[Q] Which JB Rom are you running? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I like how stable my stock rooted ICS is, but I want to try a JB Rom. Which one would you guys recommend? Most important thing (for me) is for it to be stable and bug free (as much as possible).
So, to those who have tried many of the Roms in the Dev section, which one would you say is the most polished?
Thanks in advance.

I've been running AOKP JB since my GS2 and have had no problems whatsoever, none that weren't self induced anyways. Rock solid and smooth like glass, especially with the KT747 kernel.

running liquid smooth, everything is great except i can't get LTE to work

Thanks guys. I'm on the US AT&T Network. Having data is important. Sorry I forgot to mention it earlier.

The most polished? Hmm that's a tough one since they all have bugs, but nothing that wouldn't be considered a DD.

I'm running Paranoid KANGdroid, a mix of CM10, Paranoid Android, and AOKP.

Ran liquid smooth for a while loved it. Only problem was video recording had very low volume. Otherwise flawless.

I've tried many (not all) and for me the most stable are aokp and liquid smooth. I haven't tried CNA but I'm sure its rock solid too.

Thanks guys. I'm trying AOKP now, so far it's good. I miss TW though.

I am running DrewGaren's JellyBean747 Milestone6. It is stock with TW and for me is running perfectly.

I'm running Codename Android 3.6.6. Been playing around with it a couple of days. So far, I'm loving how clean and polished this rom is. Only flaw I can really see in this build is that A2DP support seems to be broken. Here's hoping that version 3.8.0 fixes that:fingers-crossed:

I'm also running DG JB M6 and loving it. The only thing I can say that I'm having a problem with is that it says 4G when I'm in an lte area. I'm getting lte speeds, but it just doesn't say it in the earlier icon bar. No complaints about that.
I can't wait for the M7 to be released shortly. I haven't tried any other rom as of yet. Haven't found a reason to leave DG and his great work.
One thing that I would like is to have the abity to over clock the gpu. As far as I know that can't be done on the kernel that DG uses. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Can anyone suggest another rom that is a reliable?
I'm in Canada running on Rogers.

I had problems with Liquidsmooth, it would constantly restart and close apps. I have not had any of those issues with AOKP, BAKED, asylum, or the Stock Rooted. I used TWRP for all my flashing.

I am waiting for DGs 1.2 serenity at the moment.. just a question tho.. not sure on all the cm10 aok tw names.. but is there a rom that looks and feels like Nova launcher.. i like the fact you can fit more apps on the screen and more at the bottom.

Well I'm about to put on the new JB M7. I'll report back with how it runs good me.

AOKP - i have tried them all and this one has been the most stable

RootBox 10/25 nightly

i've tried out AOKP and CM10. both are great. thinking about switching to a TouchWiz custom ROM now. looks like i'll be choosing between drewgaren's Milestone 7 and Serenity 1.2

Most stable 4.0.4 ROM?

Whats the most stable 4.0.4 based rom? I love AOKP and ive been running M4. But im looking for more of a newer system based rom. The battery life from 4.0.3 to 4.0.4 i believe is a hell of alot better.
Flash the newer build of Aokp its rebased off 4.0.4. It's been out for quite a while

Well you're like one of the only ones with issues. And the OP asked for a stable ROM , not a lame-not ROM. I'm personally running CM myself , just threw a suggestion let him test the waters and pick the best one that works for him.

Official CM 9, is bulletproof stable. And has longest lasting battery life out of the dozen ROM's I have tried.
I can't even imagine how awesome RC1 of CM9 will be.

Another vote for stock 4.0.4. Currently using my own build of aosp. Deodexed, rooted+busybox. Quite stable.
I've bounced around to several of the roms mentioned here and I have to say all of them have been pretty stable. I've used several for over a month, others weeks at a time. I'm on MIUI now.
All are pretty stable. The differences are the extra features and speed. Some stagger while others zip along. I'm sure most work well now. Most will have the same common extra features normal in a custom rom. Most of them look and feel the same after you get it setup.
My problem is I'm getting bored. The roms are so stable and perfect that I have no reason to flash and most devs aren't putting out many updates because of this. Only CM9 and AOKP update nightly. Others go for weeks. I'm was running Axi0m from March 4th. I finally got the itch to switch to MIUI.
I'm waiting on Gummy to release a new rom and Team Bamf.

