PowerAmp question - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I purchased this app and would like to use it as my main player, but it's sitting on the back burner because it doesn't fade out when I receive GPS directions or switching to another music app like DigitallyImported. I tried going through the settings and searching online, but no luck.
Please help

Well depends on what Google Maps or Navigation app you are using. I am going to give you advice based on the Google default Map and Navigation apps. So under PowerAmp you hit the settings menu and go to Audio, Audio Focus, and then make sure that you have the Short Audio Focus Change and Permanent Audio Focus Change checked. I have not had an issue with audio fading out for directions when using these settings and the Google Map and Navigation apps. The only app that has caused me issues with PowerAmp not stopping audio is the iHeartRadio app which, for some reason does not pause PowerAmp and, instead plays both audio streams ontop of each other until I manually pause one.

Thank you! Looks like my issue is that I'm still running v1.xx so audiofocus was not available in the menu. I'll have to update

Is there a poweramp setting to silence notifications when it is playing? I'm thinking that there is but I can't find it.

Anyone?

Bluetooth - PowerAMP Vs. Default Player - FIGHT!

So been using PowerAMP for music, which has been great. I only have one issue currently. I have bluetooth headphones connected, manually launch PowerAMP, audio works great, however if I hit "Skip" on the headset the default music player starts to play and PowerAMP pauses. Even if PowerAMP is in the foreground this happens.
In PowerAMP I saw an option to allow you to control with the headset controls, which I have enabled, and saw an option to up the priority of PowerAMPs headset controls so it would override other apps( theoretically anyways ). However it still launches the default music app.
I haven't seen any options in the default music app that allows you to change the bluetooth setting, and I have PowerAMP as the default app for music.
Am I missing anything here? Anyone else have this issue or is it just me? Couldn't find anything Googling around.
+1 for making a reference to a video game from the 90's! I loved Mortal Kombat!
Not that I have any suggestions, but what ROM are you running? I'm currently on Caulkin's E4GT EL29 ROM, using PowerAmp and a bluetooth headset but I'm not having any problems with the default music player...

I was on that same ROM Caulkins, and still had this problem. Last night I flashed Blazer 3.8 and then restored apps and system data with Titanium( System data restoring may have re-caused this issue, not sure, didn't test before the restore ) and I'm -still- having this problem. Annoying as hell, lol.
never had such problem, except once... and at which time I used Titanium Backup to delete the stock music app. problem solved, stock music sucks anyways.
If you dont want to fully delete the file you could always freeze the stock music app.

Same: Rooted; used SystemAppRemover to yank stock music app. Should be universal solve for any ROM. However, yes there are many other apps to remove stock apps

This. I also have poweramp and have not ran into this issue. Now, I did have to remove the stock player from my EVO for the same reason but this situation has never happened on my E4GT currently on this same ROM.
Have you tried to change the defaults? There is a program on the market called Default App Manager that would allow you to change all 'associations' to poweramp.
Note: Back when I had the EVO, I found myself being unable to launch poweramp when I clicked on a music file from a file manager, the phone would display a 'not valid file' error even though I was able to play the file fine using poweramp's library. The only way to fix it was to restore the stock player and then any file that was 'tapped' would launch properly using the stock player.

[Q] Google music fighting poweramp

Hi,
First things first. I'm running JB touchwiz and rooted.
here's my system info if you need it. http://imgur.com/YQ2rILN.png
So, here's my problem. I am using two different players (technically 3 if you count pandora which I don't use very much) - PowerAmp (paid) and Google Play Music. The reason I have 2 players is because I have way more music than I can store on my phone which is where google play is nice, but I also like listening to FLAC files -google play only plays up to 320 - I also like having music on the device in case I lose 4g signal, and I like poweramp's interface much better. Because I'm using two players, they often compete for which one plays. I use my phone to stream music to my car stereo and alarm clock via bluetooth, and when I connect it to either device OR to my headphones via wired connection, poweramp overrides google play and starts playing whatever I listened to last, even if I killed the program previously or was listening to google music last. Basically, when I connect anything, it defaults to poweramp and not Google play regardless of which I was listening to. I want this the other way around, since I use google play much more often since I have so much more music on it. It's endlessly frustrating.
Now for the question - Is there a way to reverse this, so that when I connect my headphones or stereo it will default to playing from google music and not poweramp? Or, even better, is there a way to integrate google music's streaming ability in to poweramp somehow?
Oh, one last thing. I am wondering if there is a way to make PowerAmp and Google Music show on the touchwiz lock screen, with controls? Currently neither do, even though I have the option enabled in PowerAmp.
Thanks!
I haven't used TouchWiz in a long time, but I know with AOSP, there is an option regarding what the phone does when a headset is connected. It's at System settings > Sound > Launch music app for AOSP users.
Seems like you could fix it there. Before this option became available, I was using Tasker to accomplish the same thing.

