I'm sure some of you know of me and my recent phone problems of it having a random bootloop every few times I press the Bad Power Button I've had. I found a solution for a while which consisted of 2 apps, One that's a widget that allows me to lock my phone and another which is an app that allows the sensors on my phone to work continuously so that If something moves in front of it it will turn on. Now One day as I sat down i heard a faint vibration and finally noticed my phone fell into a bootloop once again.. I did the normal and tried to make it to Recovery Mode and then Wipe the Cache..After many many tries... More than Normal.. I finally got into Recovery Mode and wiped my Cache..But even after doing so it fell into the bootloop once again shortly after I finished wiping cache..Didn't even get a chance to hit "Reboot Phone". Did the same thing a few more times before giving up and resorting on trying to go into Download mode.. I can't even get into Download mode since When I hold down the VOL + VOL - Buttons and plug in the USB it continues to vibrate.. I have No clue what To do Next. I WOULD love to just return to T-Mobile and receive a replacement But I fear that they might find it is rooted and charge me for the full price of the phone.. Also I'd love to have transfer all of my messages and Other Personal Data off my SD card to my laptop.. Help Please? If there is a way Can i take everything off my SD without having to completely get it out of this bootloop ?

So let me start off with I've done research and not just posting up a new thread because I'm lazy. All of the threads that I have looked through all seem to be close but not the same as most people can boot into recovery.
Running Konis elite series III had it about a week with no issues Ive reboot plenty of times and havent had any problems once so ever. Now I think my problem happened yesterday when I needed to clear up some space and deleted the package I installed Konis rom from I figured since it was already installed the package wasnt needed anymore. I noticed later that day my number pad was no longer showing up didn't pay much mind to it figured i just needed a restart. Reboot the phone today at work and low and behold.
Phone gives me 3 vibrates no lights on regular power up.
Vol - power I get 5 vibrates green flashing led (gotta pull batt for it to turn off)
Vol + I get 3 vibrates no lights
The phone just stays black need to take out the battery in order to get the vibrate errors again.
All the threads I read regarding the 5 vibrates say its in diagnostic mode but everyone else is able to get into recovery. I think I am now the owner of an expensive paper weight. -_-
Would pulling the koni rom install file off the sd do this?
What does the vibrate error mean.. being in diagnostic mode is pretty broad how are you suppose to troubleshoot something like that :/
Are you able to get into the bootloader at all?
Are you absolutely 100% positive that you're holding volume down and power? That should take you to the bootloader. I saw someone with a similar problem, but they were just doing volume up instead.
What happens when you try to power the device normally?
And deleting the rom zip from your SD card shouldn't cause any problems. In fact, I can't think of a single way it could cause anything to go wrong. That is the only thing you deleted, right? You didn't delete anything from internal memory?

well i think that the 5 vibrates and green led's are indicative of safe mode. the other i'm not so sure about. if you're holding vol down and power and getting 5 vibrates then maybe there is a prob with your vol buttons. its acting as if your holding the vol up button without hitting it. maybe its stuck or something like that. just guessing though.
yo
Thanks for all the replys.
Nah doesn't let me do anything. I plug it in and it asks for broadcom drivers thats about it.
I made sure that the vol - is being pressed it gives me 5 vibrations and then the green led no recover menus/
A buddy of mine had the same problem after flashing the kingdom rom on his incredible. He sent it to the phone insurance company and they replaced the motherboard. So basically, your kind of screwed.
Well.....unless you can somehow fix it on the evo...... because I know we tried everything on his incredible, and it would just do the exact same thing every time, no matter what.
nvm same deal. it booted up intro recovery one time i erased cache and ran a saved backup on clockworks phone restarted after it finished and back to the same deal. yay.

