Also, how can I revert back to the original Playstore? Tried to install the original store apk but it gave me an error.

You should be able to install any copy of phonesky as you would any other apk and it will overwrite my themed apk. Works just fine for me though,,,are you sure your rom doesnt have the market as vending.apk or anything other than phonesky.apk?

Thanks for sharing your apps i snagged gmail too from your other thread. Do you have plans for other apps? Would it be better to have them all in one thread maybe.

Absolutely incorrect. It works flawlessly on Gingerbread. No idea about ICS.
Try to delete the market vending.apk from Root Explorer, /system/app, and re install the apk. Should work.

Hey Cam great job. Would it be possible to have just the inverted apk - not a flashable zip? I don't mind installing it myself. It's just that on DarkPA with (Mid) tablet mode I had transparent status/nav bar at 75% and after flashing this it reverted it to solid black and I couldn't get it transparent again.
Looks great though!
PM me and I can send it to you

[Q] Possible to install AOSP Messaging app on TouchWiz ROM?

Hi all,
After trying out CM10.1, I've found it to be a little too unstable at this early stage and have flashed back to Wanamlite. I can live with TouchWiz for now, but the one app on TouchWiz I really can't stand is the Messaging/SMS app.
Is it possible to flash an AOSP/vanilla version of the Android messaging app onto my phone?
Would it need to replace the TouchWiz one, or would it work side-by-side with it?
Where could I get an up to date AOSP SMS app?
Any help would be great!

Thanks mate I saw that - but seems to have a few bugs at present. Was wondering if it was possible to get the app another way.
Its possible. It replaces the tw version. There is one in themes/apps section for the sprint s3. You have to push the file to system/app. Rename it and set perm.

Works a treat. A little bit different to the steps they advised though; putting mms.apk in the system/app folder with the correct permissions wouldn't work - I could put it in there, but the application wouldn't actually load when rebooted.
I then tried installing it as an APK, but no go; Android said there was another system app installed. So I moved secmms up one level, rebooted into recovery, fixed permissions, and now it's fine.

Hi All,
Try this version. I took this from the S3 AOSP Codec ROM which is version 4.0.4~ish. Works great on my S3 (GT-I9300) with XXELL4 ROM 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
It has:
- Dark theme (4.2 theme I think)
- Emoticons
- emojis

Hmm. Honestly I'm not sure, never tried it myself. But I vaguely seem to remember reading elsewhere that someone did exactly that and it worked for them. (If I can find a link to the comment in whatever thread I read it in I'll post it.)
But you know how it works around here, do a backup first and then give it a shot. If it works, great and let us all know. If it doesn't, restore your backup and let us all know. : )
