Remove AM/PM from notification bar clock - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I want to center my clock in the middle of the bar, but I'd like to remove AM/PM first; e.g. if it's 9:50PM it would only write 9:50, not 21:50.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I've been reading up on the subject it seems I have to edit SystemUI.apk by "decompiling" and "recompiling" it afterwards. Can anybody explain how I would go about doing that? I am suspecting there is some sort of APK manager I need to use over adb or not?

Analog Clock in Status Bar :)

Hello People
I hope nobody found this yet - don't want to fill the boards with sh*t.
Anyway, I came to this registry key.
If you use the clock to display in your status bar when you have opened some program or etc you can switch it to analog thanks to thi key.
It is:
\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SoftwareMicrosoft\Shell\Analog Clock
Just change the value to 1, reboot and there you go Analog clock in status bar...
Hope you like this.

I have now another problem...I installed pocket digital clock and have problems removing it...it still shows in the remove programs list but it is uninstalled...and when I click remove it just shows that spinning 4color wheel of death....sigh...
What should I doooo?
Ow and back to clock, try it, htere is no way you can harm your device...it is internal from microsoft...
try re-installing the soft and then uninstall again.
Otherwise hard reset.

No need for doing all that. Tap and hold on top bar clock and on the pop-up menu choose Digital or Analog!

u yust in clock options switch to clock stay in all programs on top, and then keep stylus on digital clock, then menu will apear and ask to swich beetween analog or digital.
no need to go to registry
Hmm, I've one question (dying for this) which is somehow related....
How to get ANALOG clock instead of the original touchflo flip clock on the home tab??
p/s: I've background4all by mun_rus and I can't install any other analog cab that mess around with manila files as they've already been modified
I like android's style of placing an analog clock in the center of the phone.
Please help me.......................thanks!!!

Help? Notification Bar modifying

Okay I want to make the status bar transparent and the pull down tray as well.
I want something like the transparency the top bar in OSX 10.6. I hate hiding my background and since I'm going for a minimal look, it's awfully distracting.
I tried to make the edits myself in photoshop and went ahead and resigned the .9.png files too. But when I pushed the framework-res.apk file back...only the notification bar had changed. and the pull down bar stayed solid.
Can anyone list for me which files specifically I need to change so I can make the notification bar and pull down tray transparent?
I would go ahead and make the changes myself.
I'm currently on FreshEvo, anyone think it would look better on cm6? or easier?
I found that 85% opacity seemed to work well enough but the black bar on sense was less than ideal, but acceptable. There was a problem with that too, the icons for mail notifications, cell signal, etc had their own black background that showed like black squares, I'd need to know which files to edit for that too.
I'm thinking that the aosp top bar, or if anyone knows of a white/aosp theme for senseroms, would work better.
P.S. The first time I edited my framework-res, I had to re-add all my accounts on the phone? what happened?? lol
All help appreciated

in launcher pro, making the status bar transparent wont matter becuase there needs to be a wallpaper hack i believe, unless you use a live wallpaper, the transparency will show. All the files are in the framework-res.apk that you need to change i believe, aside from the pulldown tray, that is the services.jar. i could post my theme for ya, but it changes everything.
What is your theme? Maybe there's a framework-res in it I could take a peek at to compare your edits.

What do you edit in services.jar? I cant find the reference to it... the pulldown tray, that is, making it transparent.
The bars in your bottom picture are in framework-res/drawable-hdpi/
-status_bar_background.png
-status_bar_header_background.9.png
-statusbar_background.png
-status_bar_close_on.9.png
In that order
You need to edit all of the status bar icons also they have black blocks behind all of them. Like stat_notify_disk_full.png there are some in framework-res and some in com.htc.resources
The white part can only be made transparent with services.jar. I know there are downloads of it on here just do a search for services.jar.
Manup has a bunch for download that make it transparent and remove the clock and stuff.
Here is a guide on how to make your own

Thank you, answered my question fully.
Would I be correct to assume that in cm6, all the status bar icons have white blocks begins them?

[Q] Remove icons from CM7 notification bar?

Title says it all. Can icons like the alarm clock, vibration, etc be hidden?
I'm pretty sure they can't but they're location in framework-res for editing. I've seen edits on them to make them appear removed but they're physically still there
That's odd, there are obviously morphs and flashable mods for other ROMs that can hide said icons. Is this not possible in CM because of the gb framework or what?
can hide but not remove
Any pre-made mods you know of?
What all icons do you want removed? I could create a meta morph file that could do this easily.
I'd like the alarm icon and the vibe/silent(?) icons removed myself, if you could do a morph that'd be amazing.
go to systemui.apk or framework-res.apk and delete the desired icons
Will doing that leave a space where the icon should be?
Sorry for the post on an old, dead thread, but did anyone ever get this working? I'm curious. I would like the alarm icon removed as well, but I don't just want a space there.

It is probably possible to remove them all together by someone with the right skills, but it would be tons of work. The simplest and most used way of hiding the icon is to edit the systemui.apk and framework-res.apk, replacing the icon poctures with empty transparent images. This stops you from seeing the icon but its still there and will still take up a space, it will just be a blank space.

accuweather

I had the accuweather temp in my status bar and my tablet did random reboot and now it wont show temp in status bar.I have it checked in settings in accuweather app and it is staying in my notification pull down bar but it wont show in my status bar.Can someone explain where it went please, thanks.

Help - fix lock screen status bar background

I'm trying to figure out how to fix my keypad lockscreen so that the status bar uses the lockscreen wallpaper. T989 running Lightspeed (4.1.2)
The keypad lockscreen status bar shows the main wallpaper, not the lockscreen wallpaper (see first attached image, original). Does anyone know how to force the keypad lockscreen to show the lockscreen wallpaper (or at the very least be black)?
I tried xperiacle's How-To (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384892), which used the correct status bar wallpaper, but the status bar chops off the top of the clock (see second image, 0900). It looks like the space between the keypad and where the numbers are entered is increased by the same height that is being chopped off of the clock (compare to first image).
First question - is it possible to edit the layout of the keypad lockscreen? If so, where can I find that file? I would like to be able to adjust the height between the keypad and the number entry line.
Second question - when I first power up my phone, the lockscreen status bar is black. But once I unlock and do anything on the phone, the black status bar on the lock screen goes away and I'm left with the invisible status bar showing the main wallpaper. What activity is starting that changes the lockscreen status bar? Any ideas on how to logcat this?
Any help is greatly appreciated, let me know if I can provide an ymore info.
Fixed! not like a pet.
I found my answer to the first question!
I found the way to add a margin above the clock after some detailed apk investigating.
Below is a rough outline of the steps...
Pull and decompile System/framework/Framework-res.apk
Find the file Keyguard_screen_password_portrait.xml in res/layout
Add:
android:layout_margintop="20.0dip"
to the end of the line that starts with <com.android.internal.widget.DigitalClock (line 4 for me).
Recompile, push to phone.
Success!