What do you mean by back to the same deal?? Back to normal or back to the problem?
hardware related..
volume button keeps getting stuck some way some how and whenever the phone turns off its a pain to turn on. 30+ tries taking the batt in and out. When the phone would be turned on the volume would pop up randomly. Figured it was that so i bumped the phone on the desk with the buttons down and it cranked on did it again early today and it cranked up again after a few tries my phones toast. -_-
Hello, i bought an older desire, installed cyanogenmod 7 on it and all was running ok for ~4 days.
2 hours ago i left the phone on the table, battery was around 70%, when i came back screen was blank and i was unable to turn it on or restart it. I pulled out the battery and then inserted it back, after turning on the screen is blank and the phone permanently vibrates.
i have tried common key combinations mentioned on forums (vol - + power, back + power, vol - + power + home) with no change, the screen remains blank and the phone constantly vibrates.
i have tried to connect it to pc and to boot into recovery blindly, adb / fastboot doesnt list it after any of the key combinations, lsusb also doesnt list it, it only drains some power from usb.
I would like to know what happened, i would have understood if something like that had happened while i was flashing it / rebooting it after flashing, but it ran just fine for over 4 days. Now i have a nice usb powered vibrator :]
Would anyone care to help me with my issue? It doesnt seem to be covered anywhere on the forums. I am an android newbie but i can test probably any idea you may give me. Many thanks.
Very strange...
Try to remove the SD and the SIM to discard them as the problem.
Good luck
i have already tried that. and i have tried all combinations of sim / no sim, sd / no sd.
no effect.
i have got the same problem!!!
i've tried to root my desire following the instructions from internet, maybe i did something wrong. after i running bootloader from hdbootscreen it run in cmd window from pc the moment later it automatic shutdown the screen to black but the phone system was seem still work. ive tried to remove battery SIM SD card and reboot by combined button like instructions but nothing above screen, just stayed black screen, but my phone vibrated when i try to push power on
i hope anyone can helps us, ive just bought it 2day ago.
thank in advancej
Hey mate
I gave my old desire phone to my dad to use and I got that problem. According to him, he turned the phone off to charge and when he turned it on it just constantly vibrated.
Kinda puzzled me at first, I pulled the battery, sim and SD out but didn't fix it. Found my other genuine spare battery for it and put it in, I let it charged for a bit and turned it on.
Phone's now working with the other battery, I think I eliminated the problem but I'll have to hear back from my dad to see if he encounters the problem again.
Hope that helps you mate
So i've looked around and no one that i've seen has the same exact problem as i do. Here's my post in another forums about my problem.
Here's my story about my Galaxy s2 for T-mobile. My phone randomly turned off 2 days and whenever i tried to turn it on, it would restart and basically never get pass the blue loading bar screen. Second, i found out about this boot loop sequence and i was able to do a factory wipe.
After i factory wiped the data etc off the phone, i was able to use it until it ran out of battery, but then after i found out it ran out of battery, it wouldn't let me turn it back on, it wouldn't get pass the loading screen, once again. On the other hand, i am able to go to recovery mode or download mode, but the phone shuts off before i can even try and click on the options i want.
Today, i found out that if i kept pressing power button consecutively on the phone, I'd be able to go to my home screen and basically act as if nothing ever happened, it'd function as a new phone! I then had the nerves of turning off my phone just to make sure it finally works now, but my hopes were crushed and now the pressing the power trick does not even work anymore. It would probably work one out of 10-15 times, and in the end it'd still restart. I am using a gingerbread galaxy s2. My friend tried using the usb jib on my phone, and it worked but whenever he tried to plug in the usb, the phone would just restart. I am extremely frustrated with this, and if you can help, please do so because it's important that i fix this phone. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
Hi there, thank you for the welcoming me to the forums. No, my phone is not rooted, it has always been gingerbread etc i never tried rooting because i never knew how:/ I believe this started when i was just browsing around facebook, so i'm not entirely sure what happened... Uhmm i tried going to download mode through the volume keys and power button when it's connected to usb to the i think it's odin3? and it'd be in the download mode but as soon as the computer says it's connected, the phone would just turn off again and bam, it's like nothing ever happened. My phone does charge when it's plugged in, but it doesn't show it's being charged but i remember my battery was dead last night and i charged it till today and now it's got power. ANd no i don't have a warranty:/ i really hope you can help me
Sounds like a faulty power button. Check out Mobiletech video for thier power button repair service.

