[Q] Google Play store not working. - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Guys,
Once I flash a rom, u asks to touch the Green Android & the next step to enter Gmail user ID& bpassword & the Pay store works automatically,
But 2 Days before, i was trying to flash some new roms for my WF, but it never asks for Gmail User ID & password & the play store not works for me, it just force closes.
I Have tried using different play stores (apk's) from different forums but it always force closes.
pls. help.
Thanks,
Selva

After you have flashed another ROM you have to flash Gapps that contains google playstore

Wrong sub-forum.
Just saying.
This belongs in Q&A, since it's not development.
But yes, as Commandox stated, most ROMs require you to flash the Google apps separately.

Flash your ROM then flash GApps, then reboot. Don't reboot between flashes.
Hope it helps,
Francis.

[Q] Google Mail not available in CM7

Hey,
I've switched recently from Oxygen 2.01 to CM7 RC2. I did a full wipe (factory reset/cache). Then I installed the Google Apps and had the problem that I couldn't download from the Google Market. I reflashed the Google Apps (gapps-gb-20110307-signed.zip) and now I could download from market and had apps like Google Maps.
My problem now is: I can't use Google Mail. The Market says that it is already installed on my device but it's not displayed anywhere on the phone. Neither can I choose it with the ADW launcher nor can I see the app in the settings menu of Android. I already cleared my cache again and reflashed a third time the Google Apps.
Can anyone help me with this problem? Or does someone know how I get to the screen where I can choose which Apps from the Google Apps packet I'd like to install ?
reflash is your best bet
If the market is saying its installed, can you uninstall via the market. Then install it again.

Can't uninstall via Market. I will try to reflash CM7.
Ok! For installation of the CM7, I normally do is wipe, install CM7, boot for the first time, don't install gapps just yet. Enter settings and enable your wifi connection. Now boot to recovery then flash the lastest gapps zip, reboot the phone and should have the apps and screen to choose which apps to install from the market. Well! It happens for the first time you use the market app of course.
That how I do things, hope it will help your situation somehow.
Now I've got Gmail installed. But I had to download the .apk file. Couldn't install it through the market.
Thread can be closed. Thanks to everyone.
Just to let you know, the gapps zip file doesn't include any market apps. It only includes the Market (vending.apk) and the Google Account Sync setup. Everything that is Google you need to get from the market.
You could of tried to have used the web market as well to install it. But seems like you didn't fully wipe it or something messed up.
I fully wiped my device twice. Market said that it was already installed but it wasn't.
Hi ekwinoks
I had promblems with the google mail installation. I found out that the Google-Mail app is not available on the german market. So i used the Market unlocker app to download the mail app.

[Q] "Download Failed" - Market Problem after flashing...

Hi there,
hope you can help me. I used to have the usual OTA update, but got pissed because of the locations force from HTC. So I decided to downgrade and flash a custom rom.
I used the tutorial available here, did visionary, then s-off and eng radio s-off, even flashed the radio as recommended (after flashing the roms).
I tried several ROMs:
- [ROM] Android Revolution HD 5.1.7
- [ROM]LeeDrOiD HD V3.0.3 GB [KERNEL] V3.1.2
- [ROM][May 20]RCMix3D KINGDOM v1.0 Evolutionary Sense! THE ORIGINAL SENSE 3.0
All seemed to install fine, but all had the same problem:
Via Android Market, every download failed. Why?
Please help! I want my apps back!
Could be a router problem. Have you tried using the data connection rather than WiFi?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Have you tried clearing the data for the market app?
Setting>application>manage app>clear data and cache.
Sent from my TARDIS using XDA App
Router works fine,
cleared everything via the app menĂ¼. downloader, market, etc.
In no way, this phone does any download startet via market. Crazy thing is, that via http://market.android.com/ I can start the downloads, but not within the app.
I tried 4 Roms, and even the Stock Rom without root does not work properly anymore.
Please help, I am really helpless.
Did chat now about 2hrs with HTC live support. They are helpless too.
Resettet the phone all over, again and again.
Funny thing is, that under apps, installed apps, listed are:
- amazon mp3
- facebook
- soundhood
those three work. the others dont. neither am i allowed to mark google maps as "update automatically" (my phone is german), and every try updating or installing apps fails.
Funny thing is, that with a blank account, another gmail account with no content, it seems to work. But I need my main mail account of course, as I made purchases already, etc.
Please, someone here to help?

