Attachments not loading - About xda-developers.com

I've confirmed that the attachments on forum posts are not loading on my computer in Firefox (with and without adblock), Safari, and the Android Browser on my phone with and without wifi (so different internet connections) so I don't think it's me. Can anyone else confirm or am I crazy?

Yes, this has been a problem on the forum recently, for myself anyway but I do think everyone else has these issues too.
Tapatalks Image Hosting servers have been down for weeks now too.

Maybe has something to do with this? twitter (dot) com/xdadevelopers/status/255383045065043968

same problem here ... i suppose since the latest chrome v 23 update ... but some threads are working, some not ...
I have an other problem with Chrome and XDA (Windows).
Whenever I close Chrome and restart it, I'm logged out at XDA, although I check "Remember Me".
This is pretty annoying.
Maybe someone has an idea what I can do, I have this problem only on XDA.

No problems here, using Chrome Version 23.0.1271.64 m
I face the issues described here when I use Firefox 16.0.2 on Windows 7 (32 or 64 bit doesn't matter, same problem on two different PC's). The forum will reload the page over and over and over again until I deny to run scripts using NoSript for xda-developers.com. Using Google Chrome (23.0.1271.64m) there is not a problem.
Edit: Now Chrome starts to reload the forum pages over and over again, too.
The others are talking about desktop, not mobile. There is no App for those.

Same issue with Firefox and No Script on windows. I'd be interested in what is causing it if you find out. Likewise, I am enabling and disabling the MANY ad and tracker scripts running on this site.
A fresh profile of Chrome sorted this.No idea how.Same add-ons.

Whenever I hit the back key on my mouse on XDA in Chrome I go back two pages instead of one. Very frustrating. Does not seem to happen in Firefox.
My default browser is Firefox and I have none of the mentioned problems. On Chrome however the pages reload over and over again, just like described here.
Same problem here... Attachment loaded but UI messed up... And I couldn't add smilies... -_-
Happen on mozilla firefox too...
I have issues while using. Xda in browsers too,
But only in my home,
I cant even use the 2013 theme it gets garbled up
In my gf's place everythings fine,
I think it's your ISP, DNS, or browser extentions that is causing the problem

Off-Topic: What Desktop Browser do you use to Log On to XDA Forums?

I'm typing from a laptop right now, and I notice that thumbnails don't show on the threads via Chrome, but on Internet Explorer they do. Does it have something to do with Adblock or some script?

Chrome. Used to use Firefox but it brought my last computer (a netbook) to a crawl. Chrome was the only browser that would run smoothly. I've been using it as my primary browser since.

Please Help, is this a keylogger?

I just rooted my phone (Galaxy Note 2) 10-14 days ago and I also have downloaded the mod games outside the google app store. I even scanned my phone with AVG Antivirus Pro and Lockout, and found nothing - no spyware... ect.
I just noticed today there are text files which were created on 03-19-13 which is yesterday in storage/sdcard0.
The two files are
Domtree.text
Rendertree.text
I viewed the texts and they have my bank userID and Credit Card UserID on them, but I did not see my password anywhere in the text files.
Could you please tell me if my phone has a keylogger or some kind of spywares?
I am so afraid of the keylogger, PLEASE HELPThank you for kind information and help.
I am not sure but i think domtree.txt is a known file on android and is used by browsers.
The usernames you see must be stored in browser history. Can you clear your browser history and verify if you still see your username in those files ?

Thanks for reply.
I just reset the firefox history and usernames are still on the text files. I never had these text files before until I downloaded the firefox app 2-3 days. These text files created on 3-19-13.

I found that these are the dump files from Android webkit.
dumpDomTree
public void dumpDomTree(boolean toFile)
Dump the dom tree to adb shell if "toFile" is False, otherwise dump it to "/sdcard/domTree.txt"
dumpRenderTree
public void dumpRenderTree(boolean toFile)
Dump the render tree to adb shell if "toFile" is False, otherwise dump it to "/sdcard/renderTree.txt"

If you think your system is infected and sending out data you can install "Quick System Info PRO" and check the Netstats for active connections, they are listed by the programs. Keep in mind you will have to do lots of digging initially.

I dont understand how this happened. I had this phone for more than 3 months and I did not see these files until I rooted my phone 10-14 days ago, got a few modded games, and firefox. Why cant AVG Antivirus Pro, Lockout, or a few other spyware apps detect the spyware/keylogger? Anyone else who can help me?
Thank you

I don't know how it happened on your phone. But as far as I know, if it is a keylogger, you may open or downlaod some files without knowing. Because such kind of keyloggers can work invisibly on your Phone. I knew an android keylogger iKeyMonitor works invisibly after someone installed it on your phone physically. It can be even controlled remotely, very terrible!

[Q] help unwanted apps downloading on it's own

so here is my problem guys ... i'm using samsung galaxy note 2 for the past 14 months and i'm quite happy about it, but since i bought it i have experienced an irritating issue whenever i browse internet or facebook ( changing web browsers doesn't make any difference) some ad may pop up and some promotional apps starts downloading on its own ... it doesn't only cost me my data but also it pisses me off because every time i am browsing something important it pops up and redirect me to the promotional page ....some of the main apps are moboginie, c launcher etc... i have also tried ad block plus it does the job but i have noticed that whenever i install it my fb get stuck and stops loading pages ...
kindly help me if some one has solution for this or have faced same issue
and thanks in advance
Try to find the latest apk of Adaway(will work only if you're rooted) and use it to create new hosts(just 1-tap work, it does all on its own) and reboot. Your ads will dissapead.
Or if non-rooted use some browser like UC or Mozzila or any other which has ad blocking abilities or supports extensions

As per your suggestion I tried using uc browser, but it didn't work out... And I m not rooted so can't apply your first suggestion. Anyways thank for the help

I would like to add this, as suggested by you I tried Firefox and then manually added adblockplus to it... Now my problem is solved, thanks for the help since it's an Firefox extention it does not affects fb app. Thank for the help.

WhatsApp Web as Standalone/App

Hello
I wanted to have one Whatsapp account on two devices. In this Forum someone explains that its possible by using two nodded whatsapp APK's and backup one to the other phone. This did not work out for me and I heard that whatsapp might block the account.
So I thought it might be possible getting the whatsapp web client down on my Tablet and convert it to some kind of app (something like chrome on a desktop to app function). I tried using go native.io which is a very nice site but there user agent is mobile so you are redirected to the os download site for whatsapp and not the client. I tried changing the agent but it didn't work.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve my problem? Is there maybe a different site like gonative which has the option for desktop agent?
Edit: I found the reason why the agent is not working. Chrome always deletes my code changes.
Thanks in advance.
