[Q] solutions for wet lcd and cam - Samsung Galaxy W I8150

what an unlucky day... about 10 hours ago, my wonderful android smartphone skydived from my hand into a 3/4 filled with water tub... i immediately removed the battery and waited for an hour to let it dry. then i turned the phone on, and i see the water trapped INSIDE the LCD and trapped condensed vapor INSIDE the rear and the back camera.. also, the LCD looks divided into 4 parts... after that, i turned my phone off again, and waited. i just turned it on a moment ago, aaaand the water spots are still there TT____TT
here's my phone (and me)

Actually there's a old fashioned way solution for hape mas bro. Put it in a bowl of rice (Masukin dalam beras).. Tapi itu Kalo mas bro have a little patience. gw pernah baca di kaskus, ganti layar lcd di ssc kisaran 1jt an (tapi itu Kalo ampe ganti). (capek juga ya nulis English)

Before putting it in rice you can pack it into a butter bread package
So the water Kenn go out but no contact with phone and rice
Sent from my GT-I8150 using xda app-developers app

Wrap it with some tissue paper , put it into some sillica gel (For Camera Dry-case) or a pack of thirsty hippo ( find it in supermarket), But it take at lease 3-4 days to get it done. Hope this help

part of Touch screen not responding

hey...
lately i hve been noticing that the bottom part (while phone is held vertical) of my defy's touchscreen is not working like i can't select settings button in latest edition of camera360 or delete icon in quickpic..!
so can somebody test these apps with their defy.... nd suggest me how to test my touchscreen??
try touch screen test apps such as Multitouch visbile test, search in the Android market.
tried touch test....encountering problem there also
so i guess would have to take it for warranty!!
i guess... it could be a digitizer problem...
actually m still confused whether its a touchscreen problem or not bcoz the problematic part seems to be just 4mm above capacitive buttons!!
just tell me are u able to close android's standard notification panel using touch in stock froyo??
Are you resolve this problem?!
My Defy have this problem too...
Hey guys,
My Defy had the same problem a few weeks ago but on the left part of the screen caused by condensed water.
I sent it to the repairing company in Germany and the device got a new screen. Now it is working again .
The repairing was for free due to warranty.
I hope I could help and sorry for my bad English ;-)
is there any other way to fix that problem ? i had similar problem, part of the top of my touch screen doesn't respond. i'm little bit confused if this problem caused by condensed water. defy supposed to be a water resistant right?

water resistant but not water proof!
My defy spaz's out any time rain drops are on the screen or even if my finger is wet or overly sweaty
so i'ts true about digitizer ? there's no other way except to replace the digitizer with the new one ?
any software fix like using other ROM?

Hi all (",) i just have exactly é same problem as Mr. ohyeach (top portion only not responding). As my Defy warranty is over, other than hardware fix, could there be any other way to fix it, like using another custom ROM? Thank you.

That could be caused by two things.
1. Water damage
2. Over heating of device(maybe the battery)
A friend of mines android phone got too hot that he had the same result. His was worse than this. when you look at his device carefully, you could see the shape of the battery underneath the screen.
It might be you left the device in a hot place or under you pillow or something like that, without any air flow with 3g or wifi connected.

According to the picture, the damage seem to have affected the screen. I dont think its the touch panel.
Is it replaceable at home or do I have to take the phone to htc service?
It depends on your skills. You can but it's not too easy.

SWR50 black band (rubber) is a static machine

Don't know if this is the case for many of you who is using the new smartwatch 3. My black band seems to attract fabric particles and dusts like crazy. The band itself looks really dirty and I had just cleaned it in the morning. The pictures below are taken after wearing the watch for 3 hours. And I am just wearing normal dress shirt. Actually, it doesn't matter what I weared as it was the same yeaterday.

Nice try, <fill in your own blank>... I was out and about over this weekend.
Back to topic, compared to my Gear Fit, I can wear it for 3- 4 days without taking it off and the band never does this. Hopefully, we got our metal band soon.

May be... it is getting cold here in Central PA, USA. About 40°F.
Same problème. My black band is grey.
I will own one soon. It might be a stupid question but if you pour water over it does the dust come out ?
It's quite easy to wipe off with your thumb, but it's there when you use some fibre sweaters...

Yes, the dust and particle are very easily wash off with water. Still rocking mine.
Yep
At least it a color changing band...It's a major dust magnet. I usually run my through the faucet everyday.
Can't really complain. Its winter it's often underneath sweaters/jackets and it's almost pristine. Actually I love how it feels, it's very ergonomic.

It won't. Because fp reader is included only with the original lcd. I will try to use the old one, but I have doubts that it will work.
Update. The screen and back cover arrived. Everything works just fine. Even the "3d touch" . I have 4/128 version. By dissambling the phone I had destroyed the vibrator motor. Will order another one. Also dont have FP reader and I wont put it back, because ive glued the new screen pretty well. In other words, for 50€ the destroyed phone raised for the new life.

Large bubble on screen

Does anyone know what could have caused this and how to fix it? I thought the battery leaked but it's perfect.

Looks like the screen cracked and delaminated. Excessive physical force... the looks like crack in the screen in the lower right corner.
Replace... and don't ever put it in back pocket.

Delaminated? Would that mean I can just replace the screen. Circuit board seems ok. I had it stored vertically in a waredrobe while I was in Australia for 2 years. Came back and it was like this. Raging cause it was a great tablet.

Maybe to took a hit you weren't aware of
Yeah if you're good with replacing the screen, no worries. Price it out vs a new better one.
Does it fire up at all?
How was Australia? Get much off the beaten path?

No doesn't fire up at all. Not a single blip. It was a handy little tablet but I guess there's better tabs out now. Still might be a good project if I can get a replacement screen cheap enough.
Yea Australia was great. Went out in Jan 2019. Lived in Melbourne, was a great city. Then covid hit and ruined everything. Got a week up in NSW before I came back, which was lucky since I hear NSW cases are on the rise.
There may be more damage. Don't waste money if not 99% sure.
