I saw a post that said that you can't do it on all HTC one v versions or carriers or in which country it was made, and it will get bricked. So could someone please help me find a way to root it safely because I don't wanna end up with a bricked phone

PrimoU is the codename for the ONE V
PrimoC is the codename for the US version of the One V
Sorry for asking you every 2 minutes a question but lots of people commented that it didn't work for them and there are lots of things I didn't understand like uur and hboot and fastboot and flashing and lots of other things because I'm new to android and I'm scared to do something wrong and brick my device so could you please help me because I'm really want to root my device but feared of bricking it and doing something wrong

search for the software version at the OS, settings -> phone setting -> software
Given your data (Lebanon) it will be Primo U, but better to be sure.
Sorry, at settings->about->software information. There is the software number which is needed
Sorry, but I will ask, if you are new to android why root? It is not really needed if you just use the phone like average.

The software is for the WWE Asia Primo U so you can go according to the link Lloir gave you.
First a registration at htc-dev, and then there will be steb-by-step walktrough to unlock the bootloader. If you have unlocked it (all data will be erased) then it could be rooted, or you can go easy and use the One V all-in one tool which can remove some work from your soulders, but I don't really think that it will be wise at a beginner level to attain the root.
Also if you watched carefully if you unlock the bootloader (which is needed for root) you have voided your warranty.

Then you must have used adb, so you are accustomed to command line. In HTC because of some limitations for the users, fastboot is needed to flash things, if you have acchieved the unlocked BL.
For root you only need to do basic things with the all-in-one tool, and you will have cwm to install the supersu. it is not that hard.
I told you I'm not a beginner I was just saying that but the things I don't know are flashing roms but the I know the bootloader unlocking process

if you have unlocked and has cwm you are on the go. You can (not must) flash any custom rom that is available. Only difference in htc is that first you go into bootloader, then from there to recovery, not to recovery first. fastboot is basicly a tiny app, that is capable to flash the primo's memory directly with command line syntax when is fastboot mode (you can call it flash mode basicly).
Ok I got you I conclude that the things I should do are
1 unlock the bootloader
2 flash cmw Rom
3 install superuser
Only???
Or is there anything else?

1 unlock the bootloader ->correct.
2 flash cmw Rom -> recovery, not rom but correct
3 install superuser-> via the newly flashed recovery
Only???
Or is there anything else?
That is all needed for the root.

Nice apps?
Dude, few posts ahead you've told Lloir that you need some help on rooting because you don't know what's a bootloader. After that you've told everyone that you know what a bootloader is and you are not new to android, rooting or any other specifical part of this process.
Now after you rooted your device, you ask "what are the nice apps that I can download??" ?
Are you serious?!
Get your act together.
Yeah so what I don't mean the basic apps I mean other apps that allow you to take more controll of your phone

If you unlock your bootloader and install clockworkmod to get root (this is the normal way to do it as I know), then yes you can.
But you always have to check if your rom is compatible with the kernel. So you may have to install a custom rom to be able to install a particular rom.
(please hit thanks if this helps you, because I would like to get access to de dev-section )
Ah right, so once I have that installed (as a backup) I can install any kernel and ruu? I haven't done it in a while so want to make sure I'm doing it right

There are different kernel versions for ICS / JB and Sense / AOSP, so make sure you choose the right one for the ROM you are using.
You will be able to flash a RUU to get your stock software back, but only one that installs the same version you had before flashing a custom ROM, or a newer one (read: you cannot downgrade using a RUU).
Hi all , ..

