Ok,I just wanna ask if someone got a free gift from Sony or normal mobile phone retailer when buying Xperia ion??In 5 days,I'll buy an Xperia ion,and at here, they offer free gifts worth RM238 (238 divide 3 = USD amount) [HDMI cable, car charger,NCF smartag and LiveSound earphone]
The phone itself (including stock charger and earphone in box) is RM1788 or (1788 divide 3 = USD price) (Recommended price)
So,I wanna ask you guys : Do you got free gift when purchasing the phone?
PS : I'm from Malaysia

Nope mine was a replacement I didn't even get headphones lol. I dont think I've seen anything about gifts though, sales may be down for yours area though I'm in the US. Could also just be the wireless company is low on profit so it's a gimmick so they dont go under, "buy our **** and well toss in more ****"

Hmm maybe because almost all people (not all) people use iPonnies expensive phone and our neighbourhood Sammy phone (well, most Chinese use the iPonnies because their parent are rich -,-')
Sammy phone also popular in Malaysia but I rarely see people use Sony phone except me and my whole family (even some of them use Sammy phone, they still got a Sony devices because it looks like a premium devices lol )

Yes, in the US we got free gifts. Depending on where you purchased some people got an 8GB sd card, like me. Others got headphones. I would have rather got the headphones, as I have plenty of SD cards already.

So...
this is my current Situtation...
I've been under a Contract for +14 months now with my career; when i first got the contract i got an Xperia X10 Back on October 2010 but i got bored of it and around May this year i made a switch for Free with them for the SGS1 which i must say is a beautiful phone and I really love how the phone works even it's more than 16 months old since it came out.
Here in Guatemala we have not too many options in regards of High End Phones such as the SGS2 or HTC at all... But i have the option of a Free Upgrade for 1 Xperia Arc in early December.
I've got someone from here who is willing to buy my SGS1 for a really good price (around USD $500 - High End phones are kinda expensive here hehe) and i wanted to ask for your opinion if you guys think is it worth to upgrade to the Arc and sell the SGS1... I mean i have the option of selling any of them and keep the other...
Also have you heard if Eventually the Arc will get the so awaited ICS update?
What do you guys think?
Thanks!
I have to say Yes We have few developers stepping in for building ROM's
Here is a comparison, you decide:

Thanks! On the Paper both phones have similar specs with their pros and cos... But i wanted to hear the opinion from Users who already have the phone to let me know how is it like. I already have the SGS1 but wanted get more information about the Arc...
Any comment will be greatly appreciated.

I say get a gs2 or stick with gs1 Wayyy too good development

I would upgrade to arc from SGS1 any day of the week... it's a really really great bit of kit... Love the camera, love the screen.. and it's not 100% confirmed for ICS but leaks have suggested that it will.
Sony have officially stated that all of their 2011 xperia models will be getting ICS. That includes the original arc as well as the arc S.
As far as the upgrading question goes, i would say the arc is definitely worth it. There are faster/more powerful phones out there, but nothing as well designed or with as good a camera.
Wow.I wouldn't buy a new galaxy S for 250$.sell it now

Going on line and spending $500 has nothing to do with getting a free upgrade from your service provider. Especially since he said dual core phones werent available in the original post.
He can sell his phone for500 = free upgrade

I'm ready to buy a s3 for tmobile. I have a few questions:
- Any advice before buying one?
- Should I take any safety precaution before buying on the street? [I heard of people buy phones from people that cancel their plan on the carrier right after]
- Should I just save up and buy the beefed up model the i9305? [I dont really use the phone for internet that much, but I like games and apps]

I love this phone, above all other android phones which is alot.
If at all possible buy from t-mobile. In the street if you are lucky you will get one for $350 to $400. If you have an upgrade available then you will paying about that much, unless you go thru customer loyalty or retention department(really depends if you been with them 2 or more yrs for best deals, so I have read).
I have not had any stuters while playing a couple games , darkknight rises, robo defense, spades and a few others
If you are able to play with phone before buying. Press *#0*# and it will show you Lcdtest page. Which will let you test all hardware function of phone .
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
alright cool, i'll try it out when i get the chance
Id advise against buying "off the street". Too many have gotten screwed doing that.
But many have got great deals that way too, so its your call.
I wouldn't get the international version. You won't get as great of speed as the T999. Maybe 3g if your areas been refarmed.
LTE is too far off still to make that a buying point imo. By the time your area gets it you'll be ready to get a better phone. GS5 maybe!?
That's a great point btw about doing the hardware testing before buying off the street!
Ill add that if you can, go with the seller to a tmobile store to check the imei isn't blacklisted and get the seller to have them print something showing the phone has been 100% paid off.

