Any body have a link to an up to date tutorial on how to compile and build an aokp based rom and add mods to it?
Thanks.

Hell, if you can understand what you're doing, you can get away with a 40-50GB partition with both a compiled aokp + source + base os install.

Hello pps, my normal tag is atreyu381. I am a THEMER and member of Sourcery rom. You can contribute by voicing your thoughts on droidforums.net for eagle or devortex to recieve developer of the month for June. The team is trying to get a GSM nexus to port this too.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
You may even be able to nominate without having to select the option that you flashed the rom

Jb source code isn't even out yet.
Sent from a thingymajig that sends things.
Even when its released, I dont think you could get the 25$ credit, mainly because I'm pretty sure thats piracy.
I just ordered my nexus 7 I can't wait!!!!

Hashcode has already said he will start working on a ROM for the fire when the source code is released in mid-July. I am good with that.

It should already be there system wide... you could try downloading the add on dictionary in keyboard settings if you haven't already done so
It won't be all colorful and every as you may expect, it'll be kinda small and in black and white

Why not wait?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
All of the ROMs are the best for somebody. You just have to find out which one is best for you. It's a DIY project by nature.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

well, yeah, that's what I feel like writing, because it's such a pointless question. you want to know what people use more? check number of pages of every rom thread and you'll know what most people are using. same with kernels. then read those threads, get the device, and enjoy flashing from day 1 you get the device, already knowing before hand what is it that you can expect (approximately, since, most of all, every device is different) from X release of X rom or kernel.
not to mention that must be there like lot's of threads on this theme, and that's it's a rather subjective/personal one.
Just broke my tbolt, got a nexus, looking forward to trying to roor and see whats here!

^ Nope, in fact you can even root without unlocking the bootloader and wiping your data

Are you the Guy over at Thunderbolt whose TB bit the dust?
Haha welcome, I think more GalNex owners had the Thunderbolt than any other phone, we just got hit so bad with waiting for ICS, none of us want that wait and uncertainty ever again.

Been playing with it all day, getting a feel for phone and battery. Ive git a 2350 battery in it i believe, and life seems pretty good. It did update to jb, and im amazed how fast phone is. If i had a good secure wifi tether, id almost not root, lol! Nah, i gotta see what this thing will do. Really liking so far though.

Should i update radios? Runnin liquid now, no 4g.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Do yourself a favor and if you haven't yet already learn adb and fastboot command lines there is no need for a toolkit for this phone. And to answer your radio question unlike the thunderbolt any radio combination works on any ROM you can update or change radios to see if they help you out but it shouldn't matter if you're getting 4g or not. Plus these roms never include radios..well from what I have seen all the radios can be flashed separately through the bootloader or some people have made flashable zips containing them.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
1. Get Gnex
2. Root/Unlock
3. Flash new radios
4. Flash new bootloader
5. Flash new ROM - I would vouch for Codename Android with Faux's kernel
that's my recommendation plan
Brace yourself, flash addiction is comimg.
