[Q] i flashed Advanced Stock Kernel, can i OC my Arc now? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i've Flashed Advanced Stock kernel .587 on my Arc, then installed Sparta Charge ROM and tried to OC my device a little but i cant find a way to do this. I used X-Gamer Rom + DooMKernel before, and i could OC with no problem using CPU master by AnTuTu.
i dont know if there is a problem with the Kernel Itself, or this is just incapable of OC. maybe my LT15i is not compatible with this Kernel, idk.
I tried to find a related post, but i couldnt find it.
Thanks

Find out if your kernel supports OC.

no,i install at original rom...
I understand that u flash dixperia on stock rom and now u have stock kernel.
I think that u should try a custom kernel and i give u example - doomkernel, which is recommended by them too
Sent using r800i with DoomKernel v10 (1.21ghz)
Dixperia ROM has built in DOOM modules...therefore wont work with stock kernel....either you flash the stock wifi modules which u can find at the doom kernel post...or use the doom kernel...not sure...but try...
Wi-Fi should work on Stock Kernel too, but please try to apply DooMKernel with Wi-Fi fix and reply back how's going after this .

[Q] Best rom + kernel?

What's currently the best combination, stable, fast, no bugs?
And is there a good bug free ics rom out there? I'd like to give it a try.
Thanks in advance
I unlocked bootloader today, and I'm on .58 fw version, 2.3.4
I have: Stock Rom 2.3.4 + DoomLoRD's Kernel.
Full touchpad support and fast without bloatware.

Any idea what changes were from 2.3.3 to 2.3.4?
Advanced Stock and Darkforest ICS.
Unless you want to game correctly/heavily.
Then id suggest staying where you are.

That's basically my predicament. I really enjoyed ICS and pax's modified kernel, but you can't play PSXperia games on ICS. Back to stock ROM I went...
on my opinion , use 2.3.4 + sony's default kernel + some tweaks
as i experienced (( i've checked all kernels )) , all kernels have some bugs , just sony'y default kernel is #1 .
but you can try , if you want

Here you go.
And for best ROMs, I prefer CM9 by FXP. Touchpads work like they should (at least in Minecraft).

I second this.
I use JokaWild v2.5 w/ v13 Doomkernel. It is super fast.

arc s with ICS is SLOW

hello,
I have Xperia Arc S stok ics 4.0.4 , Kernel 2.6.32.9 -perf , build 4.1.b.0.431
My question is why the phone is So slowly????
I thought that ICS should speed up the phone....
I can do anything about it?
thanks
use arconium ics 3.c with arcknight kernel
its fast and stable for me
i believe the stock firmware you are using is bloated with useless app and isn't optimized like what devs used on their custom roms

mate i am using 4.0.4 right now and it is as smooth as gb .64 if not faster. i notice my live wallpaper is much smoother too, but it might have to do with the software rendering enabled on arconium 3.c
apps and games compatibility can be a problem, but cmon im sure the devs will update their apps for ics too.
the only app i had problem with was temple run. touches didnt respond well, i swiped and it jumped instead. its a boring game anyways
EDIT: you can overclock your phone using setcpu after installing your new rom to get more performance
old setcpu: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=505419
for your reference, this is my setup
Model: LT15 Xperia Arc
Rom: Arconium 3.c with Barebone Install
Kernel: ArcKnight Kernel RC2
SetCPU 3.0.5
Governer - OnDemand
Scheduler - sio (Stock: Noop?)
Min Freq. Clock: 134Mhz (Stock: 25xMhz)
Max Freq. Clock: 1.4Ghz (Stock: 1Ghz)

I tryed many kernels, Im almost sure that Sega kernel is the best for gamming and battery life, also you can try the "advanced stock kernel" (stock kernel with CWM)
try trinity kernel or arcknight kernel 3.3. depending on the governor you use it can make a huge difference.

The problem is that Sega kernel maybe doesn't work good together with the current ROM that's installed on the phone and that will lower your chances to getting good performance / battery life..

stock kernel give longer battery life, is that right everyone?
Yes, stock kernel is the best for battery

Is it possible to have GB's system and ICS/JB's UI?
Coz i think the most impressive thing of ICS is its UI.

Hello guys im just wondering what is the best recomended kernel for gin2jelly ROM and what version? it says "flash your favorite kernel" im new here thank you for responce
Personally, I use Lupus Kernel ( this on : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849536 )
