Holo Wikipedia is a Wikipedia app built for Ice Cream Sandwich and Jelly Bean from the ground up. The app has a split action bar and useful functionality like easy sharing, search, language selection, full tablet support, favourite article and alot of useful settings like font size customization and volume scrolling. Holo Wikipedia can open links that are pressed in the browser so you'll be sure you're always using the app without even having to open it. The app is built with performence in mind without compromising with the features. The app compleatly free and there is no "Pro" version so all features are there right from the start.
I originally developed the app for personal use on my Galaxy Nexus but I've now ended up making it avavible for everyone. Hope you like it!
Post if you have any suggestions or problems!
Thanks for the awesome app.
Anyway, do you mind sharing source code to me (PM or post here) for either this wikipedia app or your tap it app? (whichever is the easiest)
I'm in the process of learning how to develop app and need a less-complicated app to learn.
I understand if you decide not to. Thanks.

Here's the source code for Tap It. I won't be sharing the source code for Holo Wikipedia due to the fact that it is a way more serious project and I'm still considering maybe monetizing it sometime in the future. Have fun with it!

Yeah, 1 is more than enough. I'm a total newb, just finished the basic of "Hello World" tutorial on Android Developer website.
You're a very generous person sir. Thanks a lot. You can remove it now if you want.
Gonna give some feedback on the wiki app later.
Awesome job man. I admit i was secretly hoping for a github link, but i completely understand. If you publish it on the market, consider me a customer
NFC have now been added to the app although both users need to have the app open.

Dude this concept is awesome. It should be a long work though, and will need a complete framework integration, plus there's gonna be some problematic parts (Perhaps 30% of frameworks/core code should be rewritten to match)... hmm, if you have any progress, or RSS feed, let me know I will suscribe for sure.
Btw, don't show it to OEM's or they will steal it

So I can browse redtube AND stay updated?!
This is great. Thank you. But why does it need access to so much information? (such as location, history, etc.)

I'm sorry, I don't have the Note, so I have no idea what this is. Does this become part of the browser, or is it just an app?

It for your computer, not your phone. It's a toolbar so that you can stay updated with the forums while on another webpage.

Thanks, hoping to make it better with some feedback.
Look very useful! Will test this out!
Sweet!! I was wondering how everyone was adding their screen shots to an image of their phone, now I know. Didn't know there was an app to do it for you. Thanks again!!
Any way to save it?
Some feedback:
Show a processing screen or progress bar when it is generating the image, and use a background thread. Right now it feels like the app got stuck.
Either save the image in the same folder as the input or ask the user. Right now it saves to /sdcard/Pictures/DeviceFrameGenerator or so.
Opening the image in the default viewer is a nice touch, but adding a checkbox "Open after generating" will be nice.

It should do it automatically. Look under the pictures directory, with a folder called Device-Frame-Generator.

Thanks for your feedback! I'll definitely keep these on my list for upcoming versions
1 is definitely something I am working on. 2 is a nice idea, but for now I tried to keep settings to a minimum so it would work right out of the box.
3 is something that wasn't in the application originally, but lots of people started commenting with issues of being unable to save, but it works fine on all my and for lots of other people so I'm having trouble locating the issue. This way once its generated, you can still share it even if its not saved (which it really should be).
Been waiting for something like this, thanks!
App has been updated. Check it out on the Google Play Store

Hello XDA friends,
How many apps on Play Store that sync your notes with Google Task? Many!
But since I didn t feel confortable with any of them I decided to make mine, with an alternative Holo UI, that take inspiration from Google Now, Google Keep, and made it more intuitive.
The app is mainly designed to make you feel all the features in your hands, even using a smartphone (tested on my 4.3" Galaxy S2 display) and offer simultaneusly 2 type of navigation: dropdown (useful to skip from a list to another when number of lists is huge) and swype.
This app as stated before lets you sync your current task with Google Task, so everything is synced to every device you got, with your PC and tablet, android, iOS and Windows!
Isn t it great?
Support to Password, Reminders, Due Date, all your lists are available and you ll never lose a meeting anymore thanks to notification feature (expanded notification for android 4.1+ users).
A touch of color to help you highlight your actions, nice animations and a complete settings menu to customize your app, your sincs, your passwords, your notifications.
Some screenshot following
And to always feel all under control and ready to use we can use widgets and shortcuts!
Shortcut may be used to open a selected list or to add a nu task in a selected list.. or both!
You can set an illimitate numeber of shortcuts obviously.
Widgets are fully customizable, you can set the order sorting, set if display as checklist or as simple notes, choose if display the content of the notes, the max lines of the title, every widget is fully resizable and got built in 3 buttons to open the list, add a nu task or simply reconfigure the widget.
So said that the word to you, hoping all Google Task users will enjoy!
For any kind of requests, bug tracking, feedbacks I' m here, just shout!
Cheers

Quantum Paper App Concepts
For those who don't know Quantum Paper is the rumoured new user interface which most likely will be seen in the upcoming version Android and on other platforms, for more information head over to Android Police. Additionally the newest leak of the Android 'L' release has shown that status bar will not have the gradient shade behind it, therefore all the concepts have been updated to match it.
Using the known information I decided to put together a few concepts for Apps based on the Quantum Paper design.

Keep in mind the Quantum Paper versions of these apps don't exist (at least yet), this is just a concept. However there is a guide thread on how to make your app have the Quantum Paper like UI.
If you'd like to see other Quantum Paper UI app concepts feel free to ask, there is a chance I could make it
reserved
Sounds like an interesting concept, I really have to admit I occassionally give a good look to other OSes' user interfaces too, sometimes even like them more. This seems to be an effort to help adjust that.
I personally don't mind seeing things improve, the UI is the part you see the most in Android so I could go with some cleaning-up anytime. I think we all remember how big of a change 4.4 was when it came out.
Added QuickPic, opinions always welcome! :good:

I would love for that to happen however it isn't possible at this moment in time, this is just a graphical concept, a theme similar to it could be made, but I don't have the skills for doing so