I'm over on the s2. I called TMobile to see about how much it would be for me to get into the phone. The one I want is the 32g. Well I'm still under my contact. It was about 700 dollars lol. Well I can get it but I'm gonna need to sale my s2. I think I'll get more if I sale it rooted already then I would unrooted that way I wouldn't be paying so much for the phone.

Prefer the unlocked S3.
Like what people above said, call retentions. They offered me the s3 for 99 bucks. But I think I will still wait till black Friday deals. I have a galaxy nexus so I'm in no hurry.
If you're not in a hurry either wait for black Friday.

I have giant hands and I think the note 2 is too big. I don't watch enough movies on my phone to have to hold a tablet PC up to my ear. SGS3 fits perfectly... its nice and sleek... lightweight... and is a beast when it comes to performance. I love it.

Saw this phone on best buy for 150 and I'm eligible for a 2 year agreement just wanted to know if any of you guys have bought through best buy before?
If so Does your plan changed in any way whether it would be data?
Reason why I ask is because T-Mobile is always making it impossible for their customers. I see it as a smart investment worse comes to worse down the line I can always opt out and pay that 200 penalty to get out, I would still have my s3.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda app-developers app
I hate Best Buy but couldn't resist their low prices so last year I bought 3 phones online. It work out good for me. Not only I end up paying for the phone much less than any other place, but also somehow I didn't have to buy a data plan with those purchases. I have a family plan and that did not change also.
Last week I tried to add fifth line to my plan and I had to add minimum $20 data to new phone so I'm not sure how it is now...

Long time - since there were Voicestream - probably 10 years.
I bought this phone from bestbuy in october since I was eligible for an upgrade and bestbuy had it for way cheaper than tmobile ever did. Only part of my plan that was suppose to change was my data plan but it never did actually change. I still have the same plan I had before purchasing the phone. No complaints
Thanks guys. Yeah its way cheaper than what Tmobile has it right now about 340 with the upgrade. You guys did it through the phone or in person. One rep I was speaking with told me that I can't get the phone in store because T-Mobile doesn't allow it? Is this true or just BS. I was going to get the blaze through T-Mobile but it was going to come out around 184 basically around same price I'm getting the s3 for through best buy.. Not a big Fan of the 4'7 screen but oh well.

I actually did mine online and I had no problems. Bestbuy also gives you the option to add a warranty I think but I'm not to sure since I didn't get one
the issue to consider is that BB will sell you the 2 year plan, which continues the "subsidy" (we all know it's baked into the monthly price, RIGHT?) even after you pay of the phone. Consider a tmobile store - and a value plan, where there is more of an up front cost (possibly), but the value plan is a purchase of the phone as a transparent process, and when it's paid for (20 months?) you keep the phone, and the monthly price drops.
If you can do a "small buisiness" plan - go for that! $40 per month to 1000min and unlimited (5GB at 4G speed). $50 for unlimited/unlimited. Add $20 for phone, and stll cheapest way to go...
Merry Christmas

I think they do. But it has to be a published price, so I don't think your employee discount will count. They need like a newspaper ad or to be able to pull up a webpage (like Amazon) by themselves and see the cheaper published price.
Do they match the retail price? If so take the picture of Costco's retail price and bring it in and have them sell you the phone for $350 off contract.
This question isn't even in the wrong section, it's on the wrong website.

Atleast thats what I was told for my wifes phone which I just got like 2weeks ago on sale for $50 which was a s3 . Maybe just maybe yours might sell it in stores idk. Like I said thats just what I was told. But the bright side is they got shipping for like 5 bucks comes in 3days flat

It's not a policy made by T-Mobile. By federal law, a retail store cannot sell all 4 main carriers (don't ask me why). Therefore it is up to the resaler to choose which 3 they want to sell. For example, Target chose not to sell Sprint.

We went through this exact same issue with the s3 multiple times and as well with the iPhone 5. That phone is still on backorder through sprints insurance. Lg releases a popular device and it goes on backorder everyone freaks out and claims an eol which turned out to be a mistake (that is now fixed).
