Wiped without an OS backup - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So i rooted and wiped with WRPW or whatver. I forgot to load a new OS onto the SD card and now I cant boot. The computer wont detect it as a storage device to load one on either! Stuck at Kindle Fire loading screen.

TWRP or whatever, has an option to mount your sdcard to USB, the same way the OS does.

Right... so mount after you connect to PC... put OS on it, then flash

Connect it to PC, boot it into recovery mode, select mount and mount it for usb storage access, copy the ROM over and then flash it. And next time make sure you have everything ready before wiping lol

adb shell
adb mount sdcard
cd sdcard

fast boot says: no device found error...

Afaik, you have to boot into recovery, go under mount options, select mount sd card and then connect it to your PC. Usually it should detect your device.
I've always done the same.
And if you don't have a card reader, I don't think it's too expensive to buy one.
Thank you guys, ive solved the problem.
Now i have FXP Ice Cream Sandwich on my Arc! really great rom.
Thanks!

HELP: Deleted Everything on kindle fire!!!!!

Ok guys, i have truly screwed up. Im not sure if this is the right thread, but i need some serious help! I had my kindle fire rooted and flashed with cm9. It was running great then next thing i know i was getting spammed with "Sorry but the process com.android.phone has stopped working." everytime i click ok it would pop up again instantly. I looked online and it suggested a double-system wipe. So i did, but without thinking, i wiped the SD folder too! Which deleted my rom! My back ups are gone, i cant restore to anything! I still have TWRP v2.1.1 on it though. But when i boot normal it just sits at a black screen, help me please....

I think you should still be able to boot into recovery by turning on your KF and then continuously tapping the power button. Worth a shot right?

Oh no big deal. Boot into twrp and then you should have an option to mount (meaning mount sd card) click that and follow the instructions. Once you have your KF sd card mounted it should show up on your computer as a removable disk. The last step is just finding the ROM you want and putting the .zip file of it on your KF's SD card. After that you can unmount the sd card, return to the main menu of twrp and flash the new ROM you just put on your SD card.

Do i have to have it unplugged from computer, mount, then plug in, or have it plugged in already?
And it should look like this,
[X] Unmount System
[X] Unmount Data
[X] Unmount Cache
[ ] Mount SD Card,
right? if so, when i mount, nothing shows up under "my computer"

Boot into TWRP and then mount the drive using the advanced menu. Then you can load in a ROM to install.

stuck in recovery now what?

I updated clockworkmod recovery through rom manager. Rom manager said the install was successful. So then I boot into the recovery to flash the cyanogenmod 10 preview build. I do all my wipes data, cash, exe. Then I go to install the rom and I realize now with the new recovery I can’t install/restore anything from /extsdcard (external storage). It only has the option to install/restore from /sdcard (internal storeage) which would be fine except all my roms/backups are on my micro sdcard (external storage). I have already wiped everything so now I can’t boot my phone to fix it. Is there a way to install the old recovery after I have wiped everything. I was thinking about using Odin to flash the old recovery in download mode again (like I did when rooting) but I am not sure if this is ok to do. I tried mounting the internal storage to my pc to copy the files I need from my computer to my phone. When I plugged it in the box in the bottom right popped up and said installing drivers and they were successful but when I try mounting (anything) the computer does not recognize it. So I can’t transfer the files. Would someone who knows more than me give some advice please?

While youre in recovery, can you mount through the mounts and storage option? Im not on the recovery you are talking about but if you can mount it you can throw the rom on that way. If you cant do that you should be able to just boot up the rom thats currently on it and mount it that way. Just because you wiped everything doesnt mean that it wont boot up, it just cleared all of the data. It should load up with your previous rom.
Thank you very much. It gave me more insight on what was going on. I have my phone back up and working. I was able to flash the old recovery with odin and i hope this information will help someone else in future as well.

[Q] deleted ROM and can't connect to PC to flash new one

I was running MIUI on my phone (HTC One X, its the evita version), and it wasn't working properly, i was getting fed up with it, and long story short i by accident wiped my ROM.
I plugged it into my computer to load another ROM onto the phone to flash, and it wont mount. Windows wants to format it because it says it cant open it because its potentially corrupt?
All my phone will do is boot into bootloader and recovery (TWRP).
I know how to flash ROMs (i'm a complete noob, the most i can do is flash a rom and root a device) but i dont know how to get myself out of this one..
What do i do to get it to connect to my computer so i can flash a new ROM?
In TWRP attach to the computer and goto mount usb storage and copy a rom over.
If you got CMW: mount and format(something like this) ->usb mount

[Q] Kindle Fire has no OS and not rooted anymore! help!1

I was updating from ICS to JB so I downloaded this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2041694
After downloading the new ROM and made a backup of the original OS. I Rebooted my Kindle Fire. And the new OS was loading for 30 mins. I was very impatient because it shouldn't take 30mins+ So i rebooted it again and cleared davlik cache. The unlock screen for JB appeared less than a second and it went back to the booting logo which is the rainbow triangles spinning, and it stayed there. Very upset I accidentally deleted all the memory. Except this "broken" JB OS. I didn't realize what I did so I also deleted my OS. Now All my Kindle Fire runs on is TWRP.
Also, my Kindle Fire only connects to my computer through the micro usb when its in the stock OS. So I don't have any idea on fixing it. Please help!1!!!!!
Go into TWRP do a factory reset. Reboot.
If that doesn't work flash the rom again.

Well the problem is, it that I also did a System wipe so it deleted the OS and all of the ROMS so I have nothing to flash.
Also my Kindle cannot connect to my PC because on my laptop it cannot download the driver and on my PC it cannot connect unless I have the stock OS as the main OS ( I don't have any OS)

Well if you should be able to go into twrp and select mount where you can mount it as a usb storage, then you connect it to the computer and copy a new rom to flash. No need to install drivers as it will appear as a usb device where u can transfer files
