Hi.
So basically here's the deal.
Lt28i
Rooted ics rogers
BL locked
Odexed
Experienced in custom boot animations.
The question,
Boot sounds?
I have searched all over and even referencing the arc, play, galaxy series, Xperia s.
I have attempted all the methods for each device and it either does not work or breaks the animation completly displaying a black screen untill boot complete.
Also I have seen a few references relating to build.prop.
If any one could advise I believe this will bring a new element to my boot animations.
Thank you.

Problem Progress
--------------------------
1)
at&t animation works but is severely delayed and the sound only happens quick and short
not even at full length.
2)
Placing bootsound.mp3 or bootanim.mp3 in large animations zip file breaks animation and
sound completely.
3)
Placing bootsound.mp3 or bootanim.mp3 in system/media results in no change. Animation
plays with no sound.
4)
Decreasing the size of the bootanimation.zip(including sound) to under 3mb results in the animation
playing at the delayed rate(same as At&T) but no sound.

Soil have grabbed the animation and build.prop file from the at&t model and I didn't notice a difference in the build prop from one to the other relating to the boot sound so I'm am going to try the animation soon and I'll get back to you all.
-------------------EDIT---------------------
So I just installed the boot animation for the at&t model and the sound works but the screen goes black for 80% of the boot screen
then shows the animation very fast and plays the sound.
I am going to attempt this with my animations and manually install. I believe it may be due to the size of the animation file.
sound boots may need to be small in size..

Hello Again With a solution hopefully.
I have tested 2 of my lt28i animations with both a custom sound and the same one from
the at&t animation with a result not so good.
the animation still fails and displays a black screen untill boot complete.
Both of my animations tried were larg and sound file was larg aswell.
I believe an animation with a size lower than 100kb and a sound smaller than 100kb
it will work as the at&t does.
I will create a new animation and sound by the guidelines and report back.
Hello Again With an update to this issue.
Sorry it has been awhile. Its hard to find time these days.
So I am not sure what the problem is and why the device is operating in the fashion but
so far i have discovered:
at&t animation work but is severely delayed and the sound only happens quick and short
not even full length.
Placing bootsound.mp3 or bootanim.mp3 in large animations zip file breaks animation and
sound completely.
Placing bootsound.mp3 or bootanim.mp3 in system/media results in no change. Animation
plays with no sound.
Decreasing the size of the bootanimation.zip(including sound) to under 3mb results in the animation
playing at the delayed rate(same as At&T) but no sound.
I am at a complete loss with this situation. I am not well experienced with all form of the android os thus
i am unsure if this is a odexing, stock, coding, build.prop issue.
Again Lt28i ICS, Rogers Network, Rooted, CWM, Odexed rom(not deodexed).
Hmm interesting

Since this is the most popular Themes forum on XDA, I thought I'd ask here if anyone has any WVGA Shutdown animations to share.
Thanks,
-Rag.
what exactly do you mean by that? shutdown happens instantly there actually isnt the time to display something
You can actually add a .gif to display at shutdown (not soft reset, but real shutdown) similar to the animation.gif that plays at boot up. You can set this via registry editting or the Advanced confg. tool.
I have a Topaz from Vodafone and it came with branding => I had a theme in the vodafone color (red, white) and custom boot and shutdown sequences. The shutdown animation started as the Vodafone "teardrop" being surronded by a red background. It then was absorbed by the teardrop, it flashed briefly and faded away. Pretty cool actually, I wouldn't even mind having the same one. Oh yeah, almost forgot: I flashed dutty's rom, so that's why I'm searching for a new animation.
I think I digressed a bit. To sum it up: You can have a boot up AND a shutdown animation. I just can't find a "cool" one. That's why I thought I'd ask here, see if anybody has something to offer.
Greets,
-Rag.
wow dude, i didnt even know it could be possible, sorry cannot help anyway :\
Hi!
I've just flashed my samsung s with an official firmware xxjf3 (because I've made a mistake with the previous one....)
Now the phone is back like a new one, but I've noticed that the transition between homescreen and app screen has a very annoying and slow fade in/out that all other pages (options, direct app, widget and so on) don't have (they have another transition, faster and better - don't know how to explain).
It is possible to change this particular transition either by flashing the ohone again or change some file/hidden setting?
Thanks.
So, i made a boot animation that has around 220 pictures.
Ive compressed it ect and its turned out to be 40 mb -.-
im guessing that wont fit on my internal boot animation slot
Is there a way to reduce its size?
Thanks
Try reducing image quality, colours etc.
Also have you actually tried it? It may work
Yeah, it fits and everything, just i only have 20 mb left (according to root explorer)
Whats this memory used for? -In system media
Very slow with it in full screen, doesnt even make it through half of the animation
Try removing every other frame, that'll speed it up and usually doesn't decrease the animation quality much (so "keep one, skip one, keep one, skip one, keep one, skip one, etc.)
I have a Jedi-Mastered Galaxy Note II, and I would like to use Voodoo to change my shutdown animation from the Yoda one. I renamed the file (with _bk) and instead of going back to the stock black screen, it shows a dialogue with "Shutting Down" in it. I would prefer to have my own animation there, but if i can't do that, the black screen is more welcome.

It now looks like a checkerboard pattern and also the glow around the fingerprint reader seems to move around more rather than just glow around your finger. Am I the only one seeing this or is this part of the update. It's cool looking, just want to be sure it's not a glitch
Here's a screen recording. I used a non saved finger the 2nd time to show more of the animation around the finger but you can also see the checkerboard unlock animation.
Mine doesn't do that but I have animations turned off. Just turned on animator duration scale to 1.5x and checked and it does similar to what's in your screen video. I just got the Play System update today after seeing mention of the update over on Android Central forums.
Same here, I don't have that effect but I have animation speeds set to zero.

Ι dont have this
I just checked my dev settings and settings are at 1.0x for window animation, transition animation and animator duration. I haven't changed anything.
Welp, I just did a force restart and now the unlock animation is back to what it was originally. Hopefully Google is going to let us customize the lock screen in a future update bc the clock is horrendous but changing animations may be cool too. We'll see in time I guess.
I've got the Play System update (dated Nov1), and my unlock screen looks nothing like that.
I don't have the animations disabled or the speed changed. My fingerprint icon is different (solid lines instead of the dotted in your video). there's no weird "aura" animation around the fingerprint reader, and there's no checkerboard pattern either.
Are you sure you don't have a custom theme installed that would interfere?
