Hello all,
I just downloaded liquids RC5 and attempted to install after doing a full wipe of my stock ROM. I've tried 3 times and each time it says "failed to install getprop" and "(status 7)". I was wondering if anyone could help?

are you trying to install a maguro rom on a toro device or vice versa?
No I'm using a Verizon model and attempting to install the toro ROM, so it should be working fine. When I rooted with the GNex Tool Kit though I had to use the GSM model root option (the LTE version didn't have an option for 4.1.1 and in another thread I was assured it would work fine - which it did) would that have somehow changed it to the maguro build?

Be a big boy and don't use toolkits.
If that maguro option flashed a maguro recovery...then very much so, yes. That is your problem.
Since you're rooted...just download Rom Manager and use it to flash CWM for your device (TORO).

Found your problem. You used a toolkit instead of learning how to actually root/ROM.
Edit: Man, I'm slow on the draw today.
Toolkits cause many problems.

I recently unlocked and installed CWM onto my GNex and I made a mistake where I put a kernel to flash onto the phone and I didn't put the rom into the device. I flashed the kernel and found it wouldn't boot, as it's made for 4.0.3.
I can still get in to the CMW, so where do I go from here to fix it?
I'm trying to mount with CMW, but I get this error: "E:Unable to open ums lunfile (No such file or directory)"
Help, please.
Did you run a nandroid backup before flashing the kernel?
If nothing works. You'll probably have to find the stock Google OS and flash it

How would I do this? I used the toolkit to unroot and put CMW on the phone, by the way.

Here you go. That'll walk you through. Step by step. I had to do this a few days back and it was a smooth process.

Good to hear. Your phone is always recoverable. Its just a major pain when and if you need to start from scratch.

I tried to install that paranoid android rom.I keep getting an error 7. it says no target device found. I've tried 1.9 .4, 1.9 .5, 1.9.6 and now 1.9 .7. It looks like an awesome rom but I can't install it. I get the same error with the cm 10. Presently I'm running the vicious ROM (jellybean). I wipe everything before trying to install the ROM but nothing works. I can install the maguro version with no problems other than I don't have phone service. I want this ROM bad and need some guidance.
Mr. Keith
How are you trying to flash the ROM? In recovery?

Yes, clockwork mod. I've also tried to manually do it in recovery, still get the status 7 error. I tried the supersu mod, no success. I have the Verizon gnex. This is week 2 of failed attempts. Do I have to start with a stock rom first?
Hope you are getting roms from Verizon thread not i9250

This.
The reason why you didn't have service with a maguro ROM is because that is for the gsm version.
You want the toro builds. Hopefully you can get your radio back.
if not you'll have to flash the stock Google image.

If you mean status 7 error, I have that with my Vibrant and have to change to a different version of clockworkmod. Try flashing an older version of CWM in fastboot.

This is likely the OP's issue. There are just too many incompatibilities with the newer recoveries. If you stick with 5.5.0.2 (for maguro), and 5.5.0.4 (for toro), you will see that you will have significantly less issues...
I have a Verizon galaxy nexus with paranoid rom all you do is go back to stick ics and use recovery to flash and it might get stuck in boot screen just take out battery and put back in and should just start up

Sucess!!
Thank you, thank you, all of you. I finally installed the rom last night and its truly awesome. I didn't know that rom manager allows you to revert to older cwm versions. That did the trick. I now have some catching up to do.
Thanks again,
Mr. Keith
Oh Lord... my GNex is crazy after installing AOKP build 3. It doesn't ask for PIN upon startup.
Have tried to replace the SIM with a different one, but no PIN request.
Tried to the open phone, and dial a friend, but it only logs says no network.
If I remove the SIM it doesn't even notice me about SIM is missing....
Tried to roll back to a backup, AOKP build 2, which worked perfectly fine - but no success.
Oooops. Anyone having a tip and tricks I could try out?

What version do you have? Gsm? Vzw?
Maybe you flashed a wrong version.. (eg maguro on a vzw / vzw on a maguro). These things break the radio. The easiest fix is to flash chainfires stock odin images via odin. (For the gsm model).

Do not recommend Odin. He needs to use fastboot if he wants to flash stock

Ty mates! Just flashing a new radio was enough.
Then downloaded the build again, ensuring it wasn't corrupted, then flashed it.

Accidentally installed the newest Verizon radio on my Sprint Galaxy Nexus. I've tried writing back my old radio 3 times but I still cannot connect to 3G. WiFi and regular cell/texts seem OK. Any advice?

you may have to odin back to stock if flashing radios to recovery does not work.

please dont use odin.
learn fastboot.
I've done fastboot in the past with terminal emulator. That will make a difference versus the recovery method?
Also, just curious about why not to use Odin? Never used it but wondering your reasons.

there is no real good reason to not use odin, some people just prefer fastboot and we should all learn it. you can odin back to whichever odin file is available then do manual updates to ga02 so you are on the latest radios. will start you over from complete scratch (wipes phone completely), so back up you storage before using.
zepius: that was a nice trolling post though, not helpful at all.
Odin isn't officially supported through Google. Even though this device is made by Samsung, and happens to have the options for Odin, there is no official support for it. Google provides images to be flashed via fastboot.
Besides, fastboot should already be installed and setup as it is part of the unlock/root process. So why someone would go out of their way to use Odin, when fastboot should already be setup and they should have some knowledge of how to use makes no sense to me.
The only thing I can think of that would make me use Odin, is if my USB port completely died and I wanted to get it back to stock.
flash the stock image from google using a tool kit or a terminal
and this should fix the issue but dont hold me to it
Anyone have a link for the correct image? Don't want to screw this up.

Hey All,
Just got a friends Nexus and it was last used with 4.1.2 jellybean, I tried updating via OTA in settings but there is no update there and says my phone is up to date. I'd like at least 4.2.2 although 4.3 would do well
I've tried using methods of clearing data from the Google framework but that did not work.
Also I have only just installed everything i want on it as i had to factory reset.
Any help?
Thanks in advance

and to add to this, to find all relevant info on your build I believe you can find it in bottom left when you boot into fastboot/bootloader
which is done by holding both volume buttons and power button down all at the same time

I think I may have screwed up pretty majorly,
I rooted and installed cwm as usual and tried flashing updates but that didn't work
Then I decided that I would install a custom ROM on it which I wasn't going to, so now I'm stuck as I wiped data and tried flashing both pa and slim but both failed, I assume this is because of an older version of cwm which was used because it was needed to flash the updates.
So now I am stuck without an os and when I boot it just goes through the Google logo twice then goes to cwm.
What is suggested for these situations aha? Thanks

Just use adb sideload. Saved my ass a couple of times too.
Thanks but I found a really good method on XDA because I believe it was soft bricked. I used Odin to flash stock 4.2.2 and that got rid of root and custom recovery. Once that was done I then updated to 4.3 in the settings via ota
Thank you for all you help
I have no idea about any of this adb sideload stuff so I'll learn about it before I screw up next time aha
