I have tried to change Baseband of my R800i to R800a with ftf files I got in this forum excluding everything except Baseband but I got unknown baseband as a result using R800a Telcel I didn't used Generic R800a file because seems it doesn't have any information of the baseband.
is necesary some other information maybe libraries or something else.? Can somebody give me a R800a ftf file that includes Baseband information?
Thank you in advance.

First of all sorry to open a new thread but I've been reading a lot and can't find clear answers to my questions.
I have a Taiwanese R800i, retail not locked to any carrier, running 4.0.A.2.368 (2.3.3)
I already unlocked the bootloader to root my phone with 2.3.4, but the requirements to do that is that I'm already running stock SE 4.0.2.A.0.42 FW and because I unlocked my bootloader I can't use PC Companion to upgrade to 2.3.4 anymore.
How do I know which firmware version of to use 4.0.2.A.0.42 NA/UK/TW?
(TW version is not available in XDA forums anymore, dead link)
Are they safe to use even though I'm in Taiwan? I really don't know the difference between them.
I do know I can get the Chinese input running with Touchpal but:
What else do I lose? Only bloatware? (that's the reason I want to root on the first place)
As far as I know any version should be fine, but make sure you flash R800i firmware and not r800at.

i've been looking for the same thing, and i tried to flash .36 baseband, having .42 firmware. In the Arc forum you can find libraries and the baseband itself; flashed the baseband via flashtool, then flashed via recovery the libraries, clear cache, reboot, and i get no signal whatsoever. rebooted again, nothing, no signal, no gsm, no wcdma.
I don't know, maybe it doesn't work for my country, i'm from Italy...
same thing happened to me in uk
are you sure the libs are for PLAY not arc?

no i'm not
But i don't know, where i'm supposed to get this baseband? Doomlord in his (xplay) kernel topic said it's recomended to have this .36 baseband, but in xperia play's forum there's no topic and no baseband topic...
---------- Post added at 01:19 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:12 PM ----------
actually i'm reading the baseband patch topic in arc forum and there doomlord said the libs works fine for him... so it's out problem

You can't use the radio from an arc rom, your lucky you didnt brick your phone just use one of the .ftf files from the play, and just flash the baseband using flashtool.

wait a minute, maybe i didn't explained myself...
i'm saying i'm on stock .42 xperia play firmware, then flashed the .36 baseband from the arc forum.
Or are there explicit xperia play baseband ftf around here?
Edit: oh crap i'm an idiot. You mean to download the entire firmware for the play and, when using flashtool, just flash the baseband from that... right? if that's so, i can find .62 firmware for the play, but can't find anywhere this .36 ... or is it a previous release?
i'm need to loacte what original firmware i have on my xperia play to flash a rom but I am not sure how to do that. nothing in the about phone settings has a .62 and i am all kinds of confused.
What does it say under build number in settings - about phone?

I'm downloading the .62 firmware so ic an flash DooMLoard's ICS leak, but I can't even find flashtool to do so. x.x
I hope you know what you're doing, because getting the latest UK firmware on R800x isn't as simple as flashing via flashtool. I would know, I've done it

well i've done everything i could and i guess I'll just wait for an official release.
Too many outdated methods and what not.
If anything I'll just stick to my G2x on Tmo.
:/
Thanks for the help.

any one plz tell me last night i flashed baseband 56 for Blend miui should i change baseband for another Custom Rom?
Using Xperia Arc S
For Gb Roms - Baseband 64 is recommended
For ICS/JB Roms - Baseband 77 is recommended.
Sent from my LT15i using xda app-developers app
No! Baseband is basicly to do with making phone calls mms etc (short explanation) you do not have to change it for every rom unless the Dev recommends a particular baseband or you have communication problems.I have probably changed mine twice in the last year.:good:
Am stuck
i dont Know Y. i was using Baseband 64 earlier tonight. then this dude recomende 56 kernel for his rom. i did.
now am flashing 64,72,77,83 every time its Giving me an error
That's why I have only changedmine twice in a year I would return to stock and start from the beginning :fingers-crossed:
this means av to move back to stock by repairing my phone by PC companion and then Root it again and install custom Rom?

I'm not a expert on basebands I try to stick to same one unless I have major problems.I understand you need to flash the libs zip file with cwm included with basebands and also obviously flash your ftf baseband file. Also use the latest version of flashtool follow this link for basebands you probably been there already but it as the basebands plus lib files Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688049 :fingers-crossed:If not do more research maybe return to stock Also read this Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382657 Also update a guy in another thread had same problem and used old version of flashtoool Quote " Problem solved with flashtool 0.6.8.0" you could try that version as well.

What model do you have and which ROM baseband are you using? I guess both are different and thus this is causing the problem.
I believe you must have flashed wrong BASEBAND to your model. It could be due to Custom ROM or wrong STOCK rom.
If you just find your phone model FTF, you will easily fix the data issues. Check your phone's box for it's model number and baseband
Good Luck

Download ftf according to your phone and flash it via flash tool(not Sony) . Just tick baseband in right side while flashing and unchecked everything else.
Good luck

It's the easiest trick which I told you. You may flash it via recovery but that will need a flash able baseband and you'll need to work on it.
However in this you just do this :
Download ftf n flashtool.
Turn off your phone n boot into fastboot n then just select the RIGHT ftf and flash only baseband. It'll take less than a minute. Remember to tick only baseband and nothing else.
Good luck