Looks like CM has more popularity then i thought. Ive ran with 4.0.4 AKOP but it seemed problemmatic to me. I also run francos kernel. And always update to the latest nightly.
Maybe ill give Build 31 a shot again. Im tempted to try CM9 now though. Although i thought with 2nd init roms like CM9, atleast thats what they called them when i had it on the droid x. It was feature filled, but battery life was terrible.
AOKP b31- Francos Kernel
I recently bought my Galaxy Nexus. Immediately rooted it and tried a couple of ROMS. I was looking for stability with features.
I finally installed Milestone 4 and found it stable; however, not smooth or fast enough as 4.03. After seeing all comments in the AOKP thread I tried B31. Have been using it for 3 days with Francos Kernel Milestone 2.
I love the features, stability and smoothness with which the ROM works and have had no FCs or reboots at all.
In my view-If you want stability with a host of features then, nothing better than AOKP B31 with Francos kernel.
All the best with the upgrade.
Bluetooth Problems
Did CM9 and/or AOKP get the bluetooth problems ironed out that I read was introduced by 4.0.4? That's one feature that has to work for me.
Using Liquid Smooth Rom 1.25 - Pretty stable and fast, a lot of neat features ...
Flashed imoseyon leanKernel v3.2.1 but my phone was heating up (Didn't even touch the processor speed or voltage ) now using Franco Kernel (Battery life not good) - Give it a try, maybe the above mentioned kernels might work for you ....
Now going to try Trinity .....

Which ROM do you use/recommend and why?

I rooted and flashed my SGS3 yesterday to Kyan(?) because it looked like the most robust build.. it's nice but the data just didn't work so i had to revert back to original for now..
So it got me thinking.. which ROM do you recommend and why? and... Any idea how to fix the data issue?
AOKP because its nearly perfect and I haven't had any issues with it.

JB ROMs are not yet fully baked (Netflix doesn't work, screen flickering, etc.etc.), and other random annoyances depending on the particular ROM in question.
As a result, I've decided to stick with ICS ROM's for now and Ariel 2.0.4 seems to be about the cream of the crop from a combined feature/function perspective.
Just my $.02

That's good to know, but it doesn't change the fact that there are typically little quirks and wonky parts of JB ROMs that keep me from using one as a daily driver, hence my endorsing an ICS ROM below.
Netflix was just an example of what had been a common problem among early JB ROMs, and while it's cool that's been fixed, there are invariably other easter eggs that don't seem to exist in ICS custom ROMs, I guess is the point I was trying to make.
Of course, to each their own; what might be important to me might not be to the next person, but that's what makes the ability to flash any/all ROMs and then nandroid back if you don't like them, so cool.
-Ryan

I use Kyan ROM because it is rock solid stable, has good battery life, takes away all of the bloat and lets me add back stock apps via CWM if wanted. I am waiting to go to an AOKP 4.0.4/4.1.1 build such as Task and Ktoonz or Cyangenmod. However, they all have bugs and I have very little tolerance for technology that does not cooperate with my expectations. So until the bugs are worked out, Kyan ROM for me.
which rom is the fastest without overclocking? I found that quadrant scores have been the best on stock. I've tried it on CM9, CM10 and kyan, but they all produce low scores. GTA 3 gets laggy on CM10 too, gonna try it on stock and see how it performs.

excuse me for my noob question, but how do you debloat stock rom?
Go in with a root enable file explorer and remove all the stock and carrier added apps that you don't want/don't use. You can also find different flashable zips that fix and/or enable/disable certain "features", such as the continuous wifi connected notification, enable native tethering, etc. A lot, if not all, of the customized stock roms include these and others by default. I'm actually downloading Ariel right now to try it out as it seems to have a lot of this done already.
I vote aokp, rock solid stable, and extremely smooth.
You should really try a cm based jellybean ROM, if you haven't yet, you'll be amazed by how fast and smooth it is compared to stock.
Ariel is the best stock rom nothing compares to it, its bug free free has aroma installer, where you can choose what mods you want to flash in cwm and has more features than any other stock rom hands down the best.

