I just bought the spen with eraser from eBay and it is great. Feels better and the eraser is cool. I have the spen holder too and that is junk. Highly recommend this

Just tried it with. Lecture notes and the eraser worked great by defsult
Same one I got. Hope it's in the mail tomorrow.
I got this same one from a diff seller on EBay a few weeks ago. Works as great as all the others have mentioned. Took about 10 days to get it.

I should have bought this one...darnit! Looks great!
Are the tips changeable?
Yes mine came with additional tips.
Does the writing match up exactly with the tip--like the stock pen--or is there a slight offset? I got the Samsung pen for the Slate, and there's a slight offset which is very annoying. Thanks!

Writing is as good as, if not, better than the one supplied with the note. There is no offset with this one and it feels very natural to write with.
Can't wait to receive mine.

The offset, for one, and the pen tips for another, I believe.

My excitement quickly turned to frustration... i bought the pen from the same ebay auction everyone is using . I received the pen today and it doesn't work. There really are no instructions in the guide, nor are there any troubleshooting tips. I restarted my tablet (8010 edition), I changed the nib and I tested the pen tip and eraser tip with multiple apps. Any suggestions?

Did you fix settings?
You need to uncheck battery saver option in pen settings. If you keep your original pen in the note.than the new pen wont work if. It is checked.

Hey guys,
In excitement to receive the new S III on Verizon, I have set to search for cases, screen covers, etc. However, I happened to come across the Samsung S III C Pen in another post and was wondering what your thought were on it. Has anyone try it yet?
I'm an Animation Student in Digital Arts, and would like to use the C Pen for quick sketching on the S III.

While I can't speak to the C Pen itself, my understanding is that it is just a capacitive stylus, unlike the S Pen for the note. That being the case, you will probably end up with a similar experience to other capacitive screen styli. Their quality can vary greatly but they are all just trying to replace your finger.

I don't think this is true. I saw a video (can't remember where now) that showed this C Pen in use and although it wasn't like the Note's S Pen, it wasn't like a normal stylus either. It is supposed to only work on the GS3 from what I understand and the person in the video used it on an iPhone to prove it. I ordered one yesterday. I will update this post once I get it and let you all know what I think of it.
I also have the Galaxy Note phone so I will be able to compare the 2.
i have watched one video, the only thing interested me...was that the stylus works only on S3, but no respond on iPhone.
Just wonder if it was true or not. and whats the point for that....:good::good:
I bought one last week and ended up sending it back. It looks and feels fantastic, but it didn't work that great with my screen protector installed (Zagg InvisibleShield) The surface was too "tacky" for any real precise usage. I mainly bought it for Draw Something and stuff like that. Now if you don't have a screen protector it should work perfect. Also I was under the impression that you could use it on tablets as well, going off the Amazon description that says: "Replacement for using fingers on your tablet or smartphone touchscreen" Sadly that isn't the case. I tried it on my Acer Iconia a500 tablet and my wife's Galaxy Nexus and it didn't do a thing. That's mainly my fault though for not doing research on it before hand and just going off of the Amazon description. So all that being said, if you don't have a screen protector installed or have something other than a Zagg InvisibleSHIELD, you shouldn't have an issue with it.

If it is the same as the Zagg where the screen protector is tacky, then it will probably have the same results. It would probably work better if there isn't a screen protector on there or a crystal clear one. I have a regular capacitive stylus and using it on my Transformer, you can feel a little resistance with a "tacky" protector.

The SGSIII uses a capacitive stylus. I tried my GNote stylus on the SGSIII and it does not work. The GNote can take a WACOM (Stock) stylus and a capacitive stylus and work I believe.
I do like using S Memo from my GNote to jot notes so I ordered the OEM Stylus for my SGSIII as well.

