much. With T-Mobile, 3G and "4G" = same thing.

Exactly the same issue here. Its always Edge or 4g. Odd.

Its not a photo shop. In areas where AT&T has agreements and 3G only, T-Mo phones pick up on that. I have family that lives in one of these areas so.. he is right.. Its happened once to me, which that was the only area that I knew about that was a 3G-only area, every where else I go is yes either EDGE or 4G.

I rarely see edge on my phone 3g-4g all the time every once in a blue moon I see edge

Sprint Galaxy S3 users

Hey fellow S3 users just a recommendation about data speeds. I was having pretty slow speeds on 3g at home so I decided to Do some changes. I went to settings/mobile networks/network mode and select the cdma, lte, evdo setting and it will restart on its own to change settings. After doing that change it appears that my Internet became faster. I know it's not scientific fail proof test but it's worth a try.

What planed do u have from tmobile. 2gb, 5gb or 10gb? If u used up all your gb, it will automatic put your internet speed to 2g

i just got upgraded to the unlimited 5gb, i get full bars of 4g but 2g speed
my campus is a dead zone

Mine has been pretty decent...tested at different spots around N Fla

sigh, if i walk out o my campus and go on to another school i can get 8.8 Mbps :silly:

Will modem make difference in 4G speed?
Assuming there a modem out later

Make sure they actually have your upgraded plan in the system and your not being throttled. I've had that happen before. Good luck!

Idk but I havent noticed anything for 4g related..like no toggle settings .. when im out I get 3g ...is the note 2 4g capable?

Its an LTE device but if you dont LTE coverage in your area you will remain on 3G until sprint activates it in your area. *you may have 4G in your area but LTE is different

I noticed that too, however after looking around it sounds Like a lot of new phones are set up to automatically detect and connect to 4g. If it doesn't connect it may not be in your area yet. If you want to try to force it go into settings and uncheck and then check connections optimizer. That will force a scan of available networks.