What : AOKP 10-13-3012 paired with ktoonez KT747 kernel
Why : smooth as silk, nothing i've tried to do hasn't not worked (yes thats a double negative, thats how awesome it is) and paired with the undervolting capabilities of KT747 the battery life is amazing
What more could you ask for in a rom/kernel combo.....other than maybe a sammich
I've used PA, CM10 and AOKP, but im on SlimBean for now. Use to use CM10 as DD but its been very buggy lately. Tried PA for a few weeks but hybrid mode is nothing special, and AOKP had bad battery life for me. SlimBean is ok, not the best but good enough to be a DD. Battery Life is decent. Never tried Baked rom yet but it looks interesting...
I don't really feel like I have a DD just yet. I'm still going thru the searching process for one. For a while, I was using Blazer, then I switched to a couple different JB leaks. I ran a couple different versions of Drew Garen's JB Roms: Milestones 2, 3 & 3.5. They weren't stable enough for me to use daily because of too many force closes and random re-boots. Then I switched to Graffixnyc's BlackJelly: Versions 0.6, 0.7 & 0.8.
I like the theming done in BlackJelly. But lately in V0.8, I've been getting random re-boots. I'm going to test drive Serinity next (probably flash it later today).
I'm really just hopping around sampling everyone elses theming until the official JB is released, then I will probably flock to the one I liked best with a stable ROM. By the way, I don't use any touchwiz, I prefer to use Nova Launcher.
I haven't tried any CM10 or AOKP yet. I'll probably do that when it moves away from nightlies (not that the JB leaks are more stable by any means).
I use liquid rc5, tried switching to pa 2.21, and aokp build 4, but nothing seems to work as well as liquid. New play store installed and working, and as well as jb flash player. Battery is good, but and i never had strong 4G where I'm at, and but I get 5 bars consistently here with liquid. I love it as a daily.

[Q] Stable Verizon Galaxy Nexus ROM for girlfriend

My girlfriend has been using a few custom roms that I've flashed for her on her nexus, but shes been having multiple SOD's and random restarts and other stability issues on 4.2.1 roms (tried a few). I would like to know the most stable rom/kernel combination that you have used in the past, 4.1.2 is preferable if the stability is better. Just basic rom features is all she needs, but stability and speed is most important, I feel pretty bad for giving her roms with some issues that I haven't experienced on my sgs3.
Thank you all for the help
If you are looking for stability and simplicity go with mmuzzy French vanilla rom. Its smooth and stable. If u want stable with mods go with carbon rom. Its fast smooth and good on battery life.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Thank you, I'm going to try flashing MMuzzy toro tonight and see how that works out
stock
yeah get her on 4.1.2 before she complains that you "broke" her phone lol. anyways i only use 4.1.2 roms right now, and i can tell you that jb sourcery 3.1 and liquid smooth 2.0 RC9 have both been straight shooters with great performance and not a single SOD in either of them
I just flashed MMuzzy's French Vanilla rom and my word is this thing awesome. Almost indistinuishable from stock. I wish I had a friend who had the GSM Gnex so we could compare features.
If you are looking for a few more features without losing stability I strongly recommend Nexus Evolution. The current version is from Jan 4 and a new version is likely to come out today or at least very soon

I second this one. Jedi Jelly 6 is very smooth. My only issue with it is that it's based off of a leaked AT&T ROM.
I believe ptmr3 (the dev) is working on a new version that is based on the recent 4.1.2 release specifically for the SGH-T989.
I switched to an AOSP based ROM and I'm never looking back despite wifi calling being a cool feature, but I never used it. Anyway, I've been using 2.2 Slimstars which was pretty great. The updates seemed to be a little unstable like the camera not working. Is the new one, 4.12 pretty much fixed? And are there many changes with 4.2.2? I may try PACman. How's that stability wise? Stability and speed (I just want it to work without waiting you know?) are priorities.
ptmr3's Jedi Mind Trick JB 2.1 is by the the fastest and smoothest and glitch free rom out there
I have tried almost all roms of the ICS and JB flavour
personally I do not like non touchwiz roms
and all CM and AOKP 4.2 roms do not support MHL output or Bluetooth mouse properly
everything seems to work on JMT except for OP known issues
