Well, first of all hello to everyone.
the issue is that i updated some app and the smartphone lost all signal, then i checked the IMEI and it appear this 00000000000, so i was like what happened?
Then i started reading and i should have a EFS folder so i can recover my phone but nothing, my phone is rooted and using root explorer and looking everywhere i can NOT find EFS folder.
What can i do then to recover my original IMEI? My Gio is dead? Thanks in advance.
Try installing a custom.rom maybe i dunno honesrly

so why dont you repair it first before buying a new one??

Service center won't be able to fix you imei, no one can. You have to get a New phone unless you backed up your efs folder...

Service center can bring back your imei.. My friend has the same problem, get the phone to the service center, and it fixed..
I wont say it if there are no proof..

Maybe service centre can fix it if the guy made a note of imei number otherwise buying a new phone is an only option left

claimed it,
funny reason : i got the damage after a software update from kies, well the one who checked it gave me my warranty and will be repaired by them.
But i will have to wait since it needs to be shipped to another place since we dont have a service center in our place

yeah there is, but you have to have a backup of your original IMEI... which i assume you do not have. there is a thread about this issue in the dev section, and toolkit to back up your IMEI
just out of pure curiosity, what recovery are you using?
Nope, I do not have a backup.
Just search in the development section for imei recovery and there is one to get it back even without a backup. Might be issues with you not actually getting 4g again but this way you can return it back to complete stock.

That's not true. Very experienced android flashers have lost theirs, it's a fluke within the recovery and flashing a rom or modem anything being flashed has been reported to make it being lost. Only thing is I think TRWP hasn't been reported to cause it being lost. Anywho... back it up.

Has to be sloppy flashing. Jumping to jellybean without wiping data or using superwipe from the Hercules or something.

As the title says I update to 4.1.2 on thursday from stock 4.1.1 after update chexk everything worked and went ahead and rooted this beast . So then I had rooted stock 4.1.2 NO problems. Everything worked perfectly until Saturday afteroon when I went to exchange my batteries and accidentally took my sim card out also , which I thought was no big deal . Placed sim card back into phone booted up and then I got the Notification of No Sim please insert Sim . Checked and double check I put sim in correctly even tried different Sim but it doesnt work at all.
So I thought I could just figure it out on my on so just did some searching and trouble shooting attempted to flash a few different kernals and modems for phone found in the Dev section Stickies .
EVEN UNROOTED and went back to stock 4.1.1 and updated again to No avail tried root injected stock roms Nothing works .
I REALLY NEED HELP GETTING THIS TO READ MY SIM CARD AND WORKING BACK TO NORMAL , AS I USE IT FOR WORK AND SCHOOL .
Edit : when I rooted I made a back up but while flashing odin and unrooting I forgot about it and guess it got deleted wish I would of rememered right away and used it to revert back and see if that could of fixed it .

May not be the swiftest, but it seems valid and sound. I recently had the mother board of my phone replaced, and used the nand I had on my SD card restored in minutes. The repair shop had to port my phone number to the new board. New board equals new serial number equals required to port number equals nand not impacted by new number.
