i was just wondering if somebody knows; i want to know if arc is going to get any other roms in the future except the CM10 (Jelly Bean), will FXP support this device in future or not (for expl. in android 4.2. or 5.0. roms?) - bcz i hoped i didnt have to replace it soon
thx in advance :fingers-crossed:
Well no one knows for sure as none of the 4.2 or 5.0 are released or know any of its requirement but I think our phones will stay have a support for at least one more version

Hi all
It has bee a while since my last post. But I hope you can help me to know in this new one.
I have an Xperia X10 with android 2.3 but lately it is very slow in almost everithing, e.i: at the moment to write some text, to make a call, etc. and I was thinking to re-flash it to Andorid 2.3 again to make it faster.
However, I saw that a new Android was released. The Andoid 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich). So, I was wondering if is there already a version to this Android for the Xperia X10?
If so, could you give me a url where I can download it?
I've flashed my Xperia X10 the last time, however I'm not sure if for the new Android the steps to follow are different.
Any clue, you can write would be helpful.
Thanks in advance
Hi there. Think this may be what you are looking for. It's still in development. Tried it on my Xperia Pro however, there are still issues with WI-FI here on the CM9 ROM. Went back to CM7 until this is sorted out. You will find CM7 and CM9 ROM's here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445819
Note: if CM9 doesn't work out then, you could always reflash the boot. You will have to do that anyway before putting any of these ROM'S on. You are best to flash the boot.img each time you change out from CM7 to CM9 etc. Once you have flashed the boot.img then, it's the usual routine. Boot into Clockwork Mod and take it from there. Freel free to give me a shout if you need anything else.
From what I know, Android 4 isn't fully supported on the Xperia X10, it will run but many features won't work (for example, the camera).
I'd suggest you to do some research (Google is your friend... oh and XDA) before upgrading. It might make your phone even slower.

Go to the X10 Android dev page http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=617
Youll find all roms there but any ICS (miui or cm9) the camera and hotspot is not working. I have had personal use with DiXperia 7 'Avenger', ***FeraLab*** and M&M`S MiUI ROMs and they are all great. My favorite is M&M`S MiUI and it is what Im using right now but they are all fast
Hi, I am wondering how to Flash vanilla ICS onto my Xperia Arc S. I got it directly from Sony via Amazon and doing some checks the boot loaders is unlocked out of the box as well as everything else.
My Xperia is using Sony's current ICS. However its UI sucks and its lacking many of ICS features especially the Contact Book which is replaced by Sony's own, which is worst than it was in 2.3.4.
So if some one can some one point me to right place to find more or less Stable ARC S rom that is battery friendly as well and has full ICS feel along with magority of apps from ICS

You have two options;
1. check if 4.0.4 is released for your phone via SI - http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/38388
2. flash an ftf via flashtool - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1583010
I think 4.0.4 is quite stable and performs alright for myself, don't really use it for anything then texting and calls so couldn't comment on games. However if you did want a custom rom head over to the Dev section.
What was the final official Gingerbread ROM for North American Arc S from Sony before they switched to ICS earlier this year? I want to step back from ICS and check phones performance with the Gingerbread. Arc S still gets laggy with ICS.

As far as I know, it was Android 2.3.4. The build number is 4.0.2.A.0.62. This is the latest official GB release in Germany and it should be in the USA, too.

No, the last official release is build 4.0.2.A.0.69 but as far as I know it is not released worldwide (but nevermind, you can install it with no worries). You can find more info (and download link) here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1553858
Thanks much folks. Just want to make sure that .69 is for LT18a not LT18i... I know you can flash it regardless but I want to try North American release....

I have been paying close attention to the Rogers home page for the Ion, and I noticed that under specifications they removed the line that said:
On Aug 1st - OS : Android 2.3 (update to 4.0 soon!)
Now.....
On Aug 3rd - OS : Android 2.3
I got the phone yesterday, I have rooted and had custom ROM on my last 5 Android Phones. I'm surpized how small the XDA forums are for this phone. It has a lot of nice features, but 2.3 for me is not a good thing. Hopefully we get some more intrest from Rom makers, and that the Rogers Ion get the 4.0 update. This isn't 2010.
It's ok. I've got Ion from Rogers last week too. I think we just need some time to get more people involved. No rush.

I've had my Rogers ION since July 15th, sadly no ICS yet. But once its out and root is easily done, im sure custom roms will be out soon. Its just a shame that us with locked bootloaders can only flash roms if they're based off stock Gingerbread or ICS. Maybe there will be an official MIUI V4 for the ION just as there is for the XPS, cause then we'd be able to flash it
Is there a proper solid way of updating from 4.1.2 to 4.3 android? I kinda have a dilemma, i recieved a sony smartwatch 3 for christmas.. and you need android 4.3 or higher to run android wear.
thanks in advance.

EDIT: Anything above 4.3 is acceptable.

Hey C126
I don't know if it is possible by an original Firmware as Sony haven't announced this.
Maybe our friends from XDA could develop a custom Firmware for 4.3 to LT26w.
Anyway, let me know if you find this new information too, I'm having a proximity sensor problem with my LT26w after I updated to JB (I asked for help in this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=56680427#post56680427) and I'm anxious for an update, custom or original, to try to fix this bug in my device!
