[Q] Need key combination for full screen capture - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the new Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100).
I know how to capture the part of screen by stylus but I want to capture the whole screen.
Anybody can tell me key combination to capture full screen.

little Confused.... What do you mean by full Screen Capture???
the S pen can do it by holding the button and holding the pen on the screen!!! Is that what you mean???

On the Note 1 you slide your hand across the screen, holding your hand in karate chop fashion.
Then you can go into the notifications, click on the notification and edit with Skitch etc

Do you mean the single page you are viewing but not the multi pages?
Never heard of a part screen capture.

Why don't you just use the s pen for screen capture..just press the button and tap on the screen...much easier than pressing multiple buttons.

Key combination is home + power key, or you can press the s-pen button and hold the s-pen on the screen for 2 seconds or so.

I honestly miss the sliding your hand over the screen. My Note 1 had that, and my friends S3 has it as well! I wonder why they decided to remove it from the Note 2. While I love the SPen, I don't ALWAYS use it! Sometimes I Just see something that I don't want to edit and just want to capture the screen and I just swipe and done! Now I'd have to take out the SPen, dismiss the autoaction, snap the screen shot, and then put the SPen back in. It seems like a waste of time. I hope Samsung brings back the swiping motion ASAP!

Settings, Motion, Palm swipe to capture screen.
Works great for me...

I also use to swype with my finger from left to right and it will capture your screen

Key combination: home button+power button. Hold it.

screenshot?

Edit - I'm an idiot.
To capture a screenshot, hit power+home. You have to hit home very quickly -after- the power button.

I believe also you can swipe your edge of your hand across to screen to obtain a screen capture.

Is there no other way?
On the galaxy note (the first one) I could swipe my hand across the screen and it could capture a higher resolution image than that of the SPen button press combo to capture.
I can't figure out how to do a screen capture on the note 2! I just got it last night, but still!!!
How do you take a screen shot without the SPen?
Settings, Motion, Palm swipe to capture screen.

Screenshot not allowed
For some apps screenshots are not allowed. IE bank apps.
How do I remove this?
swiping usually will cause the screen to shift slightly and not able to capture what u exactly want
Hold power + home for a few seconds.
EDIT: Looks like you have it. Ignore this

I was actually annoyed that I couldnt tap on the menu button and back button with the s-pen and found that there is a command for back and menu.
Open the help from your apps and choose s-pen and then commands to see it. You basically have to click on the button on the s-pen and while holding it down draw a command which is from right to left diagonally down and then to the right again for back. For menu if I recall its the top of a triangle from bottom left diagonally up then down right...I should have used my note to respond and paste an image in here

I dont think you understood me, but thanks anyway.
My question was, when i'm writing with my s-pen, i always accidentaly touch the back button, or the home or the menu button (physical and sensitive) . IS there any way to lock these buttons???????? like when watching a video and locking with power button, you canot anymore touch the home/back button, is there any way to do that in s-note? or any other apps
When I use the S Pen, the menu and back buttons are automatically disabled.
As a test, just on your home screen, hover the pen so the blue circle appears, then try and press the back and home buttons, they should not work.
Move the pen away, and they work again.
I too would prefer a way to lock the hard menu any back buttons. It is true that they don't work when the pen is in hover range but the moment it is out of hover range there is a high possibility that you hit them and they respond. It is impossible to always stay in that small range.
This feature would be really of great help when using the camera also. I keep accidentally touch the back button when trying to use the camera.

I understood the opposite of what you wanted
Mainly because as other member posted these buttons are locked while using the s pen. . However, if the s pen is not in range then they can still be pressed so you do have a point. . Maybe a customization feature in a rom. . ?? Feature request from the dev of the rom you are using?!
Well if you didn't know the s-pen shortcuts. . Now you do. .

Yea thanks
I'm not sure if that's possible but i know there's a post in the" how satisfied are you with your note 2" (or something like that) thread which has instructions on how to enable the on screen keys and disable the capacitative ones.

the problem is for me that my hand touches the back button before the pen is close enough to the screen...
stupid that there is no real setting in S-Note to disable the back + menu completly...
yeah I want that option too

yeah stupid, I'm just looking all over to solve this, but nothing yet. I also post two threads on other forums, maybe someone from SAMSUNG realize this is pretty stupid issue here,
that in writing phone, you have problems with writing.

Which app captures side button

Does anyone know which app captures S-note when you press side button? (when it switches to gesture mode).
Or is that integrated into framework itself?
I guess you might be talking about screen capture. Use the Lock key+home key combo to capture screen using hardware keys. Press down on them together for a couple of seconds. Otherwise you can enable motion for palm swipe based screen capture, or use the s pen to capture the screen.
If it helped, do press thanks

There's this 'GMD S-Pen control' app. Search for it on the play store. Maybe that's what you are looking for. One can create any custom gesture for the s-pen using this.

dude, my experience is after taking the picture with stock samsung camera, open the stock gallery and view the picture. Once it is on-screen in full view, click your 'menu' button to view options. One of them should be called 'Photo Note (front or back)'
click that and you can draw away to your heart's content! Hope that helps
No its not the same as taking screen shot with the s pen.

OK. misunderstood You... to take S Pen Screenshot you extract the pen, press side button then press and hold on your screen...It should auto take the screen shot and present it for editing

How to screenshot

How you screenshot on this phone?on my note 2 I could just swipe my hand across screen and it would screenshot. Anyone know?
Volume down plus power
Yup, this is the correct way to take a screenshot on the G4, AFAIK.
One could also tap on Quick Memo+ in the pulldown menu. This will take a screenshot and open it in Quick Memo+, allowing you to draw on it and whatnot - or just save it.

Ok thanks guys. Although it feels very awkward.... Haha
It's the standard way to take a screenshot on Android. Samsung added the slide the edge of the palm across the screen as one of their gimmicky tricks of TouchWiz. When I had the S3 and S4, it was finicky at best. It was much more reliable to press the power and volume down button.

I've owned the S4 and the S5, my wife currently has the S6 and I've NEVER been able to get a screenshot with the palm wipe BS.
I love the palm swipe Screen shot! It's very easy! However, my LgG2 is the best phone I've owned to date and I'm curious to see how the LgG4 is received. I skipped the G3 and went to note 4 so I'm watching really closely.
My main issue with the G4 will be battery.

I use Allinone Gesture and assign hold back touch button as a screenshot capture. That makes my life a lot easier.
