[APP] NEW Google Play Store 4.0.27 + Inverted MOD + Multi DPI

A minor update to the new, cleaner Google Play Store v4.0 started rolling out earlier today. The new version is 4.0.27 which follows closely the previous version from April 19th - 4.0.26.
Ron and I tore down the apk but found only minor changes to translations and a small change to the manifest that removed android:excludeFromRecents="true" from one of the billing activities. There could be something we missed, but it does look really-really minor. If you're bugged by something like "marcados como NUEVO" vs "marcados como NUEVOS" and similar fixes, then by all means, download away. Your Play Store should update soon anyway, whether you want it or not.
Oh, and this is not fixed. Argh. But hey - it's on the list. Yay!
As was the case a week ago, we are seeing more and more reports of the Play Store's featured/promotional and recommended content coming back to life for those of you outside the U.S. When the Play Store refresh just came out, only people in the U.S. could see such content. It has since started showing up in many other countries, so if you've been holding off upgrading until further notice, consider yourself notified.
Even though v4.0.27 doesn't contain big improvements, we always try to make the latest version of the Play Store available to anyone looking for it.

I have the same problem from the picture on the first post.
The main screen is blank and I can only see the categories.
From what I've seen it is supposed to show ads from the apps.

I think I would like it more if they didnt create a list system with one app per line, but instead kept the grid system on the previous version but with this versions look, feel, and speed :good:

Does seem a little faster for me,
After the first 30 seconds of using it after updating i ran into lots of force closes from the play store
I simply cleared the data and cache for it and works fine now
So if anybody else runs into this, hope it helps.
Also does anybody know if its possible to display all your puchased apps in the play store?
On gingerbread before they changed the name from the market. they all used to show up in the 'my apps' section, at the bottom

Thanks for this but after flashing the inverted Google play mod my Google Play is now showing NO CONNECTION ERROR.
I tried clearing cache and wiping dalvik but the error didn't fix.
Any suggestion, advice what to do to? Any help would be highly appreciated.

This is a great ROM. Is it in this Rom possible to make an update to a newer Version?
The last Version is V7 (Based on CM10.1 Alpha 7. What happened by a newer version? Update possible? Or new installation required?

1st: CM10.1 Alpha 7 is the latest version. There is no update required as of now. Its up to date.
2nd: Here are links to download the stuff you want.. [1] [2] [3] Not sure if you would need this with the widget but here it is anyway. (Push the widget, task manager [if required] and gallery to /system/app and put correct permissions.
3rd: I need more info when you say start screen. Is it boot animation or lock screen? Boot animation is here. Lockscreen is preloaded in the 4th ROM link. Here's for CM10.
4th: ._. Digital Clock... really? You can't go on Play Store and find a widget? Try this anyway.
5th: ... Play Store is there for a reason... Try this or this. Your preference.
Tip: Google is your friend (unless you have safe search off) and so is the Play Store...

This is sweet! The new launcher sucks but it's awesome that you can just install these like regular apk's! Any chance we could get the new dialer? Thanks brah

Camera works on s3 LTE i9305. But fc on panorama and 360. Needs the new libs from the rom

Working perfectly!!! Thanks. I had to switch to home twice before the navbar and status bar gets transparent, but now is great (icons are a little bit bigger, but I liked it)

Gsmcore is Google Play services_4.0.30 (889083-38).apk
The one listed in the OP as Play Services is actually GoogleServicesFramework and will not install on anything lower than 4.4 (API 19).

The gsmcore.apk in the op is the update to play services you need.worked perfectly on my razr hd maxx running cm 10.2. The other file isn't necessary. Btw touch less control in the launcher works great.

GEL Launcher for Moto G

EDIT: Google Now Launcher is official on Google Play! Unfortunately, you need GPE Moto G to get it. Otherwise you can simply download the .APK, it will still work on standard Moto G. According to XDA you need 4.4.2 to actually get it to work though, but maybe it does work on 4.3? I'm not sure. Here it is!

Hi everybody! This is the Google Experience Launcher from nexus devices and i found an APK that works with our Moto G.
I posted this because i read around the 4.4 ota threads and some people didn't like the regular stock launcher and they wanted the google experience launcher instead.
Well, here it is! :good:
Works on KitKat AND Jellybean! Though i'd use it on KitKat so the experience feels better :good:

Here is the link! All you need to do is to download it and then just install the APK! Works perfectly on the Moto G.
Also saying "Ok Google" works perfectly.
All credit goes to android police for the APK and Google for the launcher. :good:

An addendum to your post: It will also work on Android 4.3. I used it on my HTC One with CM 10.2 and CM 11 and my Moto G with stock 4.3 and 4.4 and it works perfectly on both versions.

Thanks for uploading this! Interestingly, and sadly, I noticed the dialer doesn't include the KitKat "busines search" feature. This is something I would have used a lot, so I'm sad to see it not included. It's evidently a problem on the MotoX as well, so Motorola must be leaving the feature out of its KitKat builds for whatever reason.

GEL is great, I like how I get to choose how many home screens & choosing widgets/wallpaper the old school way. One thing I do miss is having the perm shortcut to the Google play store visible in the appdrawer

You have to go into settings>applications then find one of your home screen replacements, scroll down and "clear defaults"

If anyone is interested, the touchless control "hotword" feature does work. I can say "ok google" on home and speak a command. Under Google Settings > Voice, Language must be set as English (US) - English (UK) does not work. The 'Hotword detection' option should be available there.

I habe the problem that the icons are not really sharp when I use the Google experience launcher.
Has anyone the same problem or a solution?

From my understanding that's because it was made for nexus 5 with a bigger screen and better pixel density. Since our screens are smaller, it makes the icons larger and not as sharp.

Anyway to keep the GEL and get the icons smaller and sharper? Kinda ruins it for me .. Although the main reason I wanted this was for the improved dialer.

Confirmed working on Moto G running GEL. As mentioned in the video, only certain themes are compatible. Stark works fine and free theme Black.

There is an article on Forbes.com suggesting GEL will be officially available for all devices at some point in the future:
While the hack to apply GEL to your device is simple, the fact Google keeps updating it to work increasingly smoothly on an ever wider variety of devices indicates it will soon become an official option for all Android handset owners.
Should this happen it will be a key moment for the future of Android. It gives users who want the stock Android experience the option to have it without being forced to buy a Nexus or ‘Google Play Edition’ device yet it should not alienate manufacturers who can still sell their devices with their own skins as differentiators. In fact GEL may even see manufacturers up their game as many third party skins for Android are poorly coded and slow down the user experience. I used the Xposed module App Settings to change the dpi. Tip, change "Google Search" not "Launcher."

And how did that work for you? I think the icons are super big, and dpi chaging does not fix this unfortunately

A dpi of "303" seems a good setting. Icons are reduced and app drawer is 6x4.