There doesn't seem to be any such option in that area. I did just think of something, Is there a way to replace the lock screen that doesn't suck? i like stock aosp lock screen better than touchwiz, I just like touchwiz for the guestures and shortcuts and such.
Use tasker
In power amp there is a setting to turn off the auto play when connected.

I can't help with your priority question, but I can tell you that with TW, you lose lockscreen music control ability. I know it's dumb, but it is what it is.

Hey that sounds like a very good idea. I just need to learn to use Tasker. Please feel free to elaborate.
I'm having this same problem. I have a Verizon S3, and have a tasker profile set up so that when I connect my phone to a power source it will automatically turn on bluetooth, connect to my car, launch google play, and start playing the last played song.
The problem is it launches Play Music, but starts playing Poweramp. Play music is what's on my screen, but when I swipe the notifications down PowerAmp is playing the music. I've checked everything and it should be set up correctly, but this still happens.
Any Ideas?

Have you checked the headset settings in poweramp to make sure no auto resumes are selected?

Yeah, Checked and removed the selections for that. And nothing in the Tasker profile is connected to Poweramp, yet it continually plays music from it...

[Q ] Annoying bluetooth

I've been using ford sync to stream audio from the phone to the car via bluetooth. When I make a call and end it, the phone starts playing music through the bluetooth via the music player. I don't want the music player to automatically start, I want it to go back to streaming the audio I was playing.
My question is this, Is there a way to stop the default music player from automatically play anything with bluetooth when ending a call? If not, maybe disable the default player altogether?
Thanks.

That should be an option in your music player.

There are only 3 setting in the setting menu on the phones music player. I know this has to do with the phone. It wants to default to the factory music player and not the last app playing sound before the phone call.

If I were having this issue, I'd use ROM Toolbox's App Manager to find the default music player in question and freeze it.

A2DP Bluetooth Issues

I have a Bluetooth headset that supports A2DP and Phone audio (Sena SMH10R). Phone/Call audio works and always works. A2DP audio works with music and other 'continuous' streams. The problem happens when I use Google Nav or other software like this that push audio over A2DP every now and then. When I pair the headset to the phone and start Google Nav, it will work for the first few turns, then it will stop working. I am unable to get this working again unless I: reboot the phone, toggle the "Media Audio" option in Bluetooth, or toggle Bluetooth on and off.
During the state of A2DP being broken (before I fix it with one of the three methods above) phone/call audio to the headset still works. However during this time, no A2DP audio works (music, navigation, notifications).
The only workaround to have navigation is to play music in the background, then launch Google Nav. Google Nav will interrupt the music every time it needs to provide me with directions, however this is less than ideal as I don't always want to listen to music.
I originally thought this might be a TTS issue, so I tried different TTS software (Ivona for example) however this did not fix the issue. Using a different Navigation software like Waze also did not fix the issue.
I have 2 HTC one M8's and I have tested both with stock unmodified (Sense 6) as well as the fully converted GPE. I have also tested this with two of the same headsets. Headsets have latest firmware, but I tested with previous versions as well.
Any ideas what I can do to get this working correctly without having to stream music?
Thanks guys!

That would work but I was hoping for more of a fix rather than a workaround.

I was browsing and found someone had a similar problem as you. Try "a2dp volume" on play store. After reading description it sounds like it might work for you.

increase sound bluetooth headset

Hello everyone, as the title, how can I further increase the earpiece volume? because at the moment if I put the sound you hear at most up
sorry for my writing but I write from google translator
thank you in advance
can someone help me please
Not sure if this will help you, but I use a blueparrot bt250 headset and its plenty loud. I'm a truck driver by trade and it works well both hearing me on the other end and me being able to hear in the noisy environments I use my phone. Here is the website. http://www.vxicorp.com/solutions/blueparrott-bluetooth-mobile
unfortunately for the use that I have to do is too expensive, I use it when I have to do some traveling in the car, then a few times; I was looking for an application to increase slightly the audio so you feel good even if there are many noises

I'm sure there are apps for that or hacks. I don't memorize any that I can say.

time ago I found an app like this but I could not use it because it took root permissions, but I do not remember his name
In case you're streaming Bluetooth from a cell phone and notice the sound quality take a plunge, attempt this: Close any applications you have running that tap your gadget's Wi-Fi, cell, or GPS associations particularly those that stream information, in the same way as Spotify or Youtube. These can meddle with the Bluetooth indicator. In case you're utilizing a music application, set it to download tunes ahead of time instead of streaming them continuously. Otherwise you have installed Volume+ on your device, you can navigate to Settings > Sound > Music Effects and activate Volume+. Then, you can launch the app itself to customize speaker/in-call/headset settings. You can choose pre-included EQ settings and personalize your own.
