I would really like to start building a rom. Can anyone direct me to a thread or website that could explain how to do this?
Check out chef central there are some really good guides there.

Were a dev team that started out in the evo forums and have since move on to both the Hercules and skyrocket. Right now we are building back up as some members just never showed up. We need themers, devs, and testers. Thank you in advanced. Either leave your Google+ name here or add me on Google plus. Rabbit Garcia.

Glad you guys are happy to join. I know this forum is aa little disjointed.

Awesome, glad to help with what ever I can
If you guys are still looking for help, I would be interested. Taking a break from school and would like to learn Android and how to dev. Not sure how much help I would be right of the bat. I currently work in software verification for embedded systems on turbines. Most of my coding experience is scripting in LABView, so I don't think that is you helpful here, but as I said, I understand the basics and would love to learn. I will be looking to learn on my own, but I think a team environment would be good as those more experienced could help guide me.
Hey im M&S a Developer/Themer and the face of ADT for the GSII.

You can check out my work in my profile, all my threads are locked but whatever lol
If you need anything let me or my theming partner Evi1Art know...

You can help this community by not opening threads that already are opened. The search button does wonders

Agreed, there are at least 4 threads on this matter and all you have to look at is the amount of support (change log) and look to see what you like after 2 hours max of reading you will find what vest suits you. At least do some research (state the rom and the features you want, need, and questions you have about each rom) and then you'll get some responses that aren't derived from frustration at laziness.

Sorry about that mate. If a mod could please close the thread.

Or after reading you can just post any further questions here as it may be helpful toward the community. I'll probably see it updated and I'll give you personal feedback. I've flashed them all and tested for at least two days even took notes down at one point lol.

Greetings,
We are seeking an experienced developer for our new project. This is a fairly simple project that can be finished relatively fast. For anyone interested please respond here and I will go into more detail. Thank you.

Some more info would be really useful. Are talking about ROM/Kernel/App/Coding development or something else?

Yep...Also its in the wrong section...
Controversies,controversies everywhere :what:
I'm closing this thread, since this is in the wrong section. However, OP, I've sent you a PM with proper instructions on how to get a listing in the XDA Job Board.
Hello everyone,
I'm interested in building my own ROM for my phone and would love to build directly from AOSP source. I've done some research about setting up the build environment and everything, but unfortunately all guides I have read and found is for the Nexus set of devices. I have also read about cooking and building from CM, AOKP, RootBox, ect... But I would much rather build straight from AOSP.
Can anyone give me some tips/links on where I can start?
Thanks!
Re: [Q] Where should I start to build from AOSP
Google has a bunch of great information on the AOSP website. Guides and everything.

I am aware, I have been primarily searching Google but the only results I find are for other phones. I don't seem to find any information for this phone, and that's what I'm looking for. =)

I don't think you're quite understanding me. The main aosp website has a section that tells you all you need to know about how android is built from the ground up and how to get started doing that.
Edit: at least it did when I started looking into it. Haven't been to that site in a while.

I found somewhere in a thread here in xda someone had put together a pdf that explained how to develop specifically for the I747. Search around. I've been trying to look for the thread but have had no luck so far

Your motivation gave me the will to find it lol. Knowing that it was there I spent about an hour searching and combing these forums to find it, and I finally did! =D
Wasn't the title I was expecting it so I probably overlooked it a few times lol.
