[Q] removing/blind out system Widgets & mini-Apps - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hallo,
because some guests are using my tablet and the fact that i have some privat infomation on it i try to secure some Apps e.g. Email, calander .... with "Smart App Protector".
The problem with Smart App Protector is, that i couldn't secure the system Widgets and als the mini-Apps with which i can still open and see my privat informations.
Especially i talk about the Widgets "S Plane-Widges", "E-Mail" und "E-Mail-Konto" and Google Mail".
From the mini-Apps list i would remove or blind out E-Mail, S Planer.
With Titanium Backup i can freeze the Widgets "S Plan-Widges" and than it was removed frome the list.
regards

Grouping widgets?

edit: I found out it's a built-in Sense feature that seemingly can't be easily used by other widgets.
I have some apps that offer a lot of widgets for different sizes and that litters the "add widget" list.
There is an app (appwidgetpicker) that automatically groups widgets, but I think it should be possible to manually group widgets without extra apps.
All the settings widgets are grouped under one menu entry. So even stock Android (or at least Sense) is able to group widgets.
Does anyone know how it's done?

Default Calendar - How to display todo list/widget?

I love the stock (samsung?) calendar as I am able to hover over events, and its ease of use. I also use a lot of the task/todo function it offers, but I notice that it does not sync with google tasks... which is not a biggie... but what I do want is a home screen widget to display tasks.
Is there a widget to that will display the (samsung?) calendar todo list to display on one of my home screens?
Just go to apps > widgets , then there is 3 different calender widgets to choose from... not sure if this is what you are wanting?
Google play store> GTasks app. Has some widgets. Not sure if thats what you wanted.

[Q] All widgets in Magazine UI?

Is it possible to use all widgets in the Magazine UI?

Click to collapse
Not from what I've seen. Only "My Magazine apps" that I could get to work. Unfortunately, those apps are very limited. If I could use all the widgets then I would actually use the Magazine UX (went with Google Now Launcher to get rid of it from Home Screen).
On a side note, if you turn off "My Magainze apps", you will lose many of the available widget choices, i.e. news and social feeds. So if you like the UX, don't turn it off in application manager while you are streamlining your settings.

For some apps, I do not receive any notifications, until I open the app

Hi,
As stated in the title, for some apps (for me it's Wordfeud, Gtasks, Slack, but I've searched and seen that other apps can ben concerned, WhatsApp for instance), I do not receive any notifications, until I open the app and discover that there is something new.
How can I solve this ?
Thanks for your help.
I answer to myself because this solved it in my case :
- go to "Manage apps" (on the launcher, left side zone, choose "Manage apps"
- choose the application you want notifications from
- uncheck "Restrict to launch"
You may try disabling Battery Optimization for the selected apps.
