how can i update my radio drivers? - HTC Wildfire S

Hi.I want to know how can i know what version of radio i have and how can i update(if is needed).

Check the version of the radio on your bootloader......To do that,Power off you device and turn it on while holding the volume down button
And i would advise you to update radios on your own.....it might get risky

Always flash bootloader (hboot) + radio together. They comes in together in ruu. If u flash only radio or only hboot, u may get hardbricked, means u'll get a dead phone.
Also make sure that the radio is for ur phones specific model GSM/CDMA.

I have a HTC Wildfire s a510e GSM buyed from VODAFONE ROMANIA.

Press thanks button first....
And then press and hold power and volume down long enough. U will enter to hboot menu. Tell me what u see there. U might actually see everything there.

S on can't flash radio on hboot.....
But u can do fota update/apply ruu.... It will update ur radio...
First flash the original HTC recovery. Then RELOCK the bootloader via HTC dev key in ur mailbox, if u had unlocked it. U could also use rezos tool search it in general or dev section. Then from settings go about phone software info check update(only from sense 2.1 stock roms). Other method is risky, which involves ruu.
Now the problem may arise is u may not unlock it again, as some users reported black screen recovery issue, which is another pain to deal with.
Your current radio is battery efficient I think. I tested that radio.
Only radio flashing can hardbrick ur device, always flash radio + compatible hboot found in same ruu.

The older Hboot's didn't require unlocking. Just boot to recovery & flash a ROM.

Flash extra zip files

Not sure if this has been asked before.....
However, I would like to know if you can flash extra zip files like boot animations over a custom rom. I am running HiApk sense 2.1/3.0 ROM and everytime I try to flash something else it installs it and then when I reboot my phone nothing happens!!!?!!??! Is it possible to do this?
Thanks in advance
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda app-developers app
Bootanimations are zip file but u dont flash them. U have to use root explorer or simular and put the bootanimation.zip in "data/local" or "system/media" then set permissions to rw-r--r--
Looks like this
[x][x][_]
[x][_][_]
[x][_][_]
x = checked
Then reboot
Just make sure and check the exact location & permissions of ur original bootanimation then replace it with the new 1

Lol PVT 1? 4?
Anyway u can use revolutionary to s-off. Very straight forward and easy. U have to setup ur computer to "speak" with ur phone. Install HTC Sync then uninstall Sync only, leaving the HTC Drivers installed then u have to install the fasboot/hboot driver.

[Q] Help! HTC Buzz: Wildfire -Revoulutionary- HBoot 6.01.1002

Hi,
I am a new to XDA Developers and I only registered because I have a problem with my HTC Wildfire (Buzz). I need to downgrade my hBoot so I can unlock the bootloader. I didn't know about the bootloader having to be unlocked so I used Revolutionary. I had hboot 1.01.1001 at the time and it was a successfull root. I tried to boot to Clockworkmod Recovery to install Cyanogenmod 7.2.0 when a HTC phone picture came up with a red triangle with a '!' inside it. The specs of the phone are as follows:
Android OS: 2.1 (Eclair) (I downgraded from 2.2.1 recently)
hBoot:

Why do you need to use HTCDev?? By doing that you void any chance of your warranty.
You need to flash a recovery.
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Assuming recovery is named recovery.img and it is placed in your fastboot folder.

I tried using ROM manager but as I said the picture comes up. What fastboot folder and recovery.img?

You need a fastboot folder and need to install the HBOOT drivers. See the first few steps of my rooting guide.

I got it now. I had to use the fastboot flash command with an older recovery image. I am now using Cyanogenmod 7.2.0. Thanks guys