Yea I know. I also have the GNote but I also have the Wacom Intuos 5 tablet and my GNote stylus does not work on it and the Wacom stylus does not work on my GNote either. I also ordered the OEM Stylus for my SGS3. Should be here early next week. :good:
And for the OP. Your first mistake was putting a Zagg shield on your phone. I used to use them on all my phones pretty much when they were the only option but Zagg shields suck. They're tacky like you said and they discolor, turn an ugly brownish color and the corners eventually peel (quicker than most other screen protectors I've used). There are plenty of better options out there now. I, personally, choose to keep my phones naked now. :cyclops:

A wacom pen works with magnets. You can actually write though something as thick as cardboard and it will still work.

any update? how do you like it?
I got the C pen today. If you are thinking it will be close in operation to a WACOM pen or the Galaxy Note, it is not. Not even close.
The C pen is well made but the rubber tip skips along and is not smooth. I have not quite figured out the best angle for writing (I am left handed). The C pen does work for flipping screens and apps etc.
I will keep it and play with it some more, but it is really more of show off feature that is not nearly as useful as it is on the GNote. I wanted to try it because I do actually take and keep notes on my GNote. I will update if I discover anything new.
The S pen is absolutely not worth it. It doesn't work on any other devices besides the SGSIII
And it really doesn't work any better that other styli on the SGSIII. The only thing it has going for it is that it looks beautiful.
Okay, this is very annoying.
The rubber tip of my s-pen broke off!
I now have to write much more 'vertical' because now the tip of the spen is quite flush with the rest of the pen.
I think I'm going to have to superglue something to the end, it's too blunt now.

plastic isn't going to scratch the screen. Otherwise, all the note 1's users would have been ripping their screens to shreds.
I am pretty sure s-pens are not cheap too. I wonder if I can get a new one under warranty somehow.
I don't even use the s-pen all that much, so I might just live with it.
- Frank
Shouldn't the S-Pen be covered by the same warranty the phone has? This site does say one year warranty: http://samsungfulfillment.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=69

Hrm. Now that you mention it - I never actually took a close look at the tip of the stylus before, so I have no idea if it was ever on there at all.
is it possible to replace the stylus/s-pen tip/nib?
does anyone know where I can get new ones?
mine is showing signs of wear.
I believe with the Note10" it comes with spare tips in the box. My note2 didn't come with spare tips.

The nib for the Note 2 s-pen is not replacable but if you have an s-pen for the Note 10.1 it will work with the Note 2 but will not fit into the Note 2 slot.

Hi there,
So my business would be made so much easier if I could have documents signed directly on my s3. I've got the app that performs flawlessly but now I just need the stylus.
As I wait for the Note 2, are there any fine tipped capacitive stylus that is well known and works well?
Thanks for your response.

I've got a Hand Stylus which works well, it's got a 4mm tip. Smallest tip you can get that isn't device specific.
There's also the C-Pen (if I remember the name right) from Samsung made specifically for the S3, but I've heard it isn't very good.

So it's a good stylus then? The center of the disk reads fine and all that? It's weird but their videos on the site focus more on the idea of the product than actually showing it in action. That got me kinda thinking it wasn't as good as they were making it out to be.

I'm trying to use my Bamboo feel on my 2014, but it's off by an uncomfortable amount. Is there a fix for this? Will there be one?
if it's like the note 8 then, not without kernel source. on the note 8 you can't calibrate or change anything without editing the kernel. you may be able to pop off the button and adjust two potentiometers there and adjust your offset. my feel registers perfectly without adjustment..

I'm assuming you're also using a non-standard pen (ie bamboo or something)? My situation is just as you say. It's about a mm off to the bottom right. I said it was uncomfortably off.. but that might have been an exaggeration. I"m using it now to do my calc homework and it's not bad, but I'm getting into drawing and ti's going to be a little troublesome there.
If you find a way to fix it let me know. Thanks.
mine actually says it's for galaxy note and devices with wacom digitizers. it's a w300UK something. unless there's another one floating around mine is supposedly made for it. good thing about the windows tablets is that i can calibrate pens, so if i adjust any pots it should be able to just run calibration again on the win tabs.

Not sure if the pen body is shorter or if the nib is shortened.
You could use a fingernail emery board but what ever you use if you take to much off you may not be able to get the nib out.
2mm = 5/64 inch or 0.0787401574804 inches.

