Can somebody help me reading these speed tests?

My brother is getting really low data speeds. He's in Illinois, he ran a speed test and wants help figuring it out,wondering how bad it is? if anybody could help id appreciate it. Thanks

That is a number of different test results, but the bottom line is for 4G you should be hitting maybe around 20mbps depending on area and that is showing only kbps. Something definitely seems wrong. I hit over 20 in my area with no problem.

Thanks a lot.. He's not being throttled or anything, and tmobile said there's no problem with the towers In his area, you think it could be a problem with the phone? This has been going on over a week now..

Yeah seems weird. Is it possible anything could be interfering with the signal? Maybe try flashing a different radio if you're rooted.

Also you'll want to try switching the setting to read in mbps to see where you're at that way as well. I don't know what is consistent for your area so it may be that is all you'll get. I've gotten consistent readings between 17-21 mbps in my area.

I had him change the settings I attached a screen shot.. He's not rooted, and he's always had good speed in his area (Chicago) this just started about a week ago. I'm thinking it could be a problem with the phone as he's still sees a 4g signal? I'm gonna have him send it in for a replacement and see what happens.

Lol I don't even know what ping is?! I don't usually care about speed tests, i think it would drive me nuts, I'm happy with the way my phone works and that's it lol

20 is crazy for where I live. Best I got was 16 its usually around 12.
Seems like a different radio should help out

Ping is what is important. I stress it to everyone when looking for radio lol for latency. The lower the better. basically it's the amount of time it takes for data to travel to your target and for it to come back. It's a response time. You know how when you browse or go on fb sometimes it gets stuck for a few secs not doing anything... It's most likely do to high latency.
Another ex, when you lag during shooting games. They have high ping

Oh ok gotcha.. I never notice anything hanging ever though, actually everything loads VERY quick for me so I'm still a little confused lol, I attached a few more that I just ran. Is this any better?

Too big for my tastes, and I have relatively large hands. I feel like the s3 is pretty near the perfect size, big enough to be useful without being stupid-big.

The only reason I want this phone more then anything else is truly multitasking with two apps running at the same time I know is limited but is the best so far, I'm waiting to see if nexus 4 is better with 4.2 next week, and btw the longest I had a phone for is 8 months , I like phones too much :/

It must be that ypu guys switching phones like crazy must not be married. Lol. My wife got pretty pissed after a year having more than 6 phones. Defijitely keeping the gs3 until its paid off or after. Seems like a solid phone. Plus a phone is a phone is a phone.

Well yeah I can buy a phone when I want but it doesnt mean I should. On top of mortgage and other payments, cant always justify a kuxury like a new phone every six months at 600$+ a pop. Plus my wife is getting the note 2 to replace her mt4g that shes actually used since it launched.

Save pictures directly from Facebook?

Is there anyway to save a picture that someone post on Facebook in the Facebook application? I know on the iphone you could just hold down on the picture and the option would pop up. I know there is a share option and I could save it the long way by putting it in a text or photo editor but that's just a hassle. Thanks for any help.

What's going on here?

I think there's a setting on your phone to vibrate every minute while on call to let you know another minute has gone by, you can turn it off but I'm not sure where the setting is exactly.. I have never had the problem and I'm not sure that's what is going on with yours but you could try it out

That's not weed!! I've spent time with people that are coming off from a long week of G and Meth and no sleep, this brought back those memories of those people. I apologize if I offend the OP, I mean no harm at all... Just well, the whole thread just points to it lol.

Message Delay

I love my tmobile service so far but there is one issue I cant handle. I text normally all day long for business and personall life and such but sometimes people will send me a text and I wont recieve it for about 3 or 4 hours. Is there any fix for this?

No issues for me. Try sending one to yourself, if it's delayed it's either your phone or T-Mobile if it's the latter then contact T-Mobile.

I was thinking maybe it's system, since T-Mobile were testing and bringing LTE online around same time I've bought the phone.

Guess maybe it's related to network changes, ie LTE initialization, but not actually related to this phone.
