[Q] Best Podcast app? - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I'm look for help to find an Android podcast with similar functions to Downcast from iOS side.
Downcast allows a video podcast to carry on playing as audio when I press the home button or press the power button.
I tried DoggCatcher, BeyondPod and Pocket Casts, all of them don't offer that function.
Another minor function I'd like to have is able to sweep left and right on screen to go back and forward with video.
I've looked through some threads, but can not find an Android app does the above.
Could somebody please suggest some apps for me to try?
Many thanks

I'm not on Gnote2 yet, but I use beyondpod and it does allow me to do video as audio with screen off. There's actually an option in the settings to "continue video play with screen off"
The only other podcast player I've used is Ratpoison. It's not nearly as cool as beyondpod, but it's free...so no harm checking it out

I use this free one on Galaxy Note 2 :
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bambuna.podcastaddict

Dog catcher does that. Press and hold then select play as audio.

Can't solve these issues

Default music player will not sync playlists in wmp. Want to use that player.
Find an app to control volume per app. Like I want to record on tune in radio and play a podcast.
And finally an app to keep an app alive and/or have the task manager show more open apps instead of six.
I absolutely love this phone and thanks goes to all the devs who make this phone even better. Custom roms tweaks have just blown my mind on this phone. I really don't think this phone gets the praise it should.

Cross fade and pause

Like many of you, I am a avid iPhone hater. The iOS software does have one cool feature that would be cool if the devs......thank you for all your hard work btw..... Could bake something into a rom. It is on all apple devices, say you are rocking out to your music with friends and you want to here something on YouTube. Apple software it automatically mutes what you were listening to and starts play the the new audio app you have selected. Just a suggestion, I have very basic programming knowledge so i am not much help, but I think everyone would appreciate this mod.
Thanks,
Well I just played something in double twist, then went to YouTube, and when the video started playing it paused my music, closed YouTube, went back to DT, and hit play. It picked up where I left off.

Plus 10 it gives you the option to enable/disable
Unfortunately the music apps i use include YouTube, I heart radio, tune in radio, stock music player, and subsonic and that feature does not work with any of those apps. So I guess it's just not a widely popular idea so far.
I know Pandora does this too. It's all about the apps used, not the ROM.
Even youtube leaves off where u where when u switch to another app or press home and return to youtube

Samsung Music Player

Regarding music player, I just got used to using Google Music on GN, but with GS3, I have come to like Sammy Music Player
I love the Music Square, once I figured the music needed to be on the phone, and I needed to reload the music.
BUt I like to use genres when making playlists. I don't see them. are they there , is there a way to do it
I know there are tons of music players out there. But this gets lots of great reviews, the equalizer works etc
Is there one that MOST people agree is in the top 1 0r 2 Or is this one now one of those
Thank You
You can setup your tabs in settings. There's a genre tab in there somewhere.

Wow do I feel like a fool
Ill try 2 for 2....for song search, is the only option to drag the slider thru the alphabet?
As far as tagging I see it does that. But album art, how do I get that
I know the other players get it...but
1. Do they keep it? Something I read led me to believe it was just temporary
I am speaking of PowerAmp and PlayerPro. Maybe even WinAmp
All I want is:
Ability to set playlists with genres
Ability to get tags PLUS album art
A decent EQ
Possibly music AND video in one with Video opening full screen
Believe it or not the reviews are right. Samsung did a good job
It can do #1, after u pointed it out.
It can do number 2, waiting on the ART answer
It is said by reviewers to have an awesome EQ
It doesnt play video. But I can use the Video player and It opens FULKY
Doubletwist, Playerpro do not open fully
Thanks Again
Eric.
Can't find this anywhere else, but I'm unable to queue music in the stock music player.
Is this possible, as it is in every other music player I've ever seen?

Nope. It should depend on the Touchwiz framework to run.

There's something called "schnellstartliste" in german. If you long press a song you can add it to that. If you select that from playlists, which should be the first entry, it acts as queue. Maybe that's what you are looking for

This works for individual tracks, but you can't queue an album in the 'quick list'.
You get the option to add to a list and the 'quick list' isn't an option....

you can try poweramp theres a trail version on google play store, its pretty good and has loadsa options, used a couple of different players already and i find poweramp to be the best
I'm using 'cubed'. Good music player but not been tested on the s3 yet, hence can't create playlists.
Can queue tracks and albums though, so not too bad.
I just really liked the stock player and am a bit puzzled why you can't queue stuff properly. It's a deal breaker for me.

I dont have it in front of me...but cant you add to playliist and play NOT random. Can't you drag the song up to where you want it
Like I said, not in front of it, i am trying to recall...my phone is in the mail, Upgraded to the 32gb

[Q] Multitasking Help!

When I play a song video in youtube and press the "Home" button, the song STOPS playing.
Why?
I want the song to continue playing in the background.
Any suggestions? Please reply.
Its always done that cause youtube isnt a regular music player. Your phone is literally ending the session with the youtube app. The best you can hope for is waiting for the screen to time out and just stick it in your pocket after that lol. But yeah only music players (as far as i know in this situation) will continue to play in the background for you.
U can find a version of youtube that works this way... google is ur friend

Try the app stickit! It will allow you to play a song video on youtube or other videos on your device in the background or foreground. It actually makes floating screen you can adjust the size of so you can "multitask". Occasionaly hiccups when playing a video... but not bad overall.

[APP] Poweramp Remote 4 Android Wear

Hello.
Just want to share some very good news - there's ain Play Store called "Poweramp Remote 4 Android Wear", and it works with Moto 360 like a charm. The app is paid, but it finally allows to use Moto 360 to control music as fully as Sony's SmartWatch 2 used to do.
WBR, Draco
first off, FINALLY THANK YOU.
second: few small things to make it perfect:
1. folder list
2. metadata is sometimes off, mostly pictures but sometimes I'll go to an artist and not see a song I know I have...if I find the another way the artist will show as same.
3. browsing on general should mirror poweramp...one of the reasons I will never switch away from poweramp is the way you can browse for a song: folders and artist then album.
there's one more annoyance that no one do anything about though and that's the ever present default notification that comes first when you play music . Once you can get this stuff working this will be as good as the app in SW2...really missed that app
Hi.
I'm not the developer of this app, I've just posted here about it You can contact developer via Play Store. As for the default music notification, it drives me mad also, but apparently there's nothing to be done yet - Android Wear is sort of a parody on the real Android...
WBR, Draco.
I looked at it but have been a supporter of the MusicBoss for Wear app. It can control pretty much any app that controls volume and the dev is responsive to fixes! I have been following the dev since the Kickstarter Pebble. So he is a user as well.

Already there
I have also Music Boss (and on my pebble) but very huge difference, with Music Boss we can not browse Album, Artist, Title, and not setup for equalizer.
For Wear I use Stellio found before the Power Amp app (I have also Power Amp on my phone).

True, but I like to actually see what I am doing there on the phone, which is better to view the settings IMO. I have tried Stellio as well and is ok, but I gravitate back to MB for just playback and volume controls.
