Just out of curiousity who is staying on ics over jb? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

JB has some nice features but I find myself going back to the ics roms... even though I've had no rr or sod with cm10 lately. Anyone else do the same?

Right now I'm rocking jmt as my main dd. I got a few nandroids of jb I go back to. There getting more stable by the day. Def worth running. Jmt x drops soon so there will be a lot of people flashing that.

jelly bean is extremely stable right now with most of the bugs worked or in the process of being worked out.. If someone wants something completely stable then they should stick with ICS for the time being..

I'm still on ICS (JMT3) because my office building and apartment are bomb shelters and I depend on WiFi Calling to communicate with the outside world.

I've been on ICS because its proven stable. I'm not entirely convinced the RR and SOD are gone.

I need my phone to be a 100% stable, so sticking with ICS roms until JB gets to that point. Hopefully that will be soon.

I don't think we'll know how stable it is until it's officially released. All we have now are ports and hacks.

yes. i need a stable JB too

Im staying on ICS because JB doesnt look as nice. the status bars and button switches are different. unless i can find a way to keep my cm9 theme on cm10. which i should look into now.

Im still using ICS Roms, tho i'm trying to find a JB rom. my main reason is I can't find a JB rom that will allow me to make calls and play music over blutooth in my car. It is really weird. I tried the 10/15 official Cyan nightly and the bluetooth worked on my way to work and then didnt work after. Ive got the 10.17 now and i want to see if that works. i cant really settle on an ICS rom tho. not sure why?

Jelly Bean ROM?

I'm trying to decide which JB ROM to install onto my E4GT... The candidates are:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812078 (AOSP Jelly Bean)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1810315&highlight=alpha5 (CM10)
They're both in the alpha development phase, but I want to know which is "smoother" (i.e. which has fewer bugs, and can be better used as a daily driver).
Any help would be appreciated.
I personally like the AOSP jelly bean better
And don't let the Alpha tag fool you.. It surely doesn't run as an alpha
I would recommend to make sure you do a CLEAN wipe and get a gps lock before you flash it though.. Helps makes things a lot smoother

As of when I used it, it wasn't 100% stable. I think for now, you need to stick with CM9/7 or whatever you like. CM10 still has a bit to go to be a daily driver for everybody (some people are happy with it now, but many are waiting).

I wasn't referring to voodoo color I meant voodoo sound, I paid for the voodoo sound plus app and it's suppose to inject the code which make voodoo sound work for whatever Rom without the need of a required kernel.
And to answer your question about flashing the nexus modem, you don't just flash it it require a patch for the modem to be flashed.
There are two threads in the Development section that will guide to flashing not only the nexus modem, but any modem you want.

I advise you to make a backup, wipe the usual data and such. CM10 does something with MTD I can't recall, so wiping data would be in your best interest. And don't be alarmed while flashing CM10 your phone reboots and you get stuck on the Cyanogen screen. Wait a minute or so, remove battery put it back in and go back to recovery wipe data again and reflash CM10. Make sure you have JB GAPPS too flash right after you flash CM10.

[Q] Jelly Bean Stable ROM for T989D Telus SIIX?

Hello,
I am using T989D Telus Version. Though I am not using it on Telus and using it on Rogers tower. Currently on CM10 experimental, which is not that stable. Any one else have luck with using this version on Jelly Bean . I am currently suffering SOD a lot. So can you please let me know which version is very stable ?

No I have not. Is it stable ?
People wrote about SOD on the page too
Honestly, it's a hit or miss, mine is completely stable..so are some others. While others aren't. Don't know what the difference is but I'm starting to think that the devices are different in the inside. Maybe different manufacturers on certain parts? Who knows. So just try it out. The rr and sod is clearly present, so if that happens try another Rom

To avoid/minimize SOD's and RR's, don't forget to set governor to interactive and scheduler to deadline.
I've had the S2X since it came out. I'm running Dougshell's 10/10 build and haven't experienced a single SOD or RR. This is the first AOKP jb build I've used that doesn't have those issues. Solid daily driver.

Been running Casper's aokp for a week now. Had two lockups on different builds but other than that no other issues, no flickering either. Running it with ktonz kernel @ 1809. Battery life is comparable to Free & Wicked's ICS roms. It's based off all the latest cm10 builds but with soo many more customization options such changing the background of your notification tray. I've heard good things about codenameandroid too.

Did you CM10 users changed to the Stock JB Update?

I am having a hard time deciding if I want to go back to TW with stock JB. So far I am really happy with CM10 except for minor bugs here and there but what about you guys, Have you changed from CM10 to JB?
How do you like it?
Is it as fast and snappy'?
I miss the stock camera, the email layout, some gestures (txt to talk, Facebook integrated with contacts) and other lil' things here and there but that is about it.
Let me know.
I switched back. Its nice, smooth and snappy, but I do miss the vanilla aosp that cm10 delivers.....

I like both will use TouchWiz JB when need complete stock everything working 100% and then go to AOSP/AOKP when I want to have more fun with themes and such.
Yep I switched. I had been using all of the JB Leaks and had strangely poor performance but recently was able to attribute that to the "media server" taking up a disproportionate amount of CPU time and I was able to fix that. Everything's good.
I tried out the stock OTA and then switched right back. IMO nothing beats this stable CM 10.0 build.

Except having a camera that can save to SD card, ammirite!!!
Kidding aside, I switched back from CM to stock just a few days before the JB update and am glad I did. I've always used CM ROMs with previous phones, but this was the first time that there were simply too many things that should just work right that simply were not working right. The stock JB is definitely snappy, camera is great, GPS works instantaneously (was another gripe I was having with CM).