And how can I get the stock recovery of version 1.29.708.15 ??
thanks for your help anyway
You don't need to relock your bootloader for ota. Im afraid I don't know where to find your stock recovery as I don't bother with ota's, I use custom roms or ruus
EDIT: if you can find your versions ruu you should be able to extract the stock recovery from it

If you stay in stock Rom but with custom recovery and rooted you would still get the notification of an update but it would fail until you put the stock recovery back on. Some people say you don't need to unroot for the ota but from my past experience it's best to. To unroot you have to go into your system/bin or system/xbin and look for the Su file and delete it. Then uninstall the superuser app.

ok, calm down, everyone has this problem while flashing, i get it so many times, they can cause by the following reasons
bad flash
wrong rom
you forgot to flash the kernel
wrong kernel
messed up the order in flashing
ok,
1.Bad flash-this occurs if the .zip file is corrupted
solution:= re flash the ROM, if still no, download the file again and try
2.wrong ROM- u may have downloaded a ROM that is not for ur device or a ROM which is of not ur description
for example u might me a PRIMO C device/CDMA and u downloaded a PRIMO U/GSM ROM
3.Wrong Kernel-Kernel is the link between ur software and hardware, if u flash the wrong one like the case mentioned above , download the correct one and re flash
4.[ FLASHING YOUR KERNEL SHOULD BE THE LAST STEP][UNLESS U HAVE A S-OFF DEVICE]

I hope I get a fairly quick response to this Followed some advide in that thread, flashed a kernel (I thought) using the All In One Tool, ever since, I've been stuck in a bootloop. Obviously I have access to my bootloader and TWRP (thankfully). My recovery backup returns the same results though.
Im new to this so I'll try toprovide all the info I can.
Followed the TUT on how to Unlock Bootloader and Root 2 days ago.
Yesterday, using the All In One tool, flashed TWRP onto phone.
Was unable to Flash AOKP JellyBean 4.1.2 so I asked for help again (ROM was flashed, but stuck on Initiating Swagger Boot)
Tried using All-In-One to flash (what I thought was) a kernel, since then, my phone just boots continuously or not at all (depending on if I wipe or whatnot)
While at work, I was able to Flash the AOKP rom and Boot into it, but after about 1 minute of use, it reboots.
This is where I'm at now.
My bootloader says

I'm using the latest version (2.3.3.) of TWRP
Is there anyway I can find, and delete, the boot.img I flashed with All-In-One, that caused this bootloop?
Thanks again for helping.

Nova Launcher, Holo Locker then download the ICS Dialer, JB Messaging and JB Contacts app from appstore. That's about as close as you'll get without flashing, in all honesty nothing will go wrong, you've already rooted so I assume recovery is installed so you're 99% there.

Just follow the steps on the one click toolkit, all you need to do is unlock bootloader then install recovery and reboot and done. Just make sure you download the correct one (GSM or CDMA). I've flashed this device plenty of times in the 3 month I've had it with no problems at all, I've also messed about with my last two devices with no issues. And I'm only 17, I'm on an apprenticeship wage so I can't really afford a new device but it's really worth doing, if something goes wrong you can always depend on the people at XDA to help you out in recovering it.
I use MyOneV, its based on Sense Lite but I do prefer the Cyanogenmod based ROMs such as CM10 but I can't get enough of the Sense camera.

Installing apps of jb will not help... The smoothness....!!! The feel of using it will never come at any cost... And dont worry, i hav flashed roms approx. 50 times and nothing went wrong...
Recovery:- try twrp 2.4.4.0 and choose the correct one.... i.e. u r primoU or primoC...
Kernel:- flash dat seperately via fastboot..
Rom:- its up to you...!!!
P.S. please do not be on stock... Try a sense rom if u like it... But no stock... Its not deodexed so u cant even mod it freely...
R: Apps to make jelly bean without flashing rom
Flashing roms is easy once you flash the first one
I suggest you to flash CM 10 but since you want jb feel without it so here you go :
Apex launcher
Holo locker
Camera jb +
Clock jb+
Flash Google now for stock ROM if you want
Jelly bean status bar
Jb messenging app
ICS dialer
Install this much and you are good to go and I highly recommended you to flash Google now its the best feature of jb and flashing this also will not change your ROM or system but since you mentioned that you don't want to flash anything its your choice but its highly recommended
Yes I have flashed google now and am thinking about flashing a Rom. I have noticed google now has a horible amount of lag though.. and is there anyway I can flash a Rom without flashing a kernel as for that would require me to use a computer and right now my computer is down. Or can i flash the boot.IMG using just ny phone?
