Bluetooth issues - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
when I get a call, I turn on my BT headset. It pairs very quickly with my Note 2, but it takes a few seconds until I hear the callers voice through the headset. My Galaxy S2 was a lot faster. Can you confirm this?

XDA IIs & BT800

Is anyone here experiencing a lag of 2-5 secs when making or answering a call with a Jabra BT800 & XDA IIs ?
I can't speak for that exact combination, but if I'm using my headset (a Logitech one) with either my XDA IIs or C500, there are noticable delays between the call registering as incoming on the handsets, and the initiation of the bluetooth "intercept" of that call. I guess it's down to the BT stack of the handset needing to
a) Recognise that there's a call coming in
b) Check that there's a BT headset paired and active
c) Send an incoming call signal to the headset
d) Wait for the headset to respond
e) Pair securely on an uncluttered frequency with the headset
In an ideal world, all of this would be instantaneous
There's also a pause of about 1 second between the time I press the 'answer' button on my headset and when I can talk. Even though I can hear the call in the earpiece, I have to wait for a second before I can say "hello"
In short; I'd say a two second overall delay is probably the time taken for the bluetooth headset initiation to complete, but longer than this might indicate some problems with signal strength etc.

Bluetooth headset and phone speaker questions

I have a HTC Touch Dual.
I just bought a bluetooth headset (SE DS220) which is working great - I listen to music and take/ring calls. However i have two strange issues I wonder if it is possible to fix:
1. While I am using the bluetooth headset my phone still rings if I receive an incoming call - I would like for the phone to be silent and for it to "ring" in my headset. If I turn off the sound in my phone then I can't listen to music either.
2. When I receive an incoming call I have to answer it with the button on the bluetooth unit - if I answer with the phone then the call is switched to the phones speakers. Is it possible to change this behaviour?
Thanks in advance!

Plantonics Voyager Pro+ and BT prob

The phone rings both the headset and the evo.
When anwering the call with the evo the call is not transfered to BT. Answering the call via the headset works correctly.
Voice dialing doesn't work through the headset. The Evo seems to turn on the speakerphone instead of listening to the headset.
Any ideas? Should I get an Iphone instead? (kidding)
it is supposed to answer at the headset if you use the headset to answer the call so if your bluetooth is not within reach you can still answer the call. Are you initiating voice dial thru the headset with a long press...Ihave the Pro and it works fine with my EVO
same here, if i answer on the headset it goes straight to headset, if i answer on phone it goes to phone until i press the call button and it transfers over

Yes long press.
Are your sure that Evo is hearing you via the headset?
I'd like to long press and then say "call home", which works if I'm close enough to the phone. If its on the dashboard I almost have to SCREAM.

thats exactly how ALL BT headsets work, or are supposed to..
As far as voice dialing, it sounds like operator error, as I have the same headset, and it works perfectly for me all the time..

As far as operator error what could I possibly be missing? Its pretty straight forward.
Also I have the bug where in I speak to Vlingo and then turn off BT, EVO reboots.

Ringtone through bluetooth headset

Currently using a Note 2, ATT model and have a LG HBS730 Bluetooth headset. How do I get the ringtone to be played over the headset for incoming calls? When a call comes in, the ringtone plays out of the phone speaker and in the headset I hear "incoming call" repeated over and over.

Bluetooth headset answers and drops call

Anyone have isssues with their bluetooth headset ?
I have a Plantronics m70 and a m165 and if there is an incoming call, and i press the headset button to answer, both headsets will answer and drop the call right away...
Is there a setting or soemthing that I missed?
Update: I've tried with a samsung bluetooth device and it does the same thing. Also whats weird now is that when I have the Samsung bluetooth connected and I tap on the screen to answer the call, it answers and drops the call.
Can anyone help ?
Something similar just happened in the car a few minutes ago. Add that to my bluetooth problems.

Yeah. It's annoying.
I cannot answer a call while on a Bluetooth headset. I have to deny the fall and call them back.
I tried with a Motorola bluetooth headset today and same thing.
I've done some more testing and noticed that with calls from landlines, the calls don't get answered and dropped. It gets answered normally.
I should add that I am rooted and running the ROM from tx_dbs_tx.
I have the same issue with rooted stock rom as well.