[Q] Unable to sign in a Google account for Play Store

Coucou !
I've got a problem after flashing a CyanogenMod on my Wildfire: I can't log in Google Play Store. I've checked for an answer, here and elsewhere: am I alone?
Here is my phone:
- ROM CyanogenMod 7.2, It worked with RC1, but with RC3 or Nightly 20120610, no way to log, freshly installed of course.
- Google Play 3.4.6 or 3.5.19, both installed from .apk from SD card, same problem. Application installed of course in internal memory, not extended nor on SD card.
- After or before MTD, same problem, tried both.
The application is correctly installed. I launched it and, then it asked me to add an account to go on. I select "Yes", of course, and the application close! Back to main screen.
I tried to manually add my Google account in "Parameters/Accounts and synchronisation/Add an account" (sorry, direct translation from french, I hope it's correct), but it only propose me to create a Exchange account.
What is wrong? What's the problem?
Have you flashed the full gapps rather than just installing the apk?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using xda premium
Yeh, cm7 aren't allowed any Google apps anymore for legal reasons, so you need to flash a zip first with all the files in. You'll then be able to connect to Google servers. http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip

[Q] Stuck and lost with Google Play Services - unable to update, please help

Symptoms
Google Play Services Error - receiving a message " An Application Requires and Update"
when trying to use "Update" , I get "Package file was not signed correctly. Uninstall the previous copy of the app and try again"
when trying to "Deactivate" i get "This app is a device administrator and must be deactivated before uninstalling"
this is now affecting other apps (Google Keep, Hangouts, etc)
I talked to Google already ,cleared download manager, did factor reset twice, no avail, same issue. their recommendation is to contact Asus
Yesterday I unlocked and rooted the tablet, same issue.
Any suggestions? I downloaded "com.google.android.gms.apk" but the system does not let me install it
Thank you in advance , I am stuck for over 3 weeks
You can try going into the Google Play Services app, then force stop, clear cache and clear data. This may do it.
What you may need to do, what I've had to do, is delete the Google account off your device, then add it back. (A reboot in between couldn't hurt.) Why this happens, I don't know.
I suggest to flash a factory image, may be, there is something destroyed in the firmware ...
Just wondering....

I am not sure that I have any clever answers right now, but to clarify the problem, is this with Google Play itself not letting you update or install anything (without producing this error message) or is it a specific app that you are trying to update which is the only one resulting in this error?

It is both
a) Google Play Services require an update (which refuses to install)
b) com.google.android.keep (Google Keep) requires an update (otherwise not letting to open -" This app won't run unless you update Google Play Services"). when trying to update it takes you to the same screen for Google Play Services update which fails.
If it helps, the store shows me 4.0.34 section under "What's new" which I think is not the latest Google Play Services apk
Thank you
tried both...

I tried both (multiple times), as installed by Google Support and forums
a) removal of all accounts
b) reset to factory image.
c) force stop, cache/data clear
same issues
any other thoughts guys? is custom ROM by only answer?
if it helps, this is an LTE tablet
How about this?

Don't know if it is possible but can you get the latest Google Play apk and install it manually?

I tried that too.. with noresults - may be not doing it right.
Used Wugs Nexus Root Toolkit (which I find to be excellent along with instructions) and tried to use ES file explorer to manually copy/load apk - no success.
thank you for trying to help

At this point I'd make backups and flash a new ROM (stock or custom LTE). Something's been corrupted that isn't easily fixable, and you'll save time in the end by starting over from scratch.
I would agree that it sounds very much like something is corrupt in the ROM that you currently have; I would have a browse through the appropriate forums and find a new flavour of ROM to flash onto your device.
I have also heard great things about Wug's toolkit but have yet to use it myself.... about all I *need* to change on my N7 right now is root so that I can install a few choice apps that would not run otherwise, but don't want to wipe everything just for the sake of it
removed google+ from my account, solved.

for all its worth, I solved it by reflushing factory image and removing google plus entry from my google account. no issues now. thanks to all who helped!
If that is what worked, I am glad you have a working solution I can't take any credit for suggesting what you had probably tried anyway.....

[Q] CM11 - "Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID"

[Q] CM11 - "Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID"
Okay... sd_shadow, I promise this will be the last edit and I'll find a way to use up those other posts!
After the hooplah that was yesterday, managed to get CM11 (06/14 Nightly build) and GApps (gapps-444-base-20150617-1-signed) on my Kindle Fire. It WORKS. Until I go to install an app, specifically Google Calendar. Then I get this error during installation:
Incompatible with other applications(s) using the same shared user ID

I installed Slack on the device, so now I KNOW it has something to do with the existing calendar app on the device. Any way around this? Is there a ROM for Google Calendar I could install to replace the stock calendar app?
I don't know, but you're not helping yourself by starting a new thread , every time you have a new problem.
Please change the thread title then post your new problem.
So I managed to get it working by installing Calendar from an APK and decided that's probably the best way to go from now on if I have any issues like this again. So everything works! But now I'm finding that I installed the wrong GApps... I installed the full version when I should have done the minimal version. How can I go about installing that without breaking everything again?
EDIT: Installed Google Apps Minimal Edition for Android 4.4.x and now gapps is constantly crashing. Calendar will still open, YouTube crashes.

I tried this and it was still crashing. I ended up doing a clean install of CM11 and the minified GApps they provide a link to, and I install my apps via APKs now... I've had no issues with the device since! It's so great to have a full functioning tablet in this lil' guy!