Started acting up last week when I noticed it restarted on it's own, but didn't fire back up right away. Instead it went into a reboot cycle for almost an hour (doesn't make it passed the Samsung splash screen). Then it just fixed itself and I was able to access everything as normal.
Once it was going again, I backed up all my info and did a factory reset and proceeded to re-load Jellybean (4.0.2?). Although Kies said I was already up-to-date and didn't do anything.
Anyway, worked fine for a week until yesterday when it went into the continuous reboot cycle, and never fully turned on again.
I have pictures and vids I would like to somehow recover (on phone and not on SD card), but I have no idea how to get the phone to start up. I have removed my SIM and memory card to see if that did anything. Also have done numerous hard resets (pull the battery and lock + vol down combo). It basically just kills the battery as it cycle reboots. Every few minutes, it will fire up again but still doesn't make it past the Samsung splash page. And when the phone is charging, it just doesn't turn on in general and just intermittently vibrates to try to start-up.
Dunno how I would even be able to flash the ROM (newb at this) since the phone doesn't stay on long enough to access the BIOS of the phone. Does this seem like a software or hardware issue? I bought this phone 2nd hand off Craigs about 2 years ago, so no idea if it was a refurb.
Has anyone experienced this and can direct me to somewhere so I can fix it? Or is it a goner and I should just move on to another phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Its likely a stuck power button. Search here or Google for treatments.

it sounds like a problem I had once
Galaxy S2 Wont boot anymore
one option was to disassemble teh phone and check the power button , someone recommended I use an eraser to tap the power button and see if that would unlodge it and to my relief that worked. You might want to try that first
I have a Nokia 6.1 TA-1043. I have not unlocked the bootloader, and it runs the default operating system (Android One, probably Nokia flavoured). It has gotten slower over the years, and it had a period where it crashed every now and then (sudden reboot). Anyway , some days ago I decided to reboot the phone because it was slow, and it instantly shut off. After waiting probably 20 seconds without response, I decided to hold the power button down to force it. I don't remember exactly what I did, but after trying to again hold the button down to turn it on again, it vibrated as usual but the screen remained black. I then most likely tried holding volume + and power to force another reboot, unsuccessfully. I then tried holding volume - and power to enter download mode. It might have vibrated, or I might have touched the cable making me think it vibrated, but nothing happened. I pressed some random buttons after I think.
Now, the phone does seem to charge. It gets warm when I plug in the charger. I've searched for hours on different forums, and some people say that their phone was magically resurrected after the battery went completely flat after few days. I have tried plugging the phone a bit and testing every button combination (including volume +, volume - and power at the same time) for a few days now. It's dead.
The phone is also seemingly not recognised at all on my windows 10 PC. Haven't tried on Linux.
I have a few theories:
1. The phone simply hard bricked itself due to some hardware failure.
2. I bricked the phone by (blindly due to screen being blank) entering recovery mode and unknowingly factory resetting the phone and shutting it off mid process.
3. The battery is messed up? Some suggest deconnecting the battery. It would require the use of a heat gun to even open the phone though.
I've seen some people suggest entering EDL-mode either by shorting some pins or using a modified USB-cable. However, that would either require opening a phone that isn't supposed to be opened easily, or plugging a modified USB-cable into my computer, nether of which seem safe. I've also seen people mention that whatever needs to be flashed in EDL-mode must be signed by Nokia, which I can't do obviously haha.
It's probably time to move on right? Has someone managed to get a phone in that state to work again?
Hi i can explain some of your theories:
The first one: It's impossible to make the phone hard bricked itself.
The second one: Factory reset is only wipe your data not the OS itself so if you Factory reset and force reboot it should get in to Download mode and you need to unlock bootloader to reflash the ROM. (I'm not in that situation so I'm not sure it's correct or not.)
The third one: No, I don't think so.
That's all so if you have any question ask me. Thanks!

Thanks for replying My phone seems unresponsive, so I haven't managed to get in to download mode, at least not visually on the screen. Also, my phone is not recognised on PC, making me suspect it's not really turned on. I also tried holding volume up + power for 40+ minutes by stuffing it between a few books when making dinner haha, and it still didn't respond. Would you move on in this situation?

I don't know because I'm not in that situation, but I had a similar one but only boot to download mode.