I have the same pen, and I am returning it. the "2" version is smaller on the taper part of the pen. That maybe the missing distance required for proper alignment. I gave the pen a week or so, and I have decided that the offset is way too much to live with. If there is anyone that has tried the new version, I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

I bought it and air command and cursor Work, there is a slight offset if you hold the pen at an angle. There's no offset if you hold it straight up I also don't like the included hard nib, I'm scared of scratching the screen. The eraser Works well and its more pressure sensitive than the S-pen

That is similar to the feel, vertically there no offset. I will probably give it some time and e-mail wacom before buying the other version.

I ordered the "2" version of the Bamboo Feel directly from Wacom's site and just got it. It works MUCH better than the widely available version (which I got from Amazon). As you said the tapered part of the pen is shorter, and I am able to write at an angle with minimal if any offset. I am able to make precise drawings without having to either hold the pen vertically or trying several times to get accurate lines. Also, so far I'm noticing far less random squiggles at the end of strokes that I was getting with the normal Bamboo feel. I'm happy I got this.
I ordered the Bamboo Feel on Amazon and everyone is right, in LectureNotes I had to make a 14 pixel offset to the left with that stylus. I am returning the Feel 1 and getting the Feel 2 from Wacom as noleafclover has posted. Thank you for the suggestion.
Looking for a full sized, nicely weighted, pen-feel stylus that has definitely been confirmed to work with the 2014 edition with no offset etc.

I tried the bamboo feel carbon model, there is a significant 2mm offset. I also tried a bamboo fell model for galaxy note, it has much less offset, but also a little bit.
I've been using a Microsoft Surface stylus without any issue. Please note I do not keep "show stylus" enabled on my Notes, but where the pen lands is where the pen draws, there is no offset with actually writing / drawing. The eraser also works. I figured I would give it a try once I heard Microsoft has a Wacom Digitizer.
Best price is surprisingly Best Buy http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pen-for...429707&skuId=8412048&st=surface pen&cp=1&lp=1 Amazon is quite a bit more http://www.amazon.com/Original-Micr...=1382232699&sr=1-2&keywords=surface+rt+stylus

It has the weight / feel of a mechanical pencil, not sure if that helps any but it's not bad at all.

I like the bamboo feel more, but i've heard it has offset issues and i'm not sure if it has an eraser so this might end up being better.

Yea I'd probably also prefer the bamboo feel but the offset is too much. If the surface pen works as well as its reported to work then I'll be happy. I've been looking around for the Samsung s pen. But only amazon has it and I'd rather not have to worry about return shipping. I might pick up a surface pro pen tomorrow.

If I do get one tomorrow I'll report back tomorrow evening.
I know that one guy/gal said that the cursor wouldn't show up if you hovered the tip over the screen, but does the air command and other stuff still work?

Good question, @wingdo do you know if airview and other pen features work? Did you disable the Cursor because It doesn't work?

I bought the surface pen, For the most part it does everything the s pen does but there is a slight offset it you use it at an angle. The eraser is a nice addition .

Everything works just as expected including the eraser, this is a stylus made for a Wacom Digitizer on the Surface Pro. I think it is the exact same pen as the Samsung one which is so hard to find. I keep the pointer disabled because I find it highly distracting.
Also I'm not a fan of the harder tip on the surface pen. It seems like you have to press harder on the screen for it to register.
I just bought the surface pen as the s-pen was giving me hand cramps for extended writing periods.
So far, the offset is quite noticeable with the cursor on and annoying when trying to draw pictures with. However for taking notes, I found it to be manageable especially with the cursor off. I'm going to stick with it until something better comes along or some way to calibrate it with root.
The harder tip is certainly preference. I'm enjoying it quite a bit as theres hardly any resistance from fingerprint smudges.
I picked up the Surface Pro pen as well. The offset is pretty large which may be how I'm holding it. If I hold it vertically it centers right up but as it tilts the offset increases.
