My GNEX is to be delivered today and I've decided to go with CM 10 M2 (had good experiences with CM7 and CM9), is there any real need to go with a kernel other than the stock CM one? Is the CM kernel the same as a stock AOSP kernel or is it "tweaked"

No need to use other then the CM kernel.
I recon there are tweaks in it though i've never checked which tweaks that would be.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
When I flashed CM10.1 M3 my battery was good, now I have tried another kernel but it's not getting better (I think).
Could anybody give me a download link to the stock CM 10.1 M3 kernel? I don't know if they have their own kernel of they use the stock 4.2.2 kernel.
Thanks in advance,
Marc

Simply flash your ROM+GAPPS in recovery and you will return to the default kernel of your ROM.
On my At&T Galaxy S3 I have installed this kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226290
- I have installed this kernel on both CyanogenMod 10.1 M3 and AOKP MR1 Milestone 1 to see which ROM works for this kernel.
-I wiped cache and dalvik
-The kernel doesn't seem to work on both ROMS
-Is it normal for the screen to be black after the Samsung Galaxy SIII screen?
-If so how long do I have to wait for it boot up?
-I would also appreciate it if you send me links to kernels, or a list of kernels that work with either CyanogenMod 10.1 M3 or AOKP MR1 Milestone 1
-I would like it if the kernel could overclock my S3's CPU and GPU.
-I really appreciate any help, thanks!
use this with the aokp 4.2.2 milestone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1916103&d=1367068269
when you flash a kernel, it needs to be compatible with the rom version you are running. to avoid this soft brick down the road, grab a release of the kernel that is close in release date to your rom's release date. this will better pair the two. if your rom is running the packaged kernel, say version 3.4.41, then the custom kernel you want to flash should be 3.4.41 or earlier.

This kernel is Ktoonsez only kernel version that will work with AOKP M1. The newer ones are compiled from new sources that break the display. ie the black screen with sounds and buttons. Flash AOKP M1 then flash the kernel (wipe dalvik/cache and fix permissions right after the kernel installs) then flash GAPPS. This will give you what you want. Always flash in that order if dirty flashing. I am currently running AOKP nightlys and they are stable and give me no issue. also using the most current ktoonsez kernel. The kernel can be tuned with an app that is installed when you flash the kernel.
I have tried several kernels with my Chameleon rom that is CM based, and they all cause the ROM to crash, and I have to restore from backup.
Are there any that work with the CM builds?
You need a CAF kernel for CM. Faux123 has a kernel that works just fine with it, I'm running his on my N7 2013 Wifi with a personal CM build.
Every AOSP or AOKP rom I try even with different kernels such lean kernel or cyanogen mod does not work well with snapchat and skype alternatives or specific roms that work with these ? might have to revert back stock.
I'm currently using the official cm 12.1 with stock kernel, is not bad, but I think it could be improved. Wich kernel do you recommend?
